Objectives: To investigate the effect of interferon-λ1 (IFN-λ1) on glucocorticoid (GC) resistance in human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs) stimulated by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Methods: HBECs were divided into five groups: control, dexamethasone, IFN-λ1, RSV, and RSV+IFN-λ1. CCK-8 assay was used to measure the effect of different concentrations of IFN-λ1 on the viability of HBECs, and the sensitivity of HBECs to dexamethasone was measured in each group.

Background: Ischemic stroke is a disease in which local ischemia and hypoxia of brain tissues are caused by obstruction of blood vessels in the brain, which in turn triggers brain tissue damage and neurological dysfunction. Recent studies have made significant progress in understanding the role of exosomes in ischemic stroke. Exosomes exhibit anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-apoptotic, angiogenic, and neuroregenerative effects, as well as glial scar reduction and drug delivery effects in ischemic stroke.

Application of lean management in medical laboratories to help treat patients with acute stroke.

This study investigated the application effect of lean management in the treatment of acute stroke in medical laboratories and evaluated the impact on laboratory turnaround time (TAT) and operator satisfaction. In this study, 287 patients with acute stroke were selected from the Second People's Hospital of Hunan Province and divided into a control group (129 cases, before lean management) and an experimental group (158 cases, after lean management). Lean management measures included establishing fast transfer channels, information management, optimisation of the centrifuge configuration, priority management, personnel training, use of the 6 S method, and visual management to optimise the process.

Bone metastatic lesions typically associate with suboptimal responses to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies. In this study, we observed that across multiple clinical cohorts and a variety of mouse models, the presence of osseous metastases induces ICB resistance in extraosseous tumors. Mechanistically, this long-distance communication is mediated by osseous tumor-conditioned osteoclasts producing osteopontin (OPN).

Methods: Discarded synovial tissue collected from patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty at our hospital was digested with type I collagenase.
