As urbanization accelerates and ecological protection demands increase, the evolution of land use patterns and their driving mechanisms have become critical issues for regional sustainable development. This study focuses on the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle as the research area, utilizing land use data from 2000 to 2022. By employing the land use transfer matrix, dynamic degree and stability index, standard deviational ellipse method, and the PLUS model integrated with the random forest algorithm, we systematically analyze the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of land use and the contribution of driving factors.

Electron-deficient nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocycles, particularly pyridine derivatives, can be converted into all-carbon aromatic frameworks via the ANRORC (Addition of Nucleophile, Ring-Opening, and Ring-Closing) skeletal editing process, providing a convenient tool for molecular diversification. However, reported methods are mainly limited to nucleophilic modification of ring-opening species. Herein, we report a distinct electrophilic modification method, smoothly converting pyridines into arene-1,3-dialdehydes or naphthalene-1,3-dialdehydes.

Scaffold hopping is a key strategy in drug discovery. While one-to-one scaffold hopping strategies are thriving and evolving, one-to-multiple strategies remain challenging to design. We present here a distinct scaffold hopping strategy for the skeletal editing of pyrimidines into a wide range of heteroarenes through the addition of nucleophiles, ring-opening, fragmentation, and ring-closing (ANROFRC) processes.

Ammonia is a carrier of high-energy density and a key component of agricultural fertilizers. Conventionally, the large-scale Haber-Bosch synthesis of ammonia necessitates harsh temperatures and pressures in excess of >500 °C and >200 atm, respectively, leading to considerable greenhouse gas emissions. Simultaneously, the intense use of nitrogen fertilizers and their discharge as agricultural waste have resulted in widespread nitrate accumulation in aquatic environments, posing serious risks to human health and ecological balance.

Nitrogen and sulfur co-doped yellow-green fluorescent carbon dots (N,SCDs) were synthesized using thiourea and 5-sulfo salicylic acid as raw materials through a one-step microwave solid-phase method. A series of characterizations, including transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), UV-Vis spectrum, and fluorescent spectrum, were conducted, revealing that N,SCDs are carbon dots with an average size of approximately 5.65 nm.

As a key diagnostic biomarker for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the sensitive detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is crucial for early-stage disease detection and monitoring. However, the existing detection methods still have limitations in terms of sensitivity, cost and operational simplicity. In this study, we successfully constructed a novel sandwich-structured electrochemical biosensor based on a methylene blue (MB)-based signal indication system, leveraging the synergistic effects of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), to realize the efficient quantitative analysis of ctDNA.

Functional brain network (FBN) analysis based on fMRI has proven effective for neurological/mental disorder classification. Traditional methods usually separate the FBN construction from the subsequent classification tasks, resulting in a suboptimal solution. Recently, transformers, known for their attention mechanisms, have shown strong performance in various tasks, including brain disorder classification.

Background: The glymphatic system (GS), responsible for clearing neurotoxic proteins (such as β-amyloid and tau protein), is critical in stroke pathophysiology. However, its role in acute post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) remains unclear. We investigated GS dysfunction via the DTI-ALPS index in acute subcortical infarct patients and its association with early cognitive decline.

The extremely fast charging/discharging of nickel-rich LiNiCoMnO (NCM) cathodes has raised concerns about rapid capacity decay. The birth defects and fragile lattice result in the sluggish Li diffusion kinetics and unfavorable structural degradation. Moreover, lattice strain, mechanical failures, surface reconstruction, and interfacial side reactions accelerate the decay process.

Ultra-deep carbonate reservoirs in the Permian Qixia Formation of the Sichuan Basin, particularly those exceeding 7000 m in depth, have emerged as a significant focus for exploration and development. However, production capacities between adjacent wells can vary by up to two orders of magnitude due to the multi-scale heterogeneity of pore connectivity, which poses challenges for accurately predicting well performance. This study utilizes thin-section analysis, high-pressure mercury injection (HPMI), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and other techniques to investigate pore connectivity in ultra-deep reservoirs.

Real-time and high-efficient detection of food additives is of great significance for global public health. As a popular biosensor, colorimetric detection has been widely applied in various fields, including the food industry. However, owing to the complex structure, weak ROS-catalytic activities and unclear catalytic mechanism, recently reported biocatalysts as biosensors still face major challenges in achieving high-efficient and multimodal aspects.

Melanin produced by melanocytes, primarily determines human skin color and protects against ultraviolet radiation. However, excessive melanin deposition can lead to skin conditions such as freckles, age spots, and moles, potentially causing aesthetic concerns and psychological distress. Consequently, there is significant research interest in developing safe and effective whitening products that inhibit melanin synthesis.

A Co(III)-catalyzed dual C-C coupling of sterically hindered tertiary allylic alcohols (TAA) with aldehydes via carbon-skeleton rearrangement has been developed. This transformation features a cascade 1,3-aryl transposition and highly regioselective cross-coupling at the C2- and C3- positions of TAA. The combination of experimental and computational studies revealed the synergetic mechanism of Co(III)-catalysts and B(CF) to enable β-aryl elimination and direct selective trapping of reactive intermediates.

The electro-Fenton process is considered one of the most reliable techniques for eliminating organic pollutants from water. However, its performance is still not up to par with its potential due to the lack of cathodic catalysts with the essential cycling catalytic functionality required for sustained Fenton reactions. Herein, Fe and FeO heterojunctions embedded in N-doped carbon nanotubes stitched on porous nitrogen-doped carbon (denoted Fe/FeO@PNC) are fabricated and employed as a bifunctional cathode catalyst for the highly efficient degradation of organic pollutants.
