The Chinese Healthy Eating Index (CHEI) is a valuable tool for assessing dietary quality. However, the relationship between CHEI and the risk of hypertension remains unclear. Therefore, a total of 1342 adults without hypertension at baseline and provided at least two survey data from 1997 to 2018 were included.

This study investigated how cancer-associated fibroblasts impact immune cells in the context of high-fat diets, focusing on key genes involved in these interactions. By analyzing breast cancer-related single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data, we identified candidate genes in cancer-associated fibroblasts that influence immune cell behavior.

Locusts are characterized by a large genome size, polyphenism and an X0 sex determination system. Here we generated chromosome-level genomes for both desert and migratory locusts, as well as a comprehensive chromatin map for the latter. We found that genome enlargement is associated with an increased number of enhancers in expanded intronic regions.

However, few studies have examined the dynamic interplay among these constructs. This study aimed to explore the complex network relationships among adolescents' proactive health behaviors, parent-adolescent communication, and depressive symptoms.

Extracting time-varying latent variables from computational cognitive models plays a key role in uncovering the dynamic cognitive processes that drive behaviors. However, existing methods are limited to inferring latent variable sequences in a relatively narrow class of cognitive models. For example, a broad class of relevant cognitive models with intractable likelihood is currently out of reach of standard techniques, based on maximum a posteriori parameter estimation.

Distinct forms of regulated cell death, such as necroptosis and ferroptosis, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of various conditions, including neurodegenerative disorders and acute kidney injury. Strategies that concurrently target both necroptosis and ferroptosis present significant potential for improving therapeutic outcomes.

This study assesses the global, regional, and national burden of headache disorders, including migraine and tension-type headache (TTH), from 1990 to 2021 using data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021.
Methods: We analyzed the incidence, prevalence, and years lived with disability (YLDs) of headache disorders in individuals aged 5–24 years across 204 countries and territories.
Aims: This study aimed to investigate the current status of knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention among orthopaedic nurses in comprehensive hospitals in Yichang, Hubei Province, China, and to analyse influencing factors to provide a reference for implementing VTE prevention strategies.
Methods: From February to March 2024, a total of 257 orthopaedic nurses from nine comprehensive hospitals in Yichang were surveyed using a convenience sampling method and investigated with a knowledge, attitudes and practices questionnaire for VTE prevention. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to identify factors influencing knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding VTE prevention among orthopaedic nurses.
Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of the Pan-Immune-Inflammation Value (PIV) on the prognosis of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and to develop and validate a nomogram for identifying patients with a poor prognosis following ICH.
Methods: We retrospectively collected the clinical data of 742 patients with ICH admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from September 2018 to March 2024. A modified Rankin Scale score > 3 at 90 days after discharge was defined as a poor short-term prognosis.
Objective: To explore the effect of home skin temperature management in winter on the complications of expander and skin expansion efficiency in ear reconstruction patients.
Methods: A total of 58 patients were involved and divided into control group and experimental group according to the different postoperative nursing methods. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group received additional home hot compress guidance.
Despite advances in immunotherapy, its efficacy against postoperative glioma recurrence remains limited. Here, we present a neoantigen-targeting peptide nanoshield that synergizes with glioma resection to eliminate residual tumor cells and prevent relapse. The nanoshield architecture is constructed using a multicationic protein (MCP) as the structural scaffold, which is assembled with the mutated isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (muIDH1) neoantigen.

This study provides a novel elucidation of the ecological toxicity mechanism of potassium sorbate, supported by in vitro cell model validation, thereby offering system-level to molecular-level analysis for the risk assessment and management of food additives. A total of 124 and 106 potential targets for hepatotoxicity and carcinogenicity were identified, respectively, and protein-protein interaction networks and Cytoscape were used to determine the hub genes associated with the toxicity of potassium sorbate.

Chiral macrocycles /-C with abundant recognition sites were synthesized via a simple four-step reaction procedure. These homochiral macrocycles can be easily purified by silica gel column chromatography without the demand for chiral separation. Their structures have been carefully characterized using X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.

Heterozygous missense mutations in cause Weaver syndrome (WS), a developmental disorder characterized by intellectual disability and overgrowth. encodes the enzymatic subunit of Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), which mediates monomethylation, dimethylation, and trimethylation of histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me1/2/3). Most WS-associated EZH2 variants lack functional characterization but are presumed loss-of-function.

Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) enables models trained on a labeled source domain to handle new unlabeled domains. Recently, pre-trained vision-language models (VLMs) have demonstrated promising zero-shot performance by leveraging semantic information to facilitate target tasks. By aligning vision and text embeddings, VLMs have shown notable success in bridging domain gaps.

High-throughput sequencing enables efficient processing of DNA and RNA samples in batches, but batch effects can obscure true biological signal. We propose using anticlustering as an automated method to assign samples to balanced batches, minimizing covariate imbalance and supporting user-defined constraints such as batch size, number of batches, and "must-link" assignments. In simulations, anticlustering outperforms existing methods in assigning balanced batches.

Nevertheless, the heterologous biosynthesis of high-performance structural proteins faces inherent challenges due to their characteristic high molecular weight, highly repetitive sequences, and intricate folding patterns, frequently leading to reduced production yields, structural defects, and compromised mechanical properties. To overcome these limitations, researchers have adopted various strategies to refine sequence architectures and optimize heterologous expression systems of recombinant structural proteins.
