Under the guidance of anion templates VO and SO, the novelty of cluster assembly can be increased by using different carboxylate ligands. Herein, the synthesis, crystal structure and electrochemical properties of three anion-templated silver thiolated clusters are reported, namely VO@Ag(PrS)(CFCO)(DMF) (1), VO@Ag(PrS)(CFCO)(PhCO)(DMF) (2), and [SO@Ag(PrS)(PTA)(HPTA)] (3, HPTA = phthalic acid). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis showed that 1 and 2 are discrete clusters VO@Ag.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious threat to human health, but an effective targeted therapy for COPD is still lacking at present. During the progression of COPD, the epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) ensures the remodeling of pulmonary epithelial cells, and it could not be precisely targeted due to its complex and elusive mechanism. In this study, we determined that the TLR2/MMP9 axis is upregulated in the pulmonary monocytes in cigarette smoke (CS)-induced COPD mice.

Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) have the great potential to improve traffic flow because of their particular characteristics of connectivity and automation. This study aims to develop CAV control strategies based on car-following speed balance, which are defined as dynamic speed limit (DSL) strategies, and examine their performances on reducing freeway collision risks via microscopic simulations. The core idea of DSL strategy is to command the CAVs to slow down actively before reaching the bottlenecks, and form moving barriers to guide the following human driven vehicles to passively decelerate.

The cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase-stimulator of interferon genes-TANK-binding kinase 1-interferon regulating factor 3 (cGAS-STING-TBK1-IRF3) axis is now acknowledged as the major signaling pathway in innate immune responses. However, 2',3'-cGAMP as a STING stimulator is easily recognized and degraded by ecto-nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1 (ENPP1), which reduces the effect of tumor immunotherapy and promotes metastatic progression. In this investigation, the structure-based virtual screening strategy was adopted to discover eight candidate compounds containing zinc-binding quinazolin-4(3H)-one scaffold as ENPP1 inhibitors.

We have demonstrated that Fuzheng Huayu Recipe(FZHY) plays an anti-liver fibrosis role by regulating the polarization of intrahepatic macrophages, while the key targets in macrophages and the effective components of FZHY remain unclear. In this study, we obtained the potential anti-liver fibrosis target set of FZHY through network pharmacological analysis, and the differentially expressed gene set of FZHY for the prevention and treatment of mouse liver fibrosis through RNA-Seq of the liver tissue. The potential core targets of FZHY against liver fibrosis were obtained by degree value analysis of the common target proteins between the above two sets.

Microplastics (MPs) pollution has been recognized as a threat to sustainable fisheries due to the risks of MPs contamination in the process of feed production and susceptibility of fish to ingest MPs from the aquatic environment. In this study, we applied comprehensive approaches to investigate the impacts of polyethylene microplastics (PE-MPs) on juvenile genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT, Oreochromis niloticus) through 9-week dietary exposure based on growth performance, gut microbiota, liver metabolism, and gene expressions in brain and liver tissues. Dietary exposure to two kinds of PE-MPs with different median size (27 μm and 63 μm, respectively) concentration-dependently decreased weight gain (WG), while increased feed conversion ratio (FCR) and hepatosomatic index (HSI) of the tilapia.

To assess the role of dietary creatine on myofibre characteristics and protein synthesis in muscle, we fed grass carp (, initial body weight: 88·47 ± 1·44 g) creatine-supplemented diets (1·84, 5·91, 8·48 and 15·44 g/kg diet) for 8 weeks. Creatine supplementation did not affect growth performance, but significantly increased creatine contents in muscle and liver. At 8·48 g/kg, creatine decreased the activities of alanine transaminase and aspartate aminotransferase in serum and improved hardness and chewiness of muscle due to shorter myofibre mean diameter, higher myofibre density and the frequencies of the diameters of classes I and III and collagen content, longer sarcomere length and upregulated mRNA levels of slow myosin heavy chains.
