Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most prevalent form of nonmelanoma skin cancer, with 2.4 million cases annually and significant mortality. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a promising antitumor strategy, and its integration with immunotherapy has garnered attention.

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most common non-melanoma skin cancer, among which 82% arise from actinic keratosis (AK) characterized by lesions of epidermal keratinocyte dysplasia. It is of great significance to uncover the progression mechanisms from AK to cSCC, which will facilitate the early therapeutic intervention of AK before malignant transformation. Thus, more and more studies are trying to ascertain the potential transformation mechanisms through multi-omics, including genetics, transcriptomics, and epigenetics.

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most common skin cancer, originating from the malignant proliferation of squamous epithelial cells. However, its pathogenesis remains unclear. To further explore the mechanisms underlying cSCC, we analyzed the data from one single-cell RNA sequencing study and discovered a significant upregulation of tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO2) in the cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs).

Franch is mainly produced in southwest China. The region has a vast area and rich climate, which has an impact on the quality of the plants due to the differences in distribution between the origins. There is a lack of systematic research on its chemical compounds in the existing literature, and fewer studies have been reported for the active compounds of this plant.

Porokeratotic adnexal ostial nevus (PAON) is a rare adnexal hamartoma characterized by keratotic papules following Blaschko's lines, typically located on the unilateral distal extremities. Cutaneous somatic GJB2 mutations have been linked to the pathogenesis of PAON. However, the genetic mechanism underlying bilateral or extended forms, which are less documented, remains unknown.

Article Synopsis
  • Hidradenocarcinoma is a rare but aggressive skin cancer that often recurs and spreads, posing serious health risks.
  • Researchers have limited treatment options for this condition, making effective management challenging.
  • A successful case is reported where a combination of 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy and local excision led to no recurrence of the cancer in an elderly woman after one year.

Objective: To report clinical results of non-Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (nDSAEK) to treat graft failure after penetrating keratoplasty.

Methods: It was a retrospective case series study. Five cases of grafts failure after penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) were enrolled in this study.

Objective: D-dimer and C-reactive protein are of diagnostic and predictive values in patients have thrombotic tendency, such as vascular thrombosis, coronary artery disease and aortic dissection. However, the comparative study in these biomarkers between the patients with acute aortic dissection and coronary artery disease has not been sufficiently elucidated.

Methods: Consecutive surgical patients for acute type A aortic dissection (20 patients), aortic aneurysm (nine patients) or coronary artery disease (20 patients) were selected into this study.
