Herein, a metal-free and versatile strategy was successfully reported for the divergent synthesis of various functionalized dibenzo[,]selenophenes, dibenzo[,]tellurophenes, and phenoxaselenines in moderate to excellent yields in one-pot. This method utilized commercially available, cheap, and sustainable ammonium bromide as the catalyst to promote the radical cyclization of biarylboronic acids with elemental Se/Te. Comparatively, this method was highlighted by its readily available starting material, broad substrate scope, simple catalytic system, easy operation, good safety, being strongly oxidant-free, and easily scalable.

The androgen receptor signaling inhibitor enzalutamide (Enz) is one the primary therapeutic drugs for advanced prostate cancer (PCa). Nevertheless, most of patients ultimately develop resistance to Enz. Through an integrated analysis of CRISPR genome-wide and kinome-wide screens, coupled with observations of elevated expression levels in Enz-resistant cell lines and PCa tumor tissues, our study identified RPS6KC1 as a novel essential gene implicated in Enz resistance.

In recent years, with the development of science and technology and the transformation of economic structures, rubidium and cesium have gradually become indispensable rare metal resources as important materials for high-tech industries. However, the relationship between supply and demand of resources is unbalanced, industrial demand is much higher than production, and the rubidium and cesium resources in hard rock minerals such as traditional pegmatite minerals are no longer enough to support global scientific and technological upgrading. There is therefore an urgent need to expand sources of resource extraction and recovery to meet market demand.

The potential synthetic utility of this method is demonstrated by its wide substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, high efficiency, metal-free, chemical-oxidant-free, easy operation, and easy scalability. The detailed mechanistic experiments indicate that this strategy possibly proceeds via a radical pathway.

The role of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) in regulating smooth muscle cells (SMCs) and angiogenesis has been confirmed. To demonstrate the feasibility of regulating the phenotypic transformation of corpus spongiosum smooth muscle cells (CSSMCs) in hypospadias using LIPUS and to explore the potential mechanisms.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new phosphinoyl radical precursor, -phosphinoylaminophthalimide (PAPI), was developed. The precursor exhibits several practical advantages: facile synthesis from commercially available starting materials, cost-effectiveness at scale, and excellent air and moisture stability under ambient storage conditions. Phosphinoyl radical was generated under basic and oxidative conditions, and captured by isonitrile and olefin, yielding phosphinoyl-substituted phenanthridines and α-phosphinoyl ketones, respectively.

Employing inexpensive sulfanilic acid as a catalyst, this method features a key 1,4-sulfinate migration and avoids the use of transition metal catalysts. Substrates that are unreactive under metal-mediated catalysis are applicable due to proton transfer processes.

Background: Urothelial regeneration is a crucial part of bladder tissue engineering. However, there is a lack of ideal "seed cells" in current practices. Here, we demonstrated that a sub-population of p63 positive basal cells could be activated and differentiate into intermediate and superficial umbrella cells after full-thickness mucosal resection in rabbit.

However, this growth often focuses on cost-driven strategies like generic drug production rather than innovation. Challenges such as fragmented regulatory systems, limited infrastructure, low R&D budgets, and dependence on imported active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) limit global competitiveness in drug innovation.
