Pathologic image analysis is important for providing fundamental references for the clinical diagnosis of breast cancer. Although many methods have achieved outstanding performance in the pathologic image segmentation of breast cancer, there are still two issues limiting further development in this task. First, diverse and complex appearances exist within the observed scope for the same type of breast cancer.

August 2025

School of Education and Psychological Science, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering, Zigong, Sichuan, China.

Introduction: Helping behavior is a fundamental aspect of social interaction, yet little is known about how accurately helpers can predict the emotional responses of help-seekers, particularly when interacting with strangers.

Methods: This study investigated social prediction errors in helping behavior between strangers and examined how outcomes and contexts influence these errors. In three scenario-based experiments, we assessed helpers' predictions and help-seekers' evaluations of gratitude, satisfaction, enthusiasm, and competence across different helping situations.

In order to solve the problems of modulation signals in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), such as poor feature extraction ability, strong dependence on single modal data, and insufficient recognition accuracy, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional feature MFCA-transformer recognition network that integrates phase, frequency and power information. The network uses Triple Dynamic Feature Fusion (TDFF) to fuse constellation, time-frequency, and power spectrum features through the adaptive dynamic mechanism to improve the quality of feature fusion. A Channel Prior Convolutional Attention (CPCA) module is introduced to solve the problem of insufficient information interaction between different channels in multi-dimensional feature recognition tasks, promote information transmission between various feature channels, and enhance the recognition ability of the model for complex features.

Rice wine is a beverage rich in flavor, but the flavor difference caused by rice raw materials has received little attention. To determine the key aroma compounds in rice wine, four types of samples were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), gas chromatography-olfactometry (GC-O), and sensory evaluation. Thirty-eight aroma compounds were detected in the experiment, thirteen of which were identified and quantified using the internal standard method.

Insights into heterogenetic mechanism in physicochemical driving factors, microbial community and volatile metabolites during high-temperature Daqu fermentation by traditional stacking and shelf stacking.

J Sci Food Agric

August 2025

Key Laboratory of Industrial Fermentation Microbiology Ministry of Education, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Industrial Microbiology, College of Biotechnology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin, China.

Background: Research on shelf-stacking fermentation is growing, with the aim of reducing labor and improving Daqu stability, but it still falls short compared to traditional stacking fermentation, especially for high-temperature Daqu (HTD). The heterogenetic mechanisms underlying+ these two Daqu remain unclear.

Results: The improved micro-oxygen environment in shelf-stacking fermentation significantly reduced acidity and increased liquefaction and esterification activities compared to traditionally stacked HTD (HTD-T).

Acute alcohol consumption is known to impair visual perception, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Visual perception is influenced by visual attention, which comprises two distinct components: endogenous (voluntary) and exogenous (involuntary) attention. This study investigated how a moderate alcohol dose alters attentional modulation of visual perception.

Direct conversion of waste CO avoids CO capture and lowers the cost of CO utilisation; however, this route remains a challenging research topic. Developing catalysts that facilitate the enrichment and conversion of waste CO is therefore essential. Porous polymer catalysts offer unique advantages due to their high surface area and tunable functionality.

This study systematically investigated the effects of multiple freeze-thaw(F-T)cycles using four thawing methods on the foaming characteristics of egg white proteins and their regulatory mechanisms. The results indicated that the foaming capacity of air and water bath thawed samples increased with the number of F-T cycles. In contrast, vacuum thawing significantly reduced the foaming capacity, while ultrasonic thawing exhibited the optimal foaming capacity.

August 2025

College of Materials and Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (College of Lithium Resources and Lithium Battery Industry), Chengdu University of Technology, Chengdu, 610059, China.

Hard carbon (HC) is a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries due to its affordability, substantial sodium storage capacity, and low sodium intercalation potential. However, it suffers from low initial coulombic efficiency (ICE). Herein, an innovative acetylene-mediated strategy is proposed to tailor the heteroatom content and pore structure of anthracite-derived HC.

National Engineering Laboratory of Circular Economy, Sichuan University of Science and Engineering, Zigong, 643000, PR China; National Postdoctoral Research Station, Haitian Water Group, Chengdu, 610000, PR China. Electronic address:

Acquiring weak electron signals from electroactive bacteria is critical for biosensing, wastewater treatment, and life science applications. However, current microbial electrochemical techniques are inefficient in capturing these signals at microscale. While organic electrochemical transistors can amplify signals exponentially, they lack an effective cathodic reaction to sustain electroactive bacterial dominant communities.

Designing efficient, biocompatible radiation-sensitive materials to activate systemic immune responses can maximize tumoricidal effects against malignant tumors. Here, inspired by natural Mn-peroxidase, we propose the de novo design of the RuMn-oxygen complex (MnBTC-Ru) for biocatalytic and radiosensitization therapies to eradicate primary and metastatic tumors. Our results reveal that Mn-organic ligands can enhance the electron density of Ru clusters, thereby optimizing their binding to oxygen species and resulting in high reactive oxygen species and oxygen generation.

To improve semantic segmentation performance for complex urban remote sensing images with multi-scale object distribution, class similarity, and small object omission, this paper proposes MFPI-Net, an encoder-decoder-based semantic segmentation network. It includes four core modules: a Swin Transformer backbone encoder, a diverse dilation rates attention shuffle decoder (DDRASD), a multi-scale convolutional feature enhancement module (MCFEM), and a cross-path residual fusion module (CPRFM). The Swin Transformer efficiently extracts multi-level global semantic features through its hierarchical structure and window attention mechanism.

Continued development of high-performance, low-cost, in vitro diagnostic tools is critical for cancer diagnosis and therapeutic prognosis. Herein, we propose a four-response ratiometric electrochemical homogeneous biosensor based on positive MOF biomaterial for detection of the estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2), and cell proliferation index (Ki67) protein biomarkers, and for simultaneous diagnosis of 10 types of breast cancer directly in human serum using a single electrode within one system. The principle of this specific four-response ratiometric electrochemical biosensor relied on neutral red (NR), tolonium blue (TB), tetramethylbenzidine (TMB), and malachite green (MG) loaded on the surface of UiO-66-NH.
