Background: Periodontitis affects approximately 50% of adults in China and is a leading cause of tooth loss in this population. However, there is a notable paucity of research on knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to periodontitis among patients in Northeast China.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the KAP regarding periodontitis among populations in Northeast China, focusing on 5 demographic factors: gender, age, income, education level, and region.
Post stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a series of common complications caused by stroke, ranging from mild cognitive impairment to dementia, which seriously affects the recovery and living quality of patients. Currently, the diagnosis of PSCI in the clinic mostly relies on subjective scale assessment, the untimeliness and imprecision of results greatly limit the efficient identification as well as the subsequent diagnosis and treatment of PSCI. With the increasing popularity and optimization of bioassay techniques and equipment, more and more studies have identified potential early warning markers of stroke patients with the development of their cognitive deficits through hematological testing or imaging.

In this article, we build on her arguments by highlighting conceptual ambiguities, methodological limitations, and measurement challenges that have contributed to these inconsistencies. We then evaluate the Quality Participation Model of PA and QOL/SWB as a promising framework that positions quality participation as central to enhancing well-being.

However, population-level prevalence is the first step for health policy decision making. Therefore, the aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of meeting the 24-hour movement guidelines among Chinese adults.

However, the abiotic formation pathways to hydrogen trioxide have remained elusive. Here, we demonstrate in laboratory simulation experiments that hydrogen trioxide effectively forms in water-molecular oxygen ice analogs at temperatures as low as 5 kelvin under exposure to proxies of galactic cosmic rays.

Prescribed doses were 30 Gy in 10 fractions to the planning target volume (PTV), with dose escalation to the boost planning target volume (PTV_boost) of either 40 Gy in 10 fractions or 48 Gy in 12 fractions.

Atopic dermatitis (AD), a chronic inflammatory skin disorder, faces diagnostic limitations due to subjective clinical assessments. This study introduces an integrated photoacoustic imaging (PAI)/optical coherence tomography (OCT) system for noninvasive, quantitative evaluation of MC903-induced AD-like dermatitis in mice and Crisaborole efficacy. Multimodal imaging demonstrated Crisaborole's suppression of pathological angiogenesis (50.

Psoriasis is mainly driven by Th17 immune responses, while eczema, notably atopic dermatitis (AD), is Th2-mediated. Spongiotic psoriasiform dermatitis (SD/PSO), a hybrid phenotype of both, lacks precise immunophenotypic characterization and treatment strategies.

Methods: Cross-sectional data on 67,281 students were included. Engagement in MSE was assessed using a specific question, and AP was assessed through self-reported grade in Literacy (Chinese), Mathematics, and Language (English).
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most prevalent form of nonmelanoma skin cancer, with 2.4 million cases annually and significant mortality. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a promising antitumor strategy, and its integration with immunotherapy has garnered attention.

Background: Colorectal subepithelial lesions (SELs) present with similar endoscopic appearance but diverse in histology and prognosis, making precise diagnosis crucial but challenging.
Aim: This study aims to develop a multi-modal endoscopic artificial intelligence (AI) system to facilitate colorectal SELs classification.
Methods: Patients with histologically confirmed colorectal SELs were retrospectively enrolled from 7 hospitals.

Background: T-cell exhaustion is a major barrier to effective antitumor immunity and limits the efficacy of cancer immunotherapies. This study investigates the role of suppressor of T-cell signaling 2 (STS2, also known as UBASH3A) in regulating CD8 T-cell exhaustion within the tumor microenvironment.
Methods: We used genetic ablation of STS2 in mouse models to assess tumor control and responses to anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) checkpoint blockade therapy.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) critically regulate tumorigenesis and chemosensitivity. Despite the pivotal role of lncRNAs in breast cancer (BC), their specific functions and underlying mechanism, particularly in the context of drug resistance, remain largely unexplored. We discovered that MNX1-AS1 is significantly elevated in BC and contributes to paclitaxel resistance through the PI3K/AKT pathway.

Methods: Laboratory mice knocked out for type I interferon (IFN) receptors (Ifnar-/-) were used to develop a simulated host by intraperitoneal infection with Bandavirus dabieense (SFTSV). Urine and fecal samples were collected 4 days post-infection and analyzed to detect differential volatile metabolites (DVMs) during infection.
Background: Evidence for the benefits of resveratrol (Res) in the treatment of asthma is progressively accumulating. However, the full spectrum of its molecular targets and the precise mechanisms remain incompletely characterized.
Method: Targets of Res were obtained from Swiss Target Prediction, TCMCP, and DrugBank.

Background: The attractiveness of mosquitoes to humans varies among individuals, with human volatile organic compounds (VOCs) playing a pivotal role in the mosquitoes' host-seeking behavior. Differences between human volatiles detected by GC-MS can effectively modulate mosquito host selection.
Methods: Participants were enrolled and then assessed for mosquito attraction via an olfactometer.
The significance of 2-deoxy glycosides in biologically active compounds is well-established, as they frequently play a pivotal role in modulating the efficacy of therapeutic agents. The 2-deoxy sugar embodies a distinctive class of carbohydrates characterized by marked differences in stability, reactivity, and selectivity compared to their counterparts bearing C2-oxygen or other heteroatoms. As a result, the stereoselective synthesis of this carbohydrate class is complicated by its sensitivity to acidic conditions and propensity for hydrolysis and elimination reactions.

At present, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are a common treatment for breast cancer, but they will attack normal cells and cancer cells indiscriminately, resulting in a series of serious adverse reactions such as immune system damage, bone marrow suppression, and digestive system damage. Here, we have developed a fluorescent probe (Rhod-ben) that can achieve diagnosis and imaging in breast cancer tissue. The mechanism is as follows: (1) In mitochondria overexpressing ROS (reactive oxygen species), HRhod-ben (non-fluorescent) is oxidized to Rhod-ben (fluorescent), thereby achieving mitochondrial localization in breast cancer cells.

Background: The combination of cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i) with endocrine therapy (ET) has emerged as an effective alternative to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) for patients with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) -negative breast cancer (BC). This single-center study retrospectively evaluated the efficacy and safety of dalpiciclib combined with an aromatase inhibitor (AI) compared to NCT.
Methods: The clinicopathological data and treatment details of patients with HR+ HER2 negative BC who underwent either neoadjuvant endocrine therapy (NET) or NCT were collected from the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University.
2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenyl-imidazo [4,5-b] pyridine (PhIP) is a harmful compound that is formed during the high-temperature processing of meat products, and the risk of cancer may be increased with the prolonged intake of foods containing high levels of PhIP. This study aimed to develop an innovative detection method specifically for PhIP in meat products. Utilizing hydrogel-molecular-imprinting electrochemical sensing technology, the preparation conditions of molecularly imprinted hydrogels (MIHs) were optimized.
