Background: Liver fibrosis in biliary atresia (BA) progresses rapidly and has distinct characteristics; however, current studies have not identified effective prevention or treatment strategies to address this issue.
Methods: BA liver tissues with different degrees of liver fibrosis (n = 4), liver tissues of choledochal cyst (n = 2), and liver tissues of the normal control (NC) group (n = 2) were selected. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial transcriptomics (ST), and Mendelian randomization (MR) were integrated for analysis.

There are 5 existing editions of this book preserved, and stored in library of Shanghai University of TCM, bookstore of Nanjing Ancient Classics, library of Heilongjiang Provincial Institute of TCM, library of Beijing University of CM, and China Academy of Chinese Medicine Sciences, respectively. Different from the official canonical book, this book provides a simplified and easily understandable contents, including 3 sections, named illustrations, prescriptions, and medicinal properties.

Periodontitis, a multifaceted chronic inflammatory disorder affecting the oral cavity, with its etiology intricately linked to oxidative stress. Existing pharmacotherapies for periodontitis often suffer from a lack of target specificity and are challenged by the double demands of mitigating oxidative stress and promoting tissue regeneration in a coordinated, multi-pronged strategy. To address the challenges of "where" and "how", this study synthesizes both guidance and therapeutic dual logic-based Curcumin-Alendronate carbon dots (Cur-Alen CDs).

In recent years, greenhouse gas emissions have significantly increased due to global climate change, causing profound alterations in ecosystem distribution and productivity. The synergistic interplay between climatic shifts and anthropogenic activities is intensifying ecological transformations and disturbances, and accelerating biodiversity depletion.

In the absence of treatment, fibrosis advances rapidly in most affected children. Despite the identification of various factors contributing to fibrosis progression, comprehensive investigations into the microenvironmental alterations within the liver are still scarce.

While several factors influence the migration of eosinophils from peripheral blood to extravascular tissues, the triggers and role of eosinophils near the epithelial layer in CRSwNP remain unclear.
Methods: We examined interactions between eosinophils and epithelial cells using co-culture systems.
Heterogeneity of monocyte-derived macrophages (MDMs) is gradually recognized in polyp tissue of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, the contributions of MDM subsets for sustaining inflammation remain unclear. This study therefore aimed to characterize MDM subsets in polyp tissues and estimate their functions.

Butyrate is also an important inhibitor of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2). This study aims to explore how butyrate alleviates liver fibrosis in BA through HDAC2.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between occupational noise exposure and renal dysfunction in male workers.
Methods: A total of 160 male workers (the number of people who met the inclusion criteria) who underwent health examinations in Qingdao Municipal Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were grouped into a noise group (80 cases) and a control group (80 cases) based on whether they engaged in noise work. We compared the differences in creatinine (CREA), cystatin C (CysC) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels between the two groups.
The outbreak and spread of African swine fever virus (ASFV) have caused considerable economic losses to the pig industry worldwide. Currently, to promote the development of effective ASF vaccines, especially subunit vaccines, more antigenic protein targets are urgently needed. In this work, six transmembrane proteins (I329L, E146L, C257L, EP153R, I177L, and F165R) were expressed in mammalian cell lines and screened with pig anti-ASFV serum.

African swine fever caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV) is an acute, highly contagious swine disease with high mortality. To facilitate effective vaccine development and find more serodiagnostic targets, fully exploring the ASFV antigenic proteins is urgently needed. In this study, the MGF_110-13L was identified as an immunodominant antigen among the seven transmembrane proteins.

In this study, to examine the specific mechanisms that FAM20C influences bone development, we cross-bred Osx-Cre with FAM20C mice to establish a Osx-Cre; FAM20C knockout (oKO) mouse model; FAM20C was KO in pre-osteoblasts. oKO development was examined at 1-10 weeks, in which compared to control FAM20C, they had lower body weights and bone tissue mineralization.

Purpose: To determine the prevalent microbiological profile of biliary atresia (BA) patients at the time of its occurrence by studying their intestinal flora.
Methods: A total of 118 gut microbiota samples from three groups of 43 BA patients, 33 disease controls (DC) with other cholestatic diseases and 42 healthy controls (HC), were analyzed by deep mining of public data. Subsequently, a total of 23 fecal samples from three groups of clinically collected patients (11 BA, 6 DC and 6 HC) were sequenced for 16S rRNA gene amplification and analyzed for serum butyrate (BU) level by liquid chromatography.

The differences in the cognition on the location of "Jiaji" between Taoism and medical science are summarized through literature searching. In the medical field, "Jiaji" is generally described as "Jiaji (point)", which is considered as EX-B 2, while, in Taoism, it is expressed as "Jiaji (pass)", focusing on the crucial parts of the body. Medical scholars lay their attention to the distance of "Jiaji" lateral to the spine, in which "" (place on both sides) is mostly considered.
