This study addresses the challenges of slow and inadequate bone formation during the repair of bone defects by developing a novel porous biological scaffold with a vertical microchannel structure, loaded with the angiogenesis-promoting drug Deferoxamine (DFO). Utilizing 3D printing technology, cylindrical porous templates made of PLGA were manufactured, followed by the integration of Linear Wire Arrays (LWAs) technology and freeze-drying techniques to fabricate scaffolds with microchannels. The scaffolds' surface morphology was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, while their porosity, water absorption properties, and mechanical strength were quantified.

Coherent perfect absorber (CPA) and laser points are special spectral singularities where zero and infinitely large eigenvalues exist, respectively. The singularities have mainly been realized on the opposite surfaces (upper and lower sides) of the multilayer structures. Here, we demonstrate CPA and laser points separately on the identical side of a proposed bilayer metasurface.

Biomimetic nano dressing in wound healing: design strategies and application.

Biomimetic nano dressings have superior biological activity, biocompatibility, and stimuli-responsive properties compared with traditional wound dressings due to their biomimetic design integration and show great potential in wound management. This review summarizes the materials and techniques used to prepare current biomimetic nano dressings, focusing on biomimetic design strategies. Moreover, we explore the application of biomimetic nano dressings in treating wounds associated with infections, burns, diabetes, and postoperative skin cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the lethal malignancies resulting from the dense extracellular matrix (ECM) hindering the diffusion of cancer-chemotherapeutics and the intra-tumoral bacteria promoting tumor growth and inactivating cancer-chemotherapeutics, causing poor treatment prognoses. It is difficult to exert efficacy spatiotemporally by combined administration of chemotherapeutics, ECM degradation agents and antibiotics, and this may disturb the microflora in critically ill patients. To establish intra-tumor co-delivery of cancer-chemotherapeutics, ECM degradation agents and antibiotics, self-targeting DCPA (2-(4-((1,5-bis(octadecyloxy)-1,5-dioxopentan-2-yl)carbamoyl)pyridin-1-ium-1-yl)acetate) liposomes with complexed water as pH responsive functionality were self-assembled and PEGylated ciprofloxacin was used as a lipid-membrane component, together with bromelain and gemcitabine loaded in-core (B/G-C/DCPA-HO).
