Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editor's attention by a concerned reader that the control GADPH western blots shown in Fig. 5D were strikingly simillar to three lanes in the GAPDH panel shown in Fig. 4D, even though the experimental conditions reported in these figure parts were different, suggesting that one of these figures may have been assembled incorrectly.

Gut microbiomes are profoundly important to host health. In apiculture, antibiotics frequently used to exclude bacterial pathogens can be detrimental to the honeybee gut microbiota and host fitness, generally from larvae to adults. However, the mechanisms underlying these persistent effects remain largely unknown.

Background: Soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (sTREM2) was reported to induce inflammatory responses, enhance microglial survival, and contribute to the development of neurodegenerative disorders. We aimed to prospectively investigate the association between plasma sTREM2 levels and poststroke depression (PSD).

Methods: We measured plasma sTREM2 levels in 590 patients with ischemic stroke from 7 participating hospitals of the CATIS (China Antihypertensive Trial in Acute Ischemic Stroke) trial.

Bone fracture healing is a complex physiologic process that aims at restoring the damaged bone to its pre-injury state and cellular composition. Exosomes secreted by bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are emerging as a promising strategy to promote bone regeneration due to exosomal bioactive cargos. Furthermore, N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) methylation affects osteoblastic differentiation and bone remodeling.

A visible-light-mediated radical cascade arylcarboxylation/cyclization of -alkyl--methacryloylbenzamides and -alkyl--arylmethacrylamides with carbon dioxide (CO) was established. The reactions employed economical CO as the carboxyl source, cesium carbonate as the base, triphenylsilane as the additive, and -Ir(ppy) as the photocatalyst. Novel 1,3-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-4-ylacetic acid derivatives and oxindole-3-acetic acid derivatives were obtained in moderate to good yields.

The Ocimum genus, valued for its culinary, medicinal, and aromatic uses, is often cultivated in regions affected by drought and salinity. This study investigates the adaptive responses of QingFeng (QF), a newly identified basil cultivar locally known as vegetable "jingjie" in China, to high salinity and drought stress. DNA barcoding, mucilaginous seed analysis, flow cytometry, and karyotyping confirmed QF's identity, revealing a chromosome number of 2n = 76 and a 1C genome size of 2962 ± 36 Mb.

Sarcosine has been reported to improve ischemic tolerance in animal models of brain ischemia, but population-based evidence from patients with ischemic stroke is lacking. We conducted a multicenter prospective study to investigate the associations between plasma sarcosine levels and adverse outcomes among patients with ischemic stroke. We measured plasma sarcosine levels among 3473 patients with ischemic stroke from 26 hospitals across China.

Background: This study analyzed the clinical features of central nervous system involvement (CNS3) in pediatric anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and evaluated the CNCL-ALCL-2017 treatment protocol efficacy.

Methods: The clinical data of 215 pediatric ALCL patients aged ≤18 years, including 16 with CNS3, treated following the CNCL-ALCL-2017 protocol, were enrolled. Independent risk factors of CNS3 were determined using multi-factor logistic regression analysis, and survival curves were constructed.

Background: Most patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have progressed to the intermediate or advanced stage when diagnosed and are ineligible for curative therapies. The currently available therapeutic options, including ablation, radioembolization, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), and systemic treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), provide limited survival benefits. Studies have suggested that the combination treatment may provide better therapeutic outcomes as compared to individual treatments.

ObjectivesConstitutive promoters have been widely studied and utilized in silkworm resistance breeding and expression of beneficial proteins, but there is limited research comparing the activities of different promoters across various source cell.MethodsThis study screened three promoters, namely, the gene promoter (p) of nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmNPV), the cytoplasmic actin 3 promoter (p) and the cytoplasmic actin 4 promoter (p). Enhancer fragments hr3 and hr5 were combined with the three promoters to driving the expression of luciferase () and vacuolar-type ATPase c ().

Triclosan (TCS), an antimicrobial agent commonly found in personal care products and disinfectants, has raised concerns due to its potential risks for human health and environment. In this study, we observed and investigated an avoidance response in Arabidopsis roots, which exhibited directional growth away from TCS-containing medium. Genetic screening of the mutants impaired in salt stress, abscisic acid (ABA), cytokinin, and auxin signaling pathways revealed that polar auxin transport is essential for mediating this TCS-induced root response.

Copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) are widely used in nanotechnology due to their cost-effectiveness and unique catalytic properties, yet their large-scale synthesis with high activity, stability, and practicality remains challenging. We present an efficient top-down strategy for ultralarge-scale synthesis of uniformly dispersed ultrafine copper nanoparticles/copper(II)-benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate (CuNPs/Cu-BTC or CuNPs/HKUST-1, HKUST = Hong Kong University of Science and Technology) using inexpensive copper powder under ambient conditions. Comprehensive characterization (X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) analysis) confirmed the successful synthesis of the catalyst featuring 9 nm CuNPs (18% Cu content) uniformly anchored to the metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).

To address existing issues in water extraction from SAR images based on deep learning, such as confusion between mountain shadows and water bodies and difficulty in extracting complex boundary details for continuous water bodies, the LGFUNet model is proposed. The LGFUNet model consists of three parts: the encoder-decoder, the DECASPP module, and the LGFF module. In the encoder-decoder, the Swin-Transformer module is used instead of convolution kernels for feature extraction, enhancing the learning of global information and improving the model's ability to capture the spatial features of continuous water bodies.

An efficient and green one-pot four-component strategy for the synthesis of β-keto phosphorodithioates via difunctionalization of alkenes using air as the oxygen source and cheap phosphorus pentasulfide (PS) as the sulfur and phosphorus source has been successfully reported at room temperature. This method features simple operation, mild conditions, step economy, wide range of substrates, and the avoidance of moisture-sensitive reagents/pre-functionalized substrates. These advantages of this electrochemical protocol are consistent with the concept of green synthetic chemistry, providing a straightforward and efficient pathway to synthesize β-keto phosphorodithioate derivatives.

Objective: To explore the association between baseline remnant cholesterol (RC) levels and post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) at three months following the event.

Methods: The data utilized in this research originated from a pre-arranged subsidiary investigation of the China Antihypertensive Trial in Acute Ischemic Stroke (CATIS). RC levels were determined using the formula: RC (mmol/L) = total cholesterol (TC) - low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) - high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and cognitive function was assessed by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) at three months post-stroke.
