Pulmonary epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (P-EMC) is a rare type of salivary gland tumour of the lung. Due to its rarity and lack of long-term follow-up data, there is no established standard for optimal treatment or duration of follow-up. The present study reports the case of a 58-year-old female patient with P-EMC originating from the middle part of the bronchus and presenting as an endobronchial mass in the left superior lobe.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) represents a significant global health challenge. Gut microbiota imbalance and abnormal chromatin modifications play critical roles in the progression of CRC. However, the mechanisms by which they exert their influences, particularly the involvement of ()-mediated post-translational modifications (PTMs), remain inadequately understood.

Introduction: Cardiac arrhythmia frequently co-presents with structural abnormalities such as cardiomyopathy and myocardial fibrosis, creating a bidirectional relationship where electrical disturbances and structural remodeling exacerbate each other. Current genetic studies focus on ion channel variants, which explain part of the etiology. Molecular mechanisms underlying arrhythmias pathogenesis and its progression warrant further investigation.

By constructing a high-density genetic linkage map using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population from two sorghum lines with distinct variations in plant height and brix content, eight genetic loci were identified, and candidate genes associated with these traits were predicted. Sorghum, recognized as a crucial forage and energy crop, exhibits yield and quality influenced by plant height and sugar content traits. Considering the complex genetic architecture of plant height and sugar content, this study utilized a sorghum recombinant inbred line population comprising 250 lines to elucidate the phenotypic variation and genetic foundations of these traits.

The role of different imaging modalities-non-contrast CT (NCCT), CT perfusion (CTP), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)-in selecting patients with large-core stroke for endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) is a subject of ongoing debate. This study aims to determine whether patients with large-core acute ischemic stroke (AIS) undergoing EVT triaged with CTP or DWI in addition to NCCT had different clinical outcomes compared to those only triaged with NCCT. We queried the Stroke Thrombectomy and Aneurysm Registry (STAR) for patients enrolled between 2014 and 2023 who presented with anterior-circulation AIS and large ischemic core (ASPECTS < 6) who underwent EVT in 41 stroke centers in the USA, Europe, Asia, and South America.

Most of the existing studies are limited to regional samples, which cannot accurately reflect disease burden and risk factors.
Objectives: This study aimed to systematically analyze the prevalence and risk factors of adult radiology KOA in China for the first time using a national representative sample and to develop a prediction model to provide a basis for public health strategies.

Purpose: Simulations suggest that displacement of rectus extraocular muscle pulleys in superior oblique (SO) palsy accounts for incomitant strabismus patterns even without postulating SO contractile weakness. We asked how rectus extraocular muscle pulleys reorient during head tilt in SO palsy.
Methods: In 13 subjects with unilateral SO palsy, supine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in 2-mm-thick quasi-coronal planes in target-controlled central gaze was repeated in both lateral decubitus positions equivalent to 90° head tilts.

Plantar wounds, particularly diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), impose significant burdens on patients' quality of life and healthcare systems. Personalized wound management demands real-time monitoring of biomechanical parameters and effective therapeutic interventions to prevent exacerbations. Here, a dual-layer flexible liquid metal fiber (LMF) capable of simultaneous plantar pressure sensing and electrical stimulation for accelerated wound healing is presented.

De novo DNA synthesis plays crucial roles in life science. Enzymatic oligonucleotide synthesis (EOS) has attracted interest due to longer synthesized chains, simple procedure, cost-effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. However, unlike chemical synthesis dominated by small molecule, the EOS relies on enzyme reacting with primers.

To address post-harvest issues of litchi, including browning, water loss, and nutrient degradation, a moisture microenvironment-regulating electro spun membrane was prepared by incorporating hydrophobic carnauba wax (CW)@nano silica (SiO) composite powder into a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) matrix via electro spinning. The dynamic water penetration equilibrium was evaluated by monitoring the water vapor absorption of the electrospun membrane within 12 h, while the effects of CW@SiO on the micro-structure, mechanical properties, hydrophobicity, and thermal stability were investigated. Results showed that the tensile strength of the PET-2.

Hypoxia is an intrinsic characteristic within tumors or infected tissues, which poses a significant barrier to effective photodynamic therapy (PDT). Type I PDT is a promising complement or alternative to conventional Type II PDT owing to its reduced or absent reliance on molecular oxygen. Type I photosensitizers (PSs) are essential to Type I PDT, which undergoes photoinduced electron transfer with biological substrates to produce cytotoxic radical species (O •, •OH) for the targeted destruction of pathological tissues.

The neuroactive β-N-oxalyl-L-α,β-diaminopropionic acid (β-ODAP) was first identified in Lathyrus sativus and present also in several Chinese traditional herbs including Panax notoginseng. It exhibit toxicological effects as the causative agent of neurolathyrism when L. sativus was over-consumed under drought-triggered famines or pharmacological effects including neuroprotection and wound healing.

Silicon is considered as a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries due to its high capacity. However, its huge volume expansion during lithium de-embedding and low Li/electron diffusion pose a great challenge for practical applications, while carbon coatings are important strategies to enhance the cycling performance of Si anode. Herein, three kinds of carbon coatings are designed with different microstructures and evaluated the relationship between microstructure and electrochemical behaviors.

Falls and their consequences are perhaps the greatest moderators of quality of life (QoL) among older adults with hypertension. However, limited studies have been conducted to identify associations between fall risk and awareness, anthropometric, balance, and QoL among older women with different blood pressure patterns within the Pakistani population. This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between anthropometric measurements, postural balance (PB), fear of falling, fall risk awareness, and QoL in older females with hypersensitive status in Lahore, Pakistan.

Background: Tissue engineering has recently been shown to have a considerable advantage in promoting wound healing in clinical studies and animal models, with an increasing number of documents in designing and mechanism investigations. The lack of bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping in this field would hinder comprehensive understanding of this field and the development of future research.
Methods: Our investigation into the application of tissue engineering in wound healing involved a search of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC).

Background: A significant challenge in bladder cancer treatment is primary chemoresistance, in which cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in the tumor microenvironment (TME) play a pivotal role. While the contributions of CAFs to tumor progression and drug resistance are well established, the precise molecular mechanisms by which they induce chemoresistance remain unclear. A comprehensive understanding of the effect of TME modulation-particularly through CAFs-on the chemotherapeutic response is crucial for developing effective strategies to overcome chemoresistance and improve patient survival.

Background: Zinc finger protein 132 (ZNF132) has emerged as a potential tumor suppressor, with its dysregulation closely associated with the initiation and progression of various malignancies. However, a comprehensive assessment of ZNF132's expression patterns across diverse cancer types, its clinical prognostic implications, and its immunoregulatory role in colorectal cancer remains insufficiently characterized. This study aims to elucidate the biological functions of ZNF132 within the context of colorectal cancer.
