Salvia miltiorrhiza produces pharmacologically bioactive diterpenoid tanshinones which are regulated by jasmonate (JA) and abscisic acid (ABA) signalling, while their crosstalk in this process remains unclear. Here, we demonstrated that MeJA and ABA acted synergistically to enhance tanshinone biosynthesis. We reported that a novel bZIP transcription factor, SmbZIP5, was involved in ABA- and JA-induced tanshinone biosynthesis.

Background: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) are peripheral serum markers commonly utilized as cost-effective indicators of inflammation. However, their efficacy as predictors of clinical disease activity in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), remains uncertain. To address this ambiguity, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the clinical significance of NLR, PLR, and LMR in patients with IBD.

Introduction: Advanced/metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (a/mNSCLC) is associated with a poor prognosis. Although maintenance therapy after first-line (1L) induction treatment can extend survival, it may also present with drawbacks like risk of certain adverse events (AEs), underscoring the need for shared decision-making between patients and their treating physicians. This study aimed to quantify the extent to which maintenance treatment attributes impact the preferences of patients and physicians after 1L induction therapy for a/mNSCLC.

The high and stable signal intensity of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is crucial for establishing highly sensitive ECL biosensors. Here, nitrogen-vacancy/oxygen-doped carbon nitride (OCNNV-650) was first used as an ECL emitter, significantly improving the low ECL activity and poor dispersion of graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) through a molecular engineering strategy. It is particularly noteworthy that FeO@MoS peroxidases, as coreaction accelerators, are the key to achieving the first and last "signals on", promoting the production of more SO and even promoting the production of •OH radicals when cholesterol is electrocatalyzed to produce HO.

Despite the success of autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy, achieving persistence and avoiding rejection in allogeneic settings remains challenging. We showed that signal peptide peptidase-like 3 (SPPL3) deletion enabled glycan-mediated immune evasion in primary T cells. SPPL3 deletion modified glycan profiles on T cells, restricted ligand accessibility, and reduced allogeneic immunity without compromising the functionality of anti-CD19 CAR molecules.

Background: Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) serve as the “seeds” of tumor metastasis, and the clustering of CTCs is critically associated with tumor metastasis and the mortality of lung cancer patients. Inhibiting the survival of CTC clusters represents a pivotal strategy for anti-lung cancer metastasis therapy. This study is designed to explore the impact and underlying mechanism of lung cancer CTC clusters in mediating resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs), thereby offering novel insights into anti-lung cancer metastasis treatment.

In plants, autophagy is a conserved recycling system essential for development and stress responses by targeting cellular components for massive degradation in the vacuole. Our previous work suggested that autophagy contributes to Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) stress responses by modulating NADPH-oxidase-mediated reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis; however, the molecular link between extracellular ROS and autophagy remains unknown. We performed a yeast two-hybrid screen to identify components involved in autophagy, using the central autophagy component ATG8e as a bait.
