Recycling treatments of spent Li-ion batteries (LIBs) have become a global focus. However, traditional industrial recycling methods would result in high energy consumption and significant pollution. Eco-friendly techniques can improve resource recovery efficiency, simplify subsequent processes, and enhance product quality.

However, ocular conditions may present similarly and lead to misdiagnosis. We report the case of a 73-year-old man presenting with right-sided visual field deficits and visual hallucinations, initially suggestive of posterior cerebral artery stroke.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a neurological emergency typically associated with hypertension or drug toxicity. Although mirtazapine is not a classical serotonergic agent, overdose may induce serotonin syndrome, which can contribute to PRES. A 50-year-old woman presented with seizures, impaired consciousness, and autonomic instability following ingestion of > 300 mg mirtazapine.

This case report aims to discuss the prompt recognition and the possible mechanism of acute cauda equina syndrome (CES) following intrathecal bupivacaine administration for cesarean section. A 30-year-old primigravida developed sudden-onset bilateral lower-extremity weakness, numbness, and paresthesia, along with urinary and bowel incontinence, after an uncomplicated cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed engorgement and gadolinium enhancement of the cauda equina nerve roots, consistent with a diagnosis of CES.

This research presents a machine tool model correction method assisted by the dynamic evolution sequence (DES). The method first introduces a dynamic evolution method to generate a uniformly distributed sequence, replacing the traditional sequence used in Kriging surrogate models, and constructing a more accurate Kriging surrogate model for machine tools.

This study investigates the molecular epidemiology of lineage 1 and lineage 3 PRRSV-2 in Taiwan between 2018 and 2024. A total of 43,977 samples were collected across 15 counties in Taiwan, and 13,611 tested positive for PRRSV by real-time PCR.

However, dynamic changes in the gut microbiota and metabolome during TGEV infection remain unclear. This study investigated these alterations and their association with intestinal damage in weaned pigs during early TGEV infection.

Biopsy specimens from 70 rabbits collected between 2014 and 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, yielding 85 diagnoses. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was performed to detect leporipoxvirus in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues diagnosed with fibroma, fibrosarcoma, or myxosarcoma.

This approach is promising for noninvasive wide field-of-view (FOV) monitoring of biophysiological processes .
Aim: We aim to develop deep-learning-enabled spatial frequency domain imaging (SFDI-net) for real-time large FOV imaging of the optical, structural, and physiological properties and demonstrate its application for probing the spatiotemporal dynamics of skin physiology.

Introduction: Maintaining polyamines homeostasis is essential for cardiovascular health, whereas elevated uric acid levels are recognized as a significant risk factor for the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases. However, the interaction between uric acid and the regulation of polyamine homeostasis has not been extensively investigated. The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of uric acid on cardiac polyamines regulation and elucidate the role of polyamines in uric acid induced cardiomyocytic injury.

With the widespread adoption of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO, LFP)-based power batteries, it is anticipated that a huge volume of spent LFP cathodes will be generated in the near future. Therefore, it is imperative to develop advanced, ecofriendly, and efficient recycling technologies for spent LFP cathodes. In this work, a low-temperature direct hydrothermal regeneration strategy with a rapid eluting process is introduced for the spent LFP cathodes.

The present study examined whether and how long-term language experience and brief exposure to non-target language affected TOP rates in Mandarin handwriting. In Experiment 1, high and low proficiency Mandarin-English bilinguals completed a Mandarin character dictation task before and after watching a short English movie.

Background/purpose: Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a pathogen with a negative economic impact on the global swine industry. In 2019, a suspected highly pathogenic strain, NPUST-108-929/2019 (108-929), was isolated from a pig farm in Pingtung with an outbreak of high mortality and analyzed. The characteristics of PRRSV 108-929 have barely been studied.

A novel demodulation scheme for a point-type fiber sensor is designed for salinity concentration monitoring based on a Sagnac interferometer (SI) composed of a tapered polarization-maintaining fiber (TPMF) and optical time stretching technology. The SI, constructed using a PMF with a taper region of 5.92 μm and an overall length of 30 cm, demonstrated a notable enhancement in the evanescent field, which intensifies the interaction between the light field and external salinity.

Previous studies using cognates with the same writing system have found cognate facilitation effect in the lexical processes of spoken and typewritten productions and cognate interference effect in the sub-lexical process of typewritten production. This study focused on cross-script cognates, Chinese-English, which have different writing systems, and explored cognate effects based on the input and output modalities by using a Chinese-English translation task. Experiment 1 was under visual input modality and investigated the cross-script cognate effect in all three output modalities: spoken, typewritten and handwritten.

Introduction: The available approved anticancer drugs for Chinese patients are relatively limited because of China's low participation rate in international clinical trials. Therefore, a focus on approved anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)/programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) drugs in China is needed. This study aims to assess the heterogeneity of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies manufactured in China (domestic PD-1/PD-L1) and overseas (imported PD-1/PD-L1) when combined with chemotherapy as the first-line treatment of NSCLC.
