Weeds are one of the major constraints for wheat productivity, causing significant yield losses worldwide. While chemical control is the most used practice to overcome weed damage, its efficacy is challenged by increasing weed resistance to most used herbicides, which is an expanding phenomenon caused by herbicide overuse/misuse. Modern wheat varieties are less able to perceive the presence of weeds than old varieties and are therefore less competitive against them and require chemical control to ensure adequate yields.

Patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) may experience neurobehavioral and cognitive concerns, including psychiatric symptoms, due to the absence of full-length dystrophin (Dp427), frequently accompanied by deficiencies in shorter isoforms. The lack of dystrophin affects neurophysiological processes from the uterine phase, impacting neural circuitry in brain regions such as the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and cerebellum. This leads to reduced inhibitory GABAergic transmission and altered hippocampal glutamatergic signaling.

Endoscopic ultrasound-directed transgastric endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (EDGE) and endoscopic ultrasound-directed transenteric endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (EDEE) are innovative endoscopic techniques developed to overcome the challenges of biliary access in patients with surgically altered gastrointestinal anatomy. EDGE facilitates the creation of a gastro-gastric anastomosis, enabling endoscopic access to the excluded stomach and subsequent duodenum for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedures. Similarly, EDEE involves creating a gastro-jejunal anastomosis, allowing endoscopic access to the jejunum and hepaticojejunostomy for ERCP.

Purpose: A five-grade severity scheme has been introduced for echocardiographic grading of tricuspid regurgitation (TR). Although higher TR grades have been associated with worse prognosis, it is unknown whether they can help determining patient eligibility for transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions (TTVI) and correspond to different anatomical phenotypes. The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between TR severity and tricuspid valve (TV) anatomy and determine the screening failure rate for TTVI.

Aims: The current therapeutic approach to ischaemic (IsHF) and non-ischaemic (NIsHF) heart failure (HF) mainly overlooks the underlying aetiology owing to a lack knowledge of the differential molecular pathways that contribute to HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Alterations in myocardial DNA methylation levels have been identified as potential biomarkers for HF irrespective of its aetiology. Due to the limited availability of cardiac tissues in clinics, our goal is to determine if DNA methylation changes in circulating CD4 T lymphocytes, which are strongly involved in left ventricle remodelling, can help in differentiating IsHF and NIsHF causes among patients with HFrEF and if DNA methylation levels associate with key clinical features.

Heat shock proteins have been increasingly identified in RNA-interactomes, suggesting potential roles beyond their canonical functions. Among those, the cancer-linked chaperone TRAP1 has been mainly characterized for its regulatory role on respiratory complex activity and protein synthesis, while its specific function as an RNA-binding protein (RBP) remains unclear. In this study, we confirmed the RNA-binding activity of TRAP1 in living cells using both protein- and RNA-centric approaches and demonstrated that multiple TRAP1 regions cooperate in such binding.
