Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Zhongda Hospital, State Key Laboratory of Digital Medical Engineering, Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Critical Care Medicine, School of Life Sciences and Technology, School of Medicine, Advanced Institute for Life and Health, Southeast Univer

The mammalian cochlea relies on outer and inner hair cells (OHCs/IHCs) for sound amplification and signal transmission. Rab3-interacting molecular binding protein 2 (RIMBP2), expressed in receptor cells and neurons at synaptic active zones, remains poorly characterized in hearing. We therefore generated a Rimbp2 knockout (KO) mouse model (Rimbp2), which exhibited severe hearing loss with elevated thresholds, prolonged latencies, and reduced amplitudes in auditory brainstem response Wave I.

Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is one of the prevalent non-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related tumors in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH). This study investigates the risk of HL among PLWH and the global incidence of HL associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). A meta-analysis was conducted to examine the association between HIV infection and HL, utilizing HIV prevalence data from Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and pooled relative risk (RR) to calculate the population attributable fraction.

Dendritic computation based on the spatiotemporal integration for excitatory and inhibitory synaptic inputs plays a pivotal role in performing sophisticated information processing. It is vital to develop artificial dendritic devices with a flexible spatiotemporal integration capacity for excitatory and inhibitory inputs driven by the inputs with the same polarity. Here, a dual-gate configuration dendristor (abbreviated as DGD) is demonstrated with p-type and n-type memtransistor characteristics based on Na-doped MoS.

Pathological disturbances in schizophrenia have been suggested to propagate via the functional and structural connectome across the lifespan. However, how the connectome guides early cortical reorganization of developing schizophrenia remains unknown. Here, we used early-onset schizophrenia (EOS) as a neurodevelopmental disease model to investigate putative early pathologic origins propagating through the functional and structural connectome.

Hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CC), and resorcinol (RS), as toxic and hardly degradable dihydroxybenzene isomers, pose threats to the environment and human health. In this study, using multi - walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and ZIF-8 as precursors, a necklace-like N-doped carbon polyhedron/carbon nanotube composite loaded with Cu nanoparticle (Cu NPs/NC@MWCNTs) electrocatalyst was prepared by hydrothermal and high-temperature carbonization processes. Comprehensive characterization data from XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, BET, and Raman spectroscopy confirmed that the unique necklace-like porous structure and synergistic effect between ZIF-derived N-doped carbon polyhedra and MWCNTs regulate the electronic structure and surface properties of the catalyst, thereby accelerating the electron transfer rate.

Group activity recognition in sports analysis is a critical challenge in computer vision, requiring robust modeling of complex player interactions and dynamic scenarios. Existing approaches predominantly rely on region-based features and two-stage pipelines involving individual localization and activity classification. These methods are inherently limited by their dependency on accurate bounding box detection and often struggle with feature entanglement, occlusions, and the integration of broader contextual information.

The first annual International Society of Tractography (IST) debate in Corsica in 2024 explored key challenges and controversies in tractography. This article examines the debate sparked by the provocative statement, "Tractography cannot give us anything we can't get from an atlas template." This debate contrasted two approaches: (1) white matter atlas templates, which provide standardized, population-based brain representations useful for studying brain structure and performing group comparisons, and (2) subject-specific tractography, which reconstructs individual brain connections using diffusion MRI, enabling in vivo "virtual dissection" of white matter pathways.

As a carbon-free energy carrier with high energy density, ammonia has been extensively utilized across various industrial sectors. However, the conventional Haber-Bosch process for industrial ammonia synthesis faces critical limitations, including harsh operational conditions (high temperature/pressure), excessive energy consumption, and substantial CO emissions, which fundamentally restrict its sustainable development. Photocatalytic nitrogen reduction emerges as a promising alternative strategy, offering advantages of ambient reaction conditions and environmental benignity.

A 29-year-old woman with muscle weakness at 26 + 5 weeks of pregnancy was hospitalized for heart failure, and genetic testing revealed that she had R9 limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMDR9). Since LGMDR9 is associated with cardiac and respiratory dysfunction, we promoted fetal lung maturation and performed an emergency cesarean section at 29 + 2 weeks to prevent further deterioration of cardiac function and muscle weakness. This case highlights the importance of choosing the right mode of delivery, timing of delivery, and early genetic testing for LGMDR9 patients.

scRiskCell is an interpretable intelligent computational framework that leverages nearly 500,000 islet cell expression profiles from 106 donors across different continuous disease states. By calculating the intrinsic relationship between donor disease states and cell expression profiles, it assigns a pseudo-cell state index to each cell. Sorting the pseudo-indexes of cells enables the identification of risk cells truly disrupted by the disease.
