Aims: MicroRNA-126 (miR-126), one of the most abundant microRNAs in platelets, is involved in the regulation of platelet activity and the circulating miR-126 is reduced during antiplatelet therapy. However, whether intraplatelet miR-126 plays a role in thrombosis and platelet inhibition remains unclear.

Methods And Results: Here, using tissue-specific knockout mice, we reported that the deficiency of miR-126 in platelets and vascular endothelial cells significantly prevented thrombosis and prolonged bleeding time.

Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is among the most widely used plasticizers in plastic production, which has been detected in various environments. However, DEHP safety remains poorly known. Using zebrafish models, the effects of DEHP on the angiogenesis and hematopoiesis, and the underlying mechanism, were studied.

Background: The compound Danshen Dripping Pill (CDDP), which is a mixture of extracts from Radix Salviae and Panax notoginseng, is a patented traditional Chinese medicine that is widely used in multiple countries for relieving coronary heart disease (CHD), but its pharmacological mechanism has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we screened the key pharmacological pathways and targets of CDDP that act on CHD using a network pharmacology-based strategy, and the angiogenic activity of CDDP was directly visually investigated in zebrafish embryos in vivo.

Methods: The potential therapeutic targets and pathways were predicted through a bioinformatics analysis.

Article Synopsis
  • Endothelial cells (ECs) are crucial for blood vessel formation and remodeling, but their diversity during development is not well understood; this study aims to explore the transcriptional differences among embryonic ECs and how these change when the microRNA-126 gene is specifically removed.
  • Using advanced techniques like single-cell RNA sequencing, researchers identified 11 distinct groups of embryonic ECs, noting their greater growth potential compared to adult ECs; disruptions caused by miR-126 knockout were linked to specific vascular problems and metabolic changes.
  • The findings suggest that EC heterogeneity starts in early development and that loss of miR-126 leads to significant disorganization and dysfunction in certain EC populations, which can be partially reversed by introducing

Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of the Chinese medicine (CM) Compound Zhuye Shigao Granule (, CZSG) on acute radiation-induced esophagitis (ARIE) in cancer patients.

Methods: In a blinded, randomized, Kangfuxin Solution (, KFX)-controlled, single-centre clinical trial, 120 patients with lung, esophagus or mediastinal cancer were prospectively enrolled and assigned to the treatment group (60 cases) and control group (60 cases) by the random number table method. All patients received concurrent or sequential radiotherapy (2 Gy per day, 5 times per week, for 4 weeks) and were treated for 4 weeks since the radiation therapy.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Modified Zhuye Shigao Decoction (MZSD) and its components on preventing radiation esophagitis of rats.

Methods: One hundred Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, including the control group, radiation model group, MZSD group, Zhuye Shigao Decoction (ZSD) group, and added ingredients group, 20 rats in each group. The model of radiation esophagitis of rat was established by once local radiation of 40 Gy (330 Mu/min) with a high energy linear accelerator.

Objective: To systematically assess the clinical effectiveness of Chinese medicines for prevention and treatment of radiation esophagitis by meta-analysis.

Methods: The articles were mainly retrieved from the "CHKD (China Hospital Knowledge Database) periodical full text databank", the "China periodical full text databank", the "CHKD doctor's and Master's degree student full text databank", and the "China doctor's degree student thesis databank", and they were selected according to the literature selection standard. The effects of Chinese medicines and Western medicines on radiation esophagitis were compared by meta-analysis.

Phytochemical investigation of 85% ethanol extracts from the roots of Aristolochia fangchi yielded a new aristolactam derivative named 6-methoxyl aristolactam I N-β-glucoside (1), together with four known compounds, aristolactam IVa (2), aristolactam I-β-D-glucoside (3), aristolactam I (4), and aristolactam-N-β-D-glucoside (5). Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis. The cytotoxicity of the isolated compounds was also determined.

Objective: To explore the preventive and therapeutic effects of Compound Zhuye Shigao Granule (CZSG), a compound Chinese herbal medicine, on radiation-induced esophagitis in rats.

Methods: Fifty-six Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: normal control group (8 rats), model group (12 rats), and high-, medium- and low-dose CZSG groups (12 rats in each group). The rats in the normal control and model groups were given normal saline 10 mL/kg body weight and those in the CZSG-treated groups were given solution of CZSG at doses of 1.
