Aim: Periodontitis is a common complication of type 2 diabetes. Imperatorin is a traditional Chinese medicinal compound recognized for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-tumor properties. Nevertheless, the impact of imperatorin on chronic periodontitis and chronic periodontitis associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus remains unexplored.

Objectives: The relationship between sleep duration and depressive symptoms remains controversial in middle-aged and older adults. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of sleep duration trajectories with depressive symptoms and conduct further exploration through network analysis.
Methods: Based on the five waves of data on 8681 middle-aged and older adults from 2011 to 2020 in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study database, group-based trajectory modeling was employed to depict their sleep trajectories.
Background And Objectives: Relapse is one of the most critical causes of transplant failure in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) receiving haploidentical-related donor (HID) hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). We aimed to develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-based predictive model for post-transplant relapse in patients with AML receiving HID HSCT.
Methods: This study included patients with consecutive AML (aged ≥ 12 years) receiving HID HSCT in complete remission (CR).

Filamenting temperature-sensitive mutant Z (FtsZ), a protein essential for bacterial cell division, is highly conserved across bacterial species but absent in humans, positioning it as a strategic target for the development of antibiotics. Significant efforts to identify FtsZ inhibitors- biochemical assays (, GTPase activity) and cellular approaches (, immunofluorescence)-have yielded over 100 natural products and synthetic compounds, whose cheminformatics clustering underscores a limited chemical diversity among the current scaffolds. Structural studies, including X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy, have resolved 97 FtsZ structures revealing conserved polymerization mechanisms and conformational plasticity, as exemplified by extremophile adaptations (, from the high-pressure environment of the Mariana Trench's Challenger Deep).

This study aimed to investigate whether EA pretreatment attenuates CIRI through the miR-124/nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB)/Fas signaling pathway.
Methods: Following 7 days of EA pretreatment at Baihui (GV20), Fengfu (GV16), and Dazhui (GV14), CIRI rats were established.

Background: Ustekinumab (UST) is an interleukin-12/interleukin-23 receptor antagonist approved for the treatment of Crohn's disease (CD). Although UST has demonstrated good efficacy and safety in CD, long-term real-world data in Chinese patients are relatively scarce.
Methods: A single-center, observational retrospective study was conducted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University.

With the rise of short video content, efficient video summarization techniques for extracting key information have become crucial. However, existing methods struggle to capture the global temporal dependencies and maintain the semantic coherence of video content. Additionally, these methods are also influenced by noise during multi-channel feature fusion.

The transcription factor interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) initiates type I interferon transcription, which is required for host defense. Here, we identify RAD18 as a central E3 ubiquitin ligase that selectively targets phosphorylated IRF3 (p-IRF3) for autophagic degradation. RAD18 specifically promotes the dissociation of p-IRF3 from the IFNB promoter and in turn terminates its transcriptional activity.

Developmental time, larval body length, and intra-puparial developmental changes in two forensically important phorid flies, (Loew, 1866) and (Bigot, 1857) (Diptera: Phoridae), were studied in sandy loam with 20% moisture content at 18, 21, 24, and 27 °C. The juvenile development time of both species decreased with increasing temperature.

Biochar properties are governed by trade-offs among feedstock types, modification methods, and pyrolysis conditions, complicating the design of engineered biochar for specific applications. In this study, four data generative models, including Tabular Generative Adversarial Network (TGAN), Conditional Tabular Generative Adversarial Network (CTGAN), Tabular Variational Autoencoder (TVAE), and statistical Synthpop, were developed to predict biochar properties using MultipleMICE- and MissForest-imputed reference datasets (n = 461). The Synthpop model outperformed others in synthetic data quality, achieving high distribution similarity score (0.

Methods: A total of 252 patients diagnosed with IBD who visited the gastroenterology department of a major hospital in AnHui Province between March 2022 and June 2023 were included. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire, the Chinese Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS), the Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX), and the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20).

In this study, we explored the ability of leukemia stem cell (LSC)-based method and traditional multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) assay to predict leukemia relapse after long-term follow-up. 360 AML patients who received allografts between July 2018 and November 2019 were prospectively enrolled. Patients with positive measurable residual disease (MRD) based on CD34CD38cocktail LSCs (≥0.

Newcastle disease virus (NDV) can activate an anti-tumour immune response, and the virus has tumour-lysing properties and can induce apoptosis in tumour cells. NDV is used as a vector in oncolytic virus therapy, which has the unique advantage of tumour-specific inflammation activation, and drug resistance avoidance, resulting in the killing of tumour cells and induction of systemic anti-tumour immunity. NDV uses cancer signalling pathways to transform the immune-desert and microenvironment and immune-rejecting tumours into immunoinflammatory tumours, activating innate and adaptive anti-tumour immune responses to kill tumour cells, and its clinical application is one of the emerging cancer therapies focused on by researchers with good prospects for translational applications.

Drought and salt stress are among the main factors affecting agricultural productivity, seriously influencing the growth, development and yield of potatoes. The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade is highly conserved in signal transduction under abiotic stress. However, studies on the expression patterns of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MAPKKs) gene under drought and salt stress are limited, and there is a lack of functional verification of it in supporting potato plant growth.

Here, we demonstrate that three RNA-derived modified adenosines, N-methyladenosine (mA), N,N-dimethyladenosine (mA), and N-isopentenyladenosine (iA), are sequentially metabolized into inosine monophosphate (IMP) to mitigate their intrinsic cytotoxicity. After phosphorylation by adenosine kinase (ADK), they undergo deamination by adenosine deaminase-like (ADAL).

The influenza virus is a frequent viral pathogen in patients receiving allo-HSCT, accounting for at least 30% of all respiratory viral infections. We aimed to identify the clinical characteristics and outcomes of influenza-associated LOSP after allo-HSCT.

Background: Cancer is the second leading cause of global death in the 21st century. Despite international efforts such as the European Code Against Cancer and the World Health Organization's Global Action Plan, there are still significant gaps in translating policies into tangible outcomes. Diet, especially sugar intake, is a key modifiable factor affecting cancer risk, and the consumption of various beverages is associated with cancer susceptibility.

Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC), a chronic immune-mediated colon inflammation, impacts patients' quality of life. Immunosuppressive-treated UC patients are prone to opportunistic infections like cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection, which exacerbates UC, causes steroid resistance, and elevates surgery and mortality risks. Identifying CMV colitis from UC exacerbation is difficult due to overlapping symptoms and low biopsy detection rates.
