Behçet's disease (BD) is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis characterized by polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) and macrophage activation. However, the interaction of PMN and macrophages remains elusive. To elucidate the potential dysregulation of BD PMN exosomes on macrophage activation, PMN exosomes from both BD patients and healthy controls are isolated, quantified and incubated with macrophages.

Disruption of the BBB induced by brain microvascular endothelial cells (BMECs) dysfunction is a key event that triggers secondary damage to the central nervous system, where blood-borne fluids and immune cells penetrate the brain parenchyma, causing cerebral edema and inflammatory response and further aggravating brain damage.

In this work, the previously reported SeODR strategy was used successfully for the synthesis of bicyclic peptides (). with different rings bearing various thioether linkages were prepared through a one-pot reaction; 15 with satisfactory yields were achieved. Cross-linkers including xylylene dibromide (, 2,6-bis(bromomethyl)pyridine (, 4,4'-bis(bromomethyl)biphenyl (), 1,3-dichloroacetone (, and dichloro--tetrazine ( are all compatible with the SeODR approach used for deprotection of the S-acetamidomethyl (Acm) group in peptides.

Objectives: Understanding the antibody response in monkeypox virus (MPXV)-infected and uninfected individuals is essential for developing next-generation MPXV vaccines. This study aimed to characterize neutralizing antibody (NAb) and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) responses in both groups, providing insights into immune protection and vaccine design.
Methods: A recombinant vaccinia Tian Tan (VTT) virus was utilized to develop high-throughput luciferase-reporter-based neutralization and ADCC assays.
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has become the most prevalent chronic liver disease globally, imposing significant economic burdens. In this study, we analyzed serum indicators-including ALT, AST, De-Ritis ratio, fasting blood glucose (FBG), lipid profiles, and blood pressure-among 162,699 Chinese individuals from Ping An Healthcare Diagnostics Center, stratified by gender, age, and weight. Comparative analysis revealed significant differences in these biomarkers between MASLD and Normal groups, enabling the identification of markers associated with MASLD subhealth.

Background: Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a progressive life-limiting condition that necessitates early implementation of advance care planning (ACP). However, patients and caregivers encounter emotional, informational, and cultural barriers to effective ACP engagement. This meta-synthesis consolidates qualitative evidence to deepen our understanding of ACP practices in CHF care.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) frequently metastasizes to the liver, significantly compromising patient survival. While surgical resection improves outcomes for resectable cases, many patients have limited therapeutic options.
Aim: To evaluate the role of laparoscopic ultrasound in resection and ablation of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM).
This case report presents a rare instance of synchronous multiple primary cancers involving lung adenocarcinoma with bone metastasis, gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma, and rectal cancer. The 64-year-old male patient was treated with a combination of sintilimab, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy. Following a multidisciplinary team consultation, systemic treatment with sintilimab, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine was initiated concurrently while furmonertinib targeted therapy continued.

Background: In the phase III DUO-E trial, durvalumab with or without olaparib significantly increased survival outcomes compared to chemotherapy alone among patients with endometrial cancer. The aim of this study was to assess the cost-effectiveness of durvalumab in patients with advanced/recurrent dMMR endometrial cancer.
Research Design And Methods: A Markov model was used to compare the cost-effectiveness of durvalumab with or without olaparib compared to chemotherapy alone in the treatment of advanced/recurrent dMMR endometrial cancer, using the data from phase III DUO-E trial.

Cerebral edema (CE) is a major component of early brain injury from aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Despite the utility of blood-based protein markers, biomarkers targeting cerebral edema have yet to be developed. We performed a targeted proteomic search analyzing 141 proteins in plasma samples taken from 80 adult patients within 48 hours after aneurysmal rupture to identify plasma biomarkers of cerebral edema.

Case Report: An 18-year-old male presented to a vascular anomalies center with scalp AVM and ulcerative hemorrhages over a 6-month period due to post-excision recurrence, initially associated with thinning hair and scalp erythema around the AVM lesion. After meticulous debridement, the patient was immediately given an ethanol embolization.
Main lobe shifting and splitting phenomena of Airy beams are theoretically investigated based on the spatial light modulator (SLM) method. By digitally modulating the phase masks on the SLM, the single main lobe of the 2D symmetric Airy beam shifts to its neighboring side lobe. This results in the main-lobe splitting and the formation of a two-main-lobe state.

Streamflow seasonality, characterized by its unequal intra-annual distribution, is predominantly shaped by precipitation dynamics in non-snowmelt-dominated regions. However, climate change and human activities can alter the hydrological cycle, weaken the consistency in precipitation-streamflow seasonality, and further modify streamflow seasonality. Despite its importance, the mechanisms modulating precipitation-streamflow seasonality consistency remain underexplored.

Current surgical interventions face high recurrence rates and complications, necessitating exploration of molecular mechanisms driving FIL. N-methyladenosine (mA) RNA modification plays an essential role in modulating RNA stability and contribute to the regulation of adipogenesis.

However, reported methods are mainly limited to nucleophilic modification of ring-opening species. Herein, we report a distinct electrophilic modification method, smoothly converting pyridines into arene-1,3-dialdehydes or naphthalene-1,3-dialdehydes.
