Solid-state nanochannel sensors have emerged as a promising platform for next-generation disease marker detection. However, significant challenges remain in detecting low-abundance miRNAs in biological systems. This study presents an ultra-sensitive electrochemical sensing system based on interfacial charge density modulation and signal synergistic amplification within nanochannel for precise detection of microRNA-155 (miR-155).

In this study, we analyzed serum indicators-including ALT, AST, De-Ritis ratio, fasting blood glucose (FBG), lipid profiles, and blood pressure-among 162,699 Chinese individuals from Ping An Healthcare Diagnostics Center, stratified by gender, age, and weight. Comparative analysis revealed significant differences in these biomarkers between MASLD and Normal groups, enabling the identification of markers associated with MASLD subhealth.

However, large quantities of nitrogen are lost as nitrogenous gases during composting, reducing the fertilization performance of the final products. Here, the N cycle and amino acid (AA) biotransformation profiles in an industrial-scale sludge composting plant (130t/d) were investigated using replicated and temporally sampled multi-omics datasets.

Background: A novel classification for microspherophakia (MSP) was developed using a nomogram model to stratify patients and evaluate surgical outcomes.
Methods: The study involved 99 eyes from 64 MSP patients, divided into training (64 eyes) and validation (35 eyes) cohorts. Primary outcome included the best corrected distance visual acuity (BCVA) at the 1-year follow-up, and the secondary outcome was intraocular pressure (IOP) control.
Purpose: To identify risk factors for posterior capsule opacification (PCO) after in-the-bag intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in pediatric patients with Marfan syndrome (MFS) and ectopia lentis (EL).
Setting: Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
Design: Prospective cohort study.
Background: Early diagnosis and differentiation of demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) are essential for timely treatment but challenged with the limited availability of non-invasive, real-time methods to assess the architecture of the CNS. This study compared the retinal layers between patients with CNS demyelinating diseases and the general population and evaluated the predictive value of these structures in prospective diagnosis.
Methods: This UK Biobank study, incorporating optical coherence tomography images, analyzed patients with CNS demyelinating diseases identified at recruitment and during follow-up.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the accuracy of seven formulas for intraocular lens power calculation in patients with microspherophakia (MSP).
Methods: A retrospective case series included 44 eyes from 28 patients with MSP. The mean prediction error (PE) was calculated, and the accuracy was determined by formula performance index (FPI), median absolute error (MedAE), and percentage of eyes with a PE within ±0.

Background: We investigated the corneal biomechanical properties and their genotype-phenotype correlation correlations in patients with Marfan syndrome (MFS) and ectopia lentis (EL).
Methods: Patients with MFS with EL underwent panel-based next-generation sequencing in this retrospective cohort study. The FBN1 genotypes were categorized into the dominant-negative (DN) group and the haploinsufficiency (HI) group.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-based intraocular lens (IOLs) power calculation formula for improving the accuracy of IOLs power calculations in patients with congenital ectopia lentis (CEL).
Methods: A total of 651 eyes with CEL that underwent IOLs implantation surgery were included in this study. An AI-based ensemble formula-the Jiang Formula, was developed using a training dataset of 520 eyes and evaluated on a testing dataset of 131 eyes.

A regioselective cobalt-catalyzed three-component silylamidation that rapidly and reliably incorporates dioxazolones and silylzinc pivalates into unconjugated alkenyl amides is disclosed. Notably, the unique power of this protocol is demonstrated by the possibility of achieving peptide ligation using peptide-containing dioxazolones or alkenyl amides as the coupling partners. Moreover, this approach is distinguished by its mild condition, synthetic simplicity, and ample scope, thus providing a new platform for modular access to silicon-containing amino acid derivatives and peptides.

Cataract surgery is the only treatment method for EL, but it leads to the loss of accommodative power of the lens post-operatively. Furthermore, the challenge of repairing zonular ligaments remains a significant global issue.

Background/objective: Drug resistance is a challenging problem in the clinical chemotherapy of gastric cancer. Identification of predictive biomarkers for chemotherapy outcomes could improve therapeutic efficacy and patient prognosis. This study aimed to assess the significance of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC02323 in gastric cancer progression and neoadjuvant chemotherapy and to explore its potential regulatory mechanism.

Introduction: Despite prompt and appropriate surgical management, a considerable proportion of patients with congenital ectopia lentis (CEL) suffer from postoperative ametropic amblyopia. To predict and identify at-risk patients early, and ensure timely amblyopia treatment, we conducted a thorough investigation into the onset and progression patterns of postoperative amblyopia in patients with CEL. Moreover, an ocular prediction model was constructed for amblyopia.

This demographic transition has resulted in substantial changes in rural settlements, presenting considerable challenges for rural revitalization. Given the spatial differentiation, it is crucial to analyze the spatiotemporal evolution patterns and driving mechanisms of rural settlements under various development scenarios and at multiple scales within a county.

Olfactory dysfunction is increasingly recognized as an early indicator of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Aberrations in GABAergic function and the excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) balance within the olfactory bulb (OB) have been implicated in olfactory impairment during the initial stages of AD. While the neuregulin 1 (NRG1)/ErbB4 signaling pathway is known to regulate GABAergic transmission in the brain and is associated with various neuropsychiatric disorders, its specific role in early AD-related olfactory impairment remains incompletely understood.

Methods: We conducted targeted next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics analysis to identify potentially pathogenic ASPH variants in the cohort.
Phosphorus is enriched in waste activated sludge (WAS) during wastewater treatment, and organic phosphorus (OP) is a potential slow-release P fertilizer. The chemical coagulants used in sludge dewatering leave numerous residues in WAS that affect sludge composting. In this study, the effects of polyaluminum chloride (PAC) and polyferric sulfate (PFS) on the bioconversion of dissolved OP (DOP) during sludge composting were investigated.
