Purpose: To investigate the effect and underlying mechanism of astaxanthin electrospun patches in treating oral ulcers in rats.
Methods: An oral ulcer model of rats was established by mechanical trauma, then the rats were randomly divided into astaxanthin electrospun patch group, chitosan patch group, metronidazole patch group and blank control group. The ulcer healing time and the area healing rate of each group were observed.
Cemental tear is a rare and indetectable condition unless obvious clinical signs present with the involvement of surrounding periodontal and periapical tissues. Due to its clinical manifestations similar to common dental issues, such as vertical root fracture, primary endodontic diseases, and periodontal diseases, as well as the low awareness of cemental tear for clinicians, misdiagnosis often occurs. The critical principle for cemental tear treatment is to remove torn fragments, and overlooking fragments leads to futile therapy, which could deteriorate the conditions of the affected teeth.

Astragalus Membranaceus Extract (AME) has received attention in spinal cord injury in recent years, but its specific effects in spinal cord injury are unclear.
Methods: Databases of PubMed, Embase, WOS, Cochrane Library, FMRS, Clinical trial, CNKI, VIP, and WangFang were searched from their establishment to December 1, 2024 using the following terms: "Astragalus propinquus," "Huang qi," " Bunge," "Spinal cord injuries," "spinal cord diseases," "spinal cord trauma.
Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder affecting ~65 million individuals worldwide. Abnormal synaptic plasticity is one of the most important pathological features of this condition. We investigated how ubiquitin-specific peptidase 47 (USP47) influences synaptic plasticity and its link to epilepsy.

Molecular-level trade-offs between degradation efficiency and disinfection byproducts (DBPs) toxicity were unraveled through fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) analysis. Radical-mediated cleavage of aromatic C-I bonds was predominantly observed in UV/Cl process, yielding low-molecular weight chlorinated aliphatics (300-500 Da).

Children and adolescents (CAAs) are particularly vulnerable to OM. However, epidemiological data on OM in CAAs is relatively scarce.

Inhibition of NLRP3 inflammasome activation represents an emerging strategy to simultaneously attenuate seizures and associated neuropsychiatric comorbidities. Therefore, this study investigates whether JC124, a novel NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor, exerts neuroprotective effects in kainic acid (KA)-induced epileptic mice and in human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived neurons stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Methods: Between January 2018 and March 2023, we retrospectively collected 382 pregnant women and ultimately included 68 subjects: 24 with PE, 14 with GH, and 30 healthy controls. The stiffness value (μ) from vMRE, true diffusion coefficient, pseudo-diffusion coefficient, perfusion fraction (f) from IVIM-based analysis, and apparent diffusion coefficient were calculated.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify potential biomarkers associated with active Graves' ophthalmopathy (GO) and develop a model for predicting the occurrence and progression of active GO.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 220 GO patients (n=120 in the active phase, n=100 in the stable phase) and 70 healthy controls. Laboratory and other clinical indicators were compared in GO patients at different stages and healthy controls.

Oral ulcers are a prevalent manifestation of various oral diseases, often resulting in notable pain and discomfort, potentially leading to infection or even malignancy without proper intervention. However, the effectiveness of local therapeutic drugs is limited owing to their short residence time in the oral cavity, with the unique environment such as saliva flow and mechanical actions of lips and tongue, leading to difficulty in penetrating the mucosal and pseudomembrane barriers. Herein, keratin and hyaluronic acid-based microneedle patches loaded with hop extract (KMNs@HE) have been developed for the treatment of oral ulcers.

As smoking and alcohol consumption are modifiable behaviors, the burden of laryngeal cancer attributable to these factors is potentially reducible. This study aims to quantify the global, regional and national burden of laryngeal cancer attributable to smoking and alcohol use in men aged 50 years and older, assess temporal trends from 1990 to 2021, and project the disease burden through 2040.

In this study, tannic acid (TA) coupled with ammonium sulfate ((NH)SO) conditioning methods were employed to improve WAS dewatering, and the intrinsic mechanism was explored. The experimental results demonstrated that the combined application of 26.

Background: Researchers are currently concentrating on molecular markers and potential therapeutic targets associated with gastric cancer in light of recent developments in precision medicine and molecular biology. Disulfidptosis was first proposed in 2023 as a novel programmed cell death mode associated with the cytoskeleton. Disulfidptosis-related proteins are essential for the preservation of protein stability and abnormal expression of disulfidptosis-related genes may be linked to cancer development and drug resistance.

Although KMT2D is highly mutated in a variety of cancers, its role in the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to reveal the significance of KMT2D expression in OSCC and to preliminarily explore the regulatory effect of KMT2D on the expression of OSCC-related genes by influencing histone modifications.

Herein, we deliberately engineered an electric double layer (EDL) surface modification with positively charged molecules, which optimizes the charge carrier dynamics. The anchoring of both diethylenetriamine (DETA) molecules and Pt species on CdS (denoted as Pt/CdS-D) achieves remarkable H evolution performance, delivering an exceptional rate of 6295 μmol g h and an apparent quantum efficiency of 14.

Due to its strong association with chronic pain and dysfunction, arthritis has become an important challenge in public health. Recent studies have shown that triglyceride (TG) levels, as key metabolic markers, may play an important role in the pathogenesis of arthritis, and its associated inflammatory response may accelerate joint degeneration and inflammatory process.

The specific link between CD2 Associated Protein (CD2AP) expression and the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains unclear, and further exploration is needed to understand its potential role in immune response and as a target for immunotherapy in GC. Utilizing RNA sequencing data acquired from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) for a pan-cancer analysis, a comprehensive evaluation was carried out to determine the expression pattern and immunological involvement of CD2AP.

Unlabelled: Background Under the context of active aging, older women face prominent mental health risks due to their dual vulnerability stemming from biological characteristics and social roles. Given the existing practical bottlenecks in current research namely, unclear mechanisms regarding how social participation alleviates geriatric depression and insufficient studies on population heterogeneity. It is important to analyze the impact of social participation on depressive symptoms of older women in China and to implement corresponding policy systems.
