Conventional cobalt spinel oxides, widely employed in advanced oxidation processes, suffer from limited catalytic activity due to competitive overlap of O 2p orbitals between tetrahedral (Co) and octahedral cobalt (Co). Furthermore, their narrow pH activity window near neutrality severely restricts environmental applicability. To address these limits, the theories of covalency competition and microenvironment modulation are introduced to simulate the catalytic process and propose optimization strategies.

Federated Learning (FL) offers a promising privacy-preserving framework for collaborative global model training without exposing local private data. However, system heterogeneity in FL causes the straggler issue, where resource-limited edge devices delay global model aggregation. Existing approaches, such as asynchronous mechanisms or kick-out methods, primarily focus on optimizing model convergence efficiency but often overlook edge resource constraints, potentially resulting in model bias toward high-performance devices or omission of critical data.

Epilepsy is a frequently occurring complication in patients with gliomas that substantially impairs their quality of life. The onset of epilepsy in patients with gliomas is driven by multiple mechanisms, including tumour-induced compression of the peripheral neural network, the release of neurotransmitters and inflammatory factors by tumour cells, alterations in the tumour microenvironment, and changes in gene expression. Collectively, these factors contribute to the abnormal excitability of local neurons, ultimately triggering seizures.

Localized DNA circuits have emerged as a powerful platform for real-time visualization of disease-associated biomolecules in living cells, enabling deeper insights into complex biological processes. However, their extensive applications have been limited by a low probe utilization efficiency and nonspecific background signals. Here, we present a cell-specifically triggered localized catalytic assembly (TCA) circuit designed for high-contrast, reliable imaging of microRNAs (miRNAs).

Integrin αvβ6, an epithelial-specific integrin, plays a crucial role in the development and prognosis of multiple tumors and has emerged as a potential target for cancer diagnosis and treatment. The novel integrin αvβ6-targeted radiotracer [Ga]Ga-Trivehexin shows excellent targeting specificity and favorable tumor-to-background contrast. In this prospective clinical study (NCT05835570) involving 58 participants with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), [Ga]Ga-Trivehexin and 2-deoxy-2-[F]fluoro-D-glucose ([F]FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) showed perfect diagnostic accuracy (100%, 58/58) for the detection of primary tumors.

Dental treatments for children and adolescents have unique clinical characteristics that differ from dental care for adults in terms of children's physiology, psychology, and behavior. These differences impose specific requirements on the application of local anesthesia in pediatric dental procedures. This article presents expert consensus on the principles of local anesthesia techniques in pediatric dental therapies, including the use of common anesthetic drugs and dosage control, safety and efficacy evaluation, and prevention and management of complications.

Purpose: Tinnitus is a complex disease whose pathophysiological mechanisms are still not fully elucidated. Dysregulation of circulating inflammatory proteins and metabolites is thought to play a crucial role in tinnitus pathophysiology, but the causal relationships and specific biological pathways linking these factors to tinnitus persistence remain unestablished.
Methods: We performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using tinnitus genome-wide association study (GWAS) data from FinnGen biobanking and GWAS data from metabolites and circulating inflammatory factors in GWAS directories.

Renal cell carcinoma accounts for a significant number of kidney malignancy-related fatalities globally. Perirenal Fat Thickness (PRFT) may indicate a state of nutritional excess in patients, which is potentially directly linked to both the incidence and prognosis of kidney cancer. This study investigated the association between perirenal fat thickness (PRFT) and overall survival (OS), as well as the predictive value of PRFT for postoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
