Background: The proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) significantly contribute to vascular remodeling. Recent studies have suggested that enhancer-associated long noncoding RNAs (elncRNAs) play crucial roles in regulating gene expression and cell fate. However, the specific elncRNAs implicated in VSMC dysfunction and their regulatory mechanisms remain poorly understood.

However, the amplification efficiency of conventional PER is generally unsatisfactory due to its linear signal-amplifying mechanism. In this study, we developed a ersatile olorimetric platform by rationally integrating rimer xchange reaction with efficient oop-mediated isothermal mplification (LAMP), termed vcPeLa, for the rapid and sensitive detection of cancer-related biomarkers, such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA).

Background: Several studies have demonstrated a notable increase in the incidence of atrial arrhythmias among individuals with atrial septal defect (ASD) occluder. Although the sequential dilation technique has been proposed as the mainstream technique for transseptal puncture with ASD occluder, it is associated with substantial risks and technical difficulties.
Case Summary: We report a patient who underwent catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and had a large ASD occluder.

Background: Different left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices have been introduced into the clinical setting. A new dual-seal mechanism LACbes® occluder with isogenous barbs for LAAC has been designed to facilitate easier delivery and improve safety. The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical outcomes of the WATCHMAN with those of the LACbes® device for LAAC.

Dyslipidaemia often presents as an elevated concentration of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and a decreased concentration of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Therefore, accurately measuring the levels of LDL and HDL particles is crucial for assessing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

There is an urgent demand for a simple yet extremely accurate biosensor to analyze tumorigenesis. Herein, we present a novel fluorescent and enzyme-free approach for detecting p53 gene cascading proximity ligation-mediated catalytic hairpin assembly and DNAzyme-assisted signal reaction. When the target p53 gene is present, the interaction between p53 and L1 and L2 chains initiates catalytic hairpin assembly and subsequently exposes DNAzyme in the P3 probe.

Objective: To investigate the expression of inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase type Ⅱ B (INPP4B) in colorectal cancer (CRC) and the relevant clinical significance, to determine the relationship between INPP4B and matrix metallopeptidase 7 (MMP7) in CRC cells, and to make preliminary exploration of the effects of INPP4B on the proliferation and migration of CRC cells and mechanisms involved.
Methods: The TIMER2.0 and GEPIA2 databases were used to analyze the differences in expression between cancer and para-cancerous tissues and the effects of such differences on the prognosis of CRC.

Temperature is one of the critical factors affecting the physiological functions of fish. With ongoing global warming, changes in water temperature have a profound impact on fish species. Alternative splicing, being a significant mechanism for gene expression regulation, facilitates fish to adapt and thrive in dynamic and varied aquatic environments.

Left atrial appendage (LAA) closure can prevent stroke in high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation.A bioabsorbable LAA occluder made of degradable polymer materials, such as polydioxanone (PDO) and poly-L-lactic acid (PLA), and nitinol wire was used. Occluders were successfully implanted in 18 Chinese rural dogs, 2 of which died within 48 hours after operation due to pericardial tamponade and hemorrhage, respectively.

However, it remains largely unclear how PINK1 and Parkin are expressed in mammalian brains.

Aims: MicroRNA-126 (miR-126), one of the most abundant microRNAs in platelets, is involved in the regulation of platelet activity and the circulating miR-126 is reduced during antiplatelet therapy. However, whether intraplatelet miR-126 plays a role in thrombosis and platelet inhibition remains unclear.
Methods And Results: Here, using tissue-specific knockout mice, we reported that the deficiency of miR-126 in platelets and vascular endothelial cells significantly prevented thrombosis and prolonged bleeding time.
Signal amplification strategies have emerged as a prominent tool in the field of improving the detection sensitivity of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs). It is important to highlight that the utilization of signal quenching strategies is not commonly implemented. A detection technique for sEVs was established based on the unwinding of G-quadruplex using Klenow fragment polymerase (KF), which served as an inspiration for this study.

However, the inevitable drawbacks of lacking enough selectivity greatly hindered further applications of RCA-based approaches. Here, we develop a novel RCA-based approach by integrating the specific target recognition capability of the hairpin/DNA ring ternary complex and multiple signal amplification and successfully applied it for let-7a detection.

Huntington's disease (HD) is an autosomal-dominant inherited neurodegenerative disease caused by a CAG repeat expansion in exon1 of the huntingtin gene (HTT). This expansion leads to the production of N-terminal mutant huntingtin protein (mHtt) that contains an expanded polyglutamine tract, which is toxic to neurons and causes neurodegeneration. While the production of N-terminal mHtt can be mediated by proteolytic cleavage of full-length mHtt, abnormal splicing of exon1-intron1 of mHtt has also been identified in the brains of HD mice and patients.

Accumulated evidence confirmed that microRNA-26 family play critical roles in cardiovascular disease; however, their function in PAH remains largely unknown. Here, we investigated the expression of miR-26 family in plasma from PAH patients using quantitative RT-PCR, and identified miR-26a-5p as the most downregulated member, which was also decreased in hypoxia-induced pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cell (PASMC) autophagy models and lung tissues of PAH patients.
