Neurological networks involved in bilingual language control have been extensively investigated. Among the factors that influence bilingual language control, language balance has recently been proposed as a critical one. Nevertheless, it remains understudied how the neural basis of bilingual language control is affected by language balance.

Objective: To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of interventional closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) via femoral venous puncture under echocardiography guidance at high altitude.
Methods: From December 2022 to July 2023, 36 patients with PDA at high altitude were prospectively enrolled and underwent closure either under echocardiography guidance or fluoroscopy guidance. Baseline, procedural, and outcome characteristics were compared in intention-to-treat analysis.
Presently, pathologists need to stain biopsy samples with standard and antibody-based immunocytochemistry (ICC) reagents for final diagnosis. Antibody reagents take hours to days to perform staining, along with requiring specialized equipment and technical skills. We have developed an AI-based virtual ICC platform that measures individual cell morphological features in whole slide images and labels the cells as immuno-positive or negative.

So, our aim is to compare overall survival (OS) differences between two surgical modalities (lobectomy and sublobar resection) in patients aged 80 years and older with pathological stage Ia NSCLC according to the 8th edition of the tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging system.
Methods: Patients aged ≥80 years with pathological stage Ia (T1N0M0) NSCLC from 2004 to 2021 were identified using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.

Carbon-based water-induced generators (WIGs) with unique advantages offer a promising method for autonomous power generation. However, the traditional configuration still suffers from low output power. Herein, we introduce a promising WIG with high power output achieved via a multistrategy approach for a self-driving intelligent water positioning platform.

Herein, a new preparation method of PLA composites by doping rigid conductive cellulose nanofibers (CNFene) and tough poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) to tailor island structure and synergistic reinforcement-toughening mechanism is presented. Moreover, the composite films and paper-based coated beverage straws prepared from these composites has excellent thermal stability, high-strength, and high-toughness.

Here, this study presents a front-end design optimization strategy for Zn metal anodes (ZMAs), combining surface laser texturing with alloying treatment to stabilize the interfacial chemistry. Specifically, laser texturing creates a geometrically ordered microstructure on the Zn surface, while subsequent chemical permeation induces the in situ transformation of this microstructured layer into a CuZn alloy, forming the LT-Zn@CuZn anode.

The current absence of an eye-tracking database that explores bilingual language control and how intra-sentence code-switching types influence the language control process limits our deeper understanding of bilingual control mechanisms. To address this issue, we present a database containing eye-movement recordings collected during a silent reading task combined with language switching paradigm. The database contains typical measures of eye movement data of 160 Chinese and their translation equivalent English words from 40 high-proficient and 40 low-proficient participants across 1280 Chinese, English and intra-sentential code-switching sentences.

Background: Malaria is one of the leading causes of morbidity and/or mortality in tropical Africa. The spread and development of resistance to chemical antimalarial drugs and the relatively high cost of the latter are problems associated with malaria control and are reasons to promote the use of plants to meet healthcare needs to treat malaria. The aim of this study was to evaluate antiplasmodial activities of extracts of (Mah quat), which is traditionally used for the treatment of malaria in the western region of Cameroon.

Nevertheless, the manipulation of T cells encounters formidable hurdles. Macrophages, serving as the pivotal link between innate and adaptive immunity, play crucial roles in phagocytosis, cytokine secretion, and antigen presentation.

Decentralized Federated Learning improves data privacy and eliminates single points of failure by removing reliance on centralized storage and model aggregation in distributed computing systems. Ensuring the integrity of computations during local model training is a significant challenge, especially before sharing gradient updates from each local client. Current methods for ensuring computation integrity often involve patching local models to implement cryptographic techniques, such as Zero-Knowledge Proofs.

Herein, we present a pioneering decoupled Sn-Ag cell, which features two chambers separated by a cation-exchange membrane, containing a dendrite-free Sn metal anode immersed in an alkaline anolyte, and an Ag nanowires/carbon nanotube 3D thick-network cathode in a neutral catholyte. Benefiting from the achieved high electroplating/stripping stability of the metallic Sn anode in the alkaline electrolyte and the electrochemical reversibility of the Ag/AgCl cathode redox couple in the neutral electrolyte, the assembled decoupled Sn-Ag cell demonstrates superior cycling stability, retaining 82.

To address this challenge, we have introduced a localized high iodine concentration (LHIC) coating layer onto a porous polyolefin membrane, which featured strong chemical adsorption by exploiting adduct chemistry between the iodine species and a series of low-cost oxides, , MgO, CeO, ZrO, TiO, and AlO. Leveraging the LHIC based on the potent iodine adsorption capability, the as-fabricated MgO-LHIC composite membrane effectively mitigates iodine crossover Donnan repulsion and concentration gradient effects.
