Metabolic reprogramming constitutes a hallmark of malignant neoplasms. Purine metabolism emerges as a pivotal regulator in cellular metabolic networks through multiple mechanisms, including dysregulation of de novo biosynthesis/salvage pathway coordination, adenosine-mediated immunosuppressive microenvironment formation, and collective contributions to tumorigenesis and malignant progression. During metastatic progression, purine metabolism reinforces tumor cell plasticity through mitochondrial energy regulation and modulation of cell cycle checkpoints (eg, G1/S transition).

Groundwater serves as the primary drinking water source for residents in the Zhaojue area, located in the hinterland of the Daliang Mountains in Sichuan Province. This study investigated the spatial distribution, pollution characteristics, and health risks of 10 metal elements (As, Cd, Al, Mn, Hg, Co, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni) through 48 groundwater sampling sites. Comprehensive analysis using single-factor and Nemerow composite pollution index evaluation methods, coupled with multivariate statistics and health risk models, revealed critical findings.

Aims: Our study explores the candy box (CB) technique with sutures and Nice knot as a novel treatment for inferior pole patellar fractures, potentially superior to traditional wire fixation.

Methods: CT data from five adult knee joints were extracted to create finite element models for inferior pole patellar fractures and four internal fixation models. These included CB technique combined with high-strength sutures and Nice knot (CB-H), CB technique combined with tendon sutures and Nice knot (CB-T), CB technique combined with steel wires (CB-S), and tension-band wiring combined with cerclage wiring (TBWC).

Background: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), expressed in neovascular endothelial cells of various malignancies including lung cancer (LC), highlights its potential as a biomarker for neovascularization. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic efficacy of PSMA PET/CT in primary lung cancer (PLC), as well as to explore its role in staging and neovascularization detection in PLC.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective study included 39 patients (27 with PLC, 12 with benign lesions) who underwent PSMA PET/CT, with or without FDG PET/CT, between April 2021 and July 2024.

The integration of renewable energy with electrocatalytic technology affords an effective pathway to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy efficiency, thereby promoting the green electrification of the chemical industry. However, the inherent contradiction between the fluctuating nature of renewable energy and the need for stable operation in electrochemical processes significantly hinders their development and implementation. To mitigate this, we propose a robust two-electron oxygen reduction reaction system using O-coordinated Co single-atom catalysts for the electrosynthesis of environmentally friendly hydrogen peroxide.

Intrinsically elastic thermoelectric generators with superior conformal coverage and shape adaptability are highly desirable for developing self-powered wearable electronics, soft bioelectronics and personal temperature regulators. Until now, all reported high-performance thermoelectric materials have realized only flexibility, rather than elasticity. Here we present one of the first n-type thermoelectric elastomers by integrating uniform bulk nanophase separation, thermally activated crosslinking and targeted doping into a single material.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors have shown limited response rates in bladder cancer. RC48-antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) shows potential for combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors. This study aimed to elucidate RC48-ADC's mechanism in sensitizing tumors to immunotherapy and identify optimal combination strategies.

During the construction of subgrade, the remolding water content of lime-sand-stabilized clay usually varies in a wide range, leading to inconsistent effectiveness in strength enhancement. Until now, this aspect has not been investigated. In this study, an unconfined compression test and microscopic observation were carried out on clay and stabilized clay (adding 4% lime by mass and 50% sand by volume).

A simple and inexpensive high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the analysis of gingerols and shogaols in ginger extracts discriminated with a diode array detector (DAD) has been developed. The ginger extracts were well separated with a linear gradient elution from mixed solvents of water and methanol to methanol within 30 min by using different C18 columns. The separated components were detected with a DAD.

Mass cytometry (MC), considered the next generation of flow cytometry (FC), uses antibodies tagged with metal isotopes instead of fluorescent molecules for higher-dimensional single cell biomarker assays and can measure more than 50 parameters simultaneously on individual cells. Despite its powerful analytical performance, MC also has limitations in sensitivity and isotope channels using current mass tags. Herein, a new metal tagging strategy was developed to prepare MC mass tags based on apoferritin nanoparticles (AFNPs).

Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of global cancer mortality, increasingly linked to circadian rhythm disruption-a critical yet underexplored driver of tumorigenesis.

Methods: This bibliometric analysis evaluates 374 publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (1999-2024) using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometrix to map global research trends.

Results: Annual publications surged post-2016, peaking in 2021, reflecting intensified focus on circadian-CRC interactions.

The management of pain and the chondral injury resulting from osteoarthritis (OA) present serious challenges in clinical treatment. The conventional method of injecting hyaluronic acid (HA) directly into the joint can alleviate the condition, but it is constrained by the challenge of preserving its effectiveness over an extended time. Recent studies indicate that the total Chikusetusaponin IVa (ChS IVa) found in the Panax japonicas have the ability to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation.

To investigate the diagnostic capability of multiple machine learning algorithms combined with intratumoral and peritumoral ultrasound radiomics models for non-massive breast cancer in dense breast backgrounds. Manual segmentation of ultrasound images was performed to define the intratumoral region of interest (ROI), and five peritumoral ROIs were generated by extending the contours by 1 to 5 mm. A total of 851 radiomics features were extracted from these regions and filtered using statistical methods.

Background: Oral cancer (OC) is one of the major types of cancer and the most common cause of cancer-related mortality in Asia. In recent years, matrix stiffness in the tumor microenvironment has been found to play an important role in regulating tumor cell behavior. However, the regulatory mechanisms associated with matrix stiffness in OC cells remain unclear.

() is a species widely used in the dairy industry to accelerate the acidification rate and improve the texture and flavour characteristics of dairy products. However, most have galactose-negative (Gal) phenotypes, which can lead to accumulation of free galactose in fermented dairy products. In a previous study, a mutant of IMAU20551Y was obtained by N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (NTG) mutagenesis in which key enzymes related to galactose metabolism were significantly changed compared with the wild type.
