The lithium-carbon dioxide (Li-CO) battery is a promising energy storage technology that integrates CO utilization with energy storage and conversion. However, its development is hindered by slow reaction kinetics and insulating LiCO discharge products deposited at the cathode, which cause severe polarization and rapid capacity degradation. Herein, novel Cu-based catalysts with multiple active sites anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon (Cu/NC) are developed to achieve highly efficient Li-CO batteries.

Aims: To characterize the complex relationships of body mass index (BMI) and triglyceride-glucose index (TyG) with 5-year all-cause mortality in patients with diabetes mellitus and comorbid hypertension.

Methods: Overall, 5,728 patients from the 1999-2014 US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) cycles and 3,456 from the 2005-2010 China Kailuan cycles were included. TyG was calculated as the logarithmic product of the fasting triglyceride and glucose concentrations.

Multiple studies demonstrated that nutritional risk and malnutrition were associated with prolonged hospitalization, extended rehabilitation duration, and increased mortality among patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVD). However, current research on dietary behaviors and nutritional status in hospitalized CVD patients remains insufficient. This study systematically evaluated the concordance between cardiology inpatients' and clinicians' subjective nutritional status assessments and objective energy and protein intake achievement rates, while comprehensively investigating the multidimensional associations among Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS 2002), Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM), blood parameters, and dietary intake.

Aims: Lipid-lowering drugs are commonly prescribed for prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD), but their efficacy in people aged ≥75 years is less understood. This population-based cohort study aimed to examine the association of lipid-lowering drug treatment with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among people aged ≥75 years and whether the association, if existent, varied with patient characteristics.

Methods And Results: A nationally representative sample of 6409 adults aged ≥75 years and without CVD at baseline was drawn from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III) conducted between 1988 and 1994 and the 10 continuous NHANES cycles between 1999-2000 and 2017-18 in the USA.

Background: Atrial fibrillation and flutter (AF/AFL) are increasingly recognized as major contributors to global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Emerging evidence implicates environmental lead exposure as a modifiable risk factor for AF/AFL, yet the global burden and trends of AF/AFL attributable to lead exposure remain poorly characterized.

Methods: We used data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 to estimate mortality, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and temporal trends in AF/AFL attributable to lead exposure from 1990 to 2021, with projections to 2030.

Physical inactivity is a major global public health concern, contributing to the rising burden of chronic diseases and mental health issues. Despite its known health benefits, physical activity levels remain insufficient, particularly among college students, posing significant risks to their physical and psychological well-being. To address this, a cross-sectional study with 406 university students was conducted in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China, including 280 females and 126 males, all aged between 18 and 21.

Purpose: To evaluate organs-at-risk (OARs) segmentation variability across eight commercial AI-based segmentation software using independent multi-institutional datasets, and to provide recommendations for clinical practices utilizing AI-segmentation.

Methods: 160 planning CT image sets from four anatomical sites: head-and-neck, thorax, abdomen and pelvis were retrospectively pooled from three institutions. Contours for 31 OARs generated by the software were compared to clinical contours using multiple accuracy metrics, including: Dice similarity coefficient (DSC), 95 Percentile of Hausdorff distance (HD95), surface DSC, as well as relative added path length (RAPL) as an efficiency metric.

Anxiety disorders are prevalent mental health conditions with significant impacts on quality of life. While the melatonin type 2 receptor (MT2) has been implicated in anxiety, its specific role and neural mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates the deficiency of MT2 induces robust anxiety-like phenotypes in mice, mediated through anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) dysfunction.

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease requiring long-term therapy, where adherence critically impacts outcomes. Non-adherence remains a significant barrier to disease control, particularly in China, where healthcare disparities persist.

Objectives: This scoping review aimed to systematically map the existing evidence on the frequency, barriers and facilitators of treatment adherence among Chinese patients with SLE and to identify gaps to guide future research and interventions.

In today's market, consumers appear to be less interested in promotional strategies, particularly those that rely on text-based advertisements. Graphic storytelling can be seen as providing a more engaging visual approach to attract audiences and is increasingly being used by marketers and food packaging designers. However, the questions of whether and how graphic storytelling influences consumers' purchase intentions remain underexplored.

Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), are non-invasive techniques used to quantify biochemical compounds in tissue, such as choline, creatine, glutamate, glutamine, -aminobutyric acid, N-acetylaspartate, etc. However, reliable quantification of MRS and MRSI data is challenging due to the complex processing steps involved, often requiring advanced expertise. Existing data processing software solutions often demand MRS expertise or coding knowledge, presenting a steep learning curve for novel users.

Proton therapy delivers highly conformal doses to the target area without producing an exit dose, minimizing cumulative doses to healthy liver tissue. This study aims to evaluate current practices, challenges, and variations in the implementation of proton stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and hypofractionated therapy for liver malignancies, with the goal of providing a technical assessment to promote broader adoption and support future clinical trials. : An extensive survey was conducted by NRG Oncology across North American proton treatment centers to assess the current practices of proton liver SBRT and hypofractionated therapy.

Animal food formulations, particularly meat and related products, are essential components of the global food supply. However, their quality is highly vulnerable to deterioration during frozen storage due to ice crystal formation, protein denaturation, and moisture loss. This review outlines the key challenges associated with freezing preservation and highlights the increasing interest in naturally derived saccharides as safe and effective alternatives to conventional cryoprotectants such as glycerol and dimethyl sulfoxide.

NKD1 is a known suppressor of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. However, our previous study revealed that NKD1 could promote the proliferation and migration of colon cancer cells, enhancing colon cancer progression via unknown mechanisms. In the present study, we found that peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor δ (PPARδ) is a transcription factor of the NKD1 gene.

In recent years, the incidence of multiple primary lung cancer (MPLC) has been increasing, and it cannot be ignored in clinical practice. The treatment of MPLC is still controversial, but surgical treatment is recognized as the most important treatment. However, current studies have shown that the treatment of MPLC needs to develop multimodal treatment according to different patients.

The apical extracellular matrix (aECM) plays a critical role in epithelial tube morphogenesis during organ formation, but its composition and organization remain poorly understood. Using the embryonic salivary gland (SG) as a model, we identify Papss, an enzyme that synthesizes the universal sulfate donor PAPS, as a critical regulator of tube lumen expansion. mutants show a disorganized apical membrane, condensed aECM, and disruptions in Golgi structures and intracellular trafficking.
