This paper proposes a method for incoherent beam combining on extended areas (or extended targets) based on a gradient light intensity trap, which is effectively created through intensity weighted modulation, and with the help of a proper optimization algorithm, light spots will be guided into this trap to achieve beam combination. A physical model of this method is established, which determines the optimal surface profile of the gradient light intensity trap, thereby aiding in achieving ideal results for multi-channel beams in both modulation and non-modulation. Subsequently, the feasibility of the method is verified in the laboratory, where tip/tilt aberrations are corrected by adaptive fiber-optics collimators during the beam-combining process.

For free-space optical communication, high-power, high-quality vortex beams with a high signal-to-noise ratio are critical for long-distance communication. Coherent beam combining (CBC) of vortex beams enables the enhancement of power while maintaining high beam quality.

Here, our findings showed that potato virus Y (PVY) coat protein (CP) directly interacted with SWEET1g of Solanum tuberosum (StSWEET1g). Silencing of StSWEET1g promoted PVY infection while overexpressing StSWEET1g in Nicotiana benthamiana inhibited PVY replication.

Tobamoviruses move in the form of movement protein (MP)-viral RNA complex and utilize endocytosis for intracellular movement. However, how tobamoviral MPs hijack host factors to reach the plasma membrane (PM) and then plasmodesmata (PD) is still largely unknown.

Objective: To investigate of effectiveness of free fascia lata flap assisted by indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) in treatment of Myerson type Ⅱ and Ⅲ chronic Achilles tendon ruptures.
Methods: A clinical data of 14 patients with Myerson type Ⅱ and Ⅲ chronic Achilles tendon ruptures between March 2020 and June 2024 was retrospectively analyzed. All Achilles tendon defects were repaired with the free fascia lata assisted by ICGA during operation.
Plant virus-based vectors provide a convenient tool for rapid protein expression and gene function studies. However, there is little research on viral vectors capable of systemically expressing proteins in tomatoes. Here, we substituted the coat protein (CP) gene with GFP gene in a previously constructed tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV; genus Tobamovirus) infectious clone pCBToMMV to produce transiently expressing vectors, which could express GFP in the infiltrated leaves of Nicotiana benthamiana plants.

This method preprocesses the detected light intensity information from the target region before it enters the photodetector. The light intensity gradient trap filters the light intensity between the pointing errors of the spots in the extended area and the light intensity data.

Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is a non-invasive method targeting deep brain regions by applying two pairs of high-frequency currents with a slight frequency difference to the scalp. However, optimizing electrode configurations for TI via computational modeling is challenging and time-consuming due to the non-convex nature of the optimization. We propose a convex optimization-based method (CVXTI) for optimizing TI electrode configurations.

The single electromagnetic (EM) wave loss mechanism leads to suboptimal microwave absorption in dielectric materials, whereas, introducing different materials and constructing distinctive microstructures can significantly improve microwave absorption. In this study, TiB and TiB@BN powders were synthesized using boron thermal reduction and chemical solution methods. Their microwave absorption and thermal properties were systematically analyzed.

Methods: HT22 cells were stimulated with glutamate to construct an excitotoxicity cell model.
The clinical treatment of epilepsy is faced with challenges. On the one hand, the effectiveness of existing antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) is limited by the blood‒brain barrier (BBB); on the other hand, changes in the inflammatory microenvironment during epileptogenesis are often neglected. The death-associated protein kinase 1 inhibitor TC-DAPK6 and the fluorescent probe rhodamine B were encapsulated in hollow mesoporous silica nanocarriers (HMSNs), which were then coated with a macrophage membrane to prepare macrophage membrane-biomimetic nanoparticles, namely, MA@RT-HMSNs.

While the incidence of these diseases has been rising, instances of co-infection remain uncommon.
What Is Added By This Report?: This represents the first documented case of a rare coinfection involving and SFTSV.
The increasing application of municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) emphasises the need for MSWI fly ash (FA) safe treatment. Based on the compositional complementarity of FA from grate furnaces (G-FA) and fluidised bed incinerators (F-FA), we proposed a co-reduction process to treat G-FA and F-FA together for producing vitrified slag and ferroalloys. The clean vitrified slag and Fe-Cr-Ni-Cu alloy were obtained with the mass ratios of 1:9 ∼ 6:4 (G-FA:F-FA) at 1300℃, which is about 300℃ lower than the conventional G-FA vitrification.

However, the present seawater batteries are either primary batteries or rechargeable half-seawater/half-nonaqueous batteries because of the lack of suitable anode working in seawater. Here, a unique lattice engineering to unlock the electrochemically inert anatase TiO anode to be highly active for the reversible uptake of multiple cations (Na, Mg, and Ca) in aqueous electrolytes is demonstrated.

Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), which plays a pivotal role in initiating translation in eukaryotic organisms, is often hijacked by the viral genome-linked protein to facilitate the infection of potyviruses. In this study, we found that the naturally occurring amino acid substitution D71G in eIF4E is widely present in potyvirus-resistant watermelon accessions and disrupts the interaction between watermelon eIF4E and viral genome-linked protein of papaya ringspot virus-watermelon strain, zucchini yellow mosaic virus or watermelon mosaic virus. Multiple sequence alignment and protein modelling showed that the amino acid residue D located in the cap-binding pocket of eIF4E is strictly conserved in many plant species.
