The endocrine system is crucial for maintaining overall homeostasis. However, its cellular signatures have not been elucidated during aging. Here, we conducted the first-ever single-cell transcriptomic profiles from eight endocrine organs in young and aged mice, revealing the activation of cell-type-specific aging pathways, such as loss of proteostasis, genomic instability and reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Repurposing existing medications has accelerated the development of therapies aimed at slowing aging. In this study, using IMR90 cells and aged mice, we revealed that enalapril, a drug widely prescribed for hypertension, can improve both cellular senescence and individual health.

Object: The differentiation of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has long been a challenging problem in clinical diagnosis and forensic identification. Recent studies have shown that microRNAs (miRNAs) in exosomes are involved in the development and progression of AMI. results indicated that plasma exosomal miRNAs can be considered as novel biomarkers for early AMI recognition.

We report that mice intranasally immunized with commercial severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) subunit vaccines enriched with the human thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) variant, long-form TSLP (lfTSLP), but not the short-isoform TSLP (sfTSLP), induced robust antigen-specific systemic and mucosal antibody production. The adjuvant-enhancing activity of lfTSLP in mice requires functional TSLP receptor signals in migratory type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s).

Introduction: Agents used in antitumour therapy have toxic effects on the cardiovascular system of breast cancer (BC) patients, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease, which has become the most common non-cancer cause of death in BC patients. Exercise can effectively prevent or reduce the occurrence of cardiotoxicity, however, most BC patients have low levels of physical activity. The Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) model has been successfully applied to encourage patients to adhere to physical exercise.

Objective: Cesarean scar pregnancy poses significant risks, including uterine scar rupture and increased postpartum hemorrhage. Effective diagnosis and treatment are critical to improving clinical outcomes. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for cesarean scar pregnancy and evaluate the efficacy and safety of hysteroscopic diagnosis and treatment, providing a theoretical basis for clinical management.

However, their widespread adoption has been limited due to the lack of high-efficiency thermoelectric materials and compact heat sinks for effective heat dissipation. To address these issues, we develop a spectral engineering and thermal management strategy that significantly increases STEG power generation by 15 times with only a 25% increase in weight.

The adverse effects of obesity on male reproductive function are mainly manifested as the abnormal development of the reproductive system, decrease of testosterone level, decline of sperm quality, and impact on the health of offspring, while its regulatory mechanism is far from being clarified. This paper expounds the influence of obesity on the male reproductive system in the aspects of population epidemiology and animal experiments, presents an overview on the action mechanisms of obesity from the perspectives of the hypothalamus-pituitary-testis axis, blood-testis barrier, inflammatory reaction, oxidative stress, testicular germ cell apoptosis, and impact of paternal obesity on the health of offspring, aiming to shed some light on the clinical treatment and prevention of obesity-related male reproductive dysfunction.

Importance: Inequities in rapid access to emergency medical services (EMS) represent a critical gap in prehospital care and the first system-level milestone for critically injured patients. As delays in EMS response are associated with increased mortality and known disparities within historically redlined areas are prevalent, this study sought to examine disparities in rapid access to EMS across the United States.
Objective: To assess the association between historically redlined areas and rapid EMS access (defined as ≤5-minute response time) across the United States.
Background: Language difficulties are common in autism, with several theoretical perspectives proposing that difficulties in forming and updating predictions may underlie the cognitive profile of autism. However, research examining prediction in the language domain among autistic children remains limited, with inconsistent findings regarding prediction efficiency and insufficient investigation of how autistic children incrementally integrate multiple semantic elements during language processing. This study addresses these gaps by investigating both prediction efficiency and incremental processing strategy during spoken language comprehension in autistic children compared to neurotypical peers.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major global health threat, as its incidence and mortality rates continue to rise, highlighting the urgent need for effective therapeutic strategies. Histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4), a member of class IIa HDACs, has attracted increasing attention in recent years for its role in CVD. Studies have shown that HDAC4 can influence the development and progression of CVD such as cardiac hypertrophy, hypertension and atherosclerosis by regulating key pathophysiological processes including inflammation, fibrosis and apoptosis.

This study systematically investigates the migration-transformation mechanisms of colloidal As, Cd, Tl and their driving factors in paddy soils of the Karst region in southwest China. Results show that colloidal Fe and OM are the primary environmental factors influencing the formation and distribution of these three colloidal heavy metals, with significant positive correlations (correlation coefficients r = 0.

Aquaporins (AQPs) are crucial biomolecules involved in the transport of water and few solutes across the cell membranes of various organisms. In this study, we isolated and characterized PcAQP5 from Pomacea canaliculata to elucidate its contribution to development and stress tolerance. The PcAQP5 gene encodes a protein of 36.

As a result, there is intense interest today in developing drug formulation strategies that increase solubility. Nowadays, the continuous measurement of BP is only possible with an invasive measurement method using catheter as the gold standard. Phosphorus (P), a non-renewable resource essential for sustaining life, faces increasing environmental losses from agricultural systems. However, the effects of flavonoid-induced iron oxide on soil P behavior remain poorly understood, particularly in paddy soils. Here, we conducted a 7-year field trial under four fertilization regimes combined with laboratory incubations to reveal how flavonoid-modified iron oxides regulate P at the molecular scale.
