Background: Myocardial Injury (MI) is a condition in which there is an adverse reaction to the function of the heart, which can seriously damage health in some severe cases, producing symptoms such as shock and sudden death. The causes of MI are varied, as are the methods of recovery. To pursue a faster therapeutic effect, western drugs with antiviral and antiplatelet similar effects are usually adopted in clinical practice, but such drugs mostly have side effects including allergic reaction, liver function damage, drug dependence and so on.

Methods: We analyzed PRTFDC1 gene expression patterns in 539 LUAD and 59 normal lung tissue samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Using bioinformatics tools, we examined the correlation between PRTFDC1 expression and clinical characteristics, immune infiltration, Tumor Mutation Burden (TMB), and drug responsiveness.

We studied the potential protective effects of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25 VD3) supplementation on liver damage induced by a choline-deficient (CD) diet in rats, where impaired liver function leads to decreased 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 levels, the precursor for the active 1,25 VD3. The CD diet reduced serum 25 VD3 levels and increased liver enzymes, indicative of liver damage. Conversely, 1,25 VD3 supplementation alleviated liver damage, reducing liver enzymes and improving histopathological features characteristic of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

Background: Cronkhite-Canada syndrome (CCS) is a rare sporadic polyposis syndrome that presents with gastrointestinal and ectodermal symptoms in addition to nutritional deficiencies. CCS combined with hypothyroidism is an even rarer condition, with no standard treatment guidelines.

Case Summary: The present study described 2 patients with CCS: A 67-year-old woman with concomitant hypothyroidism and 68-year-old man treated with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR).
