Background: Organizational silence is prevalent in the healthcare industry, especially among junior nurses likelier to remain silent on work issues due to their lack of experience and weak voice. This negative behavior not only affects the efficiency of team communication but may also reduce the quality of care. At the same time, presenteeism (working with illness or inefficiency) is becoming increasingly prominent in the nurse population, further exacerbating burnout and organizational silence.

Phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) is one of the major target antigens of MN. Despite the importance of PLA2R antibodies in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and prognosis of MN, anti-human PLA2R monoclonal antibodies have not been obtained.

Although TGFB3 mutations were recently associated with human coronoid process hypertrophy (CPH) and other craniofacial disorders, the mechanisms by which TGF-β3 regulates NCC fate determination through cell-cell communication remains unknown.
Methods: A zebrafish model was used to investigate the impact of tgfb3 on craniofacial cartilage and bone development.
Phase change absorbents are deemed a promising alternative for CO capture due to their excellent CO absorption performance, good stability, and low renewable energy consumption. To address the issues of insufficient loading capacity, low regeneration efficiency, and high energy consumption during regeneration in current chemical absorbents, a novel phase change absorbent was developed. As an amino acid ionic liquid phase change absorbent with tetraethylenepentamine as the cation, imidazole as the anion, and n-propanol as the phase separation agent, this absorbent offers a potential solution.

This study systematically evaluated the impact of oat flour (OF) substitution at different levels on the mixed flour and the final FGCs (OF 0%, OF 10%, OF 20%, OF 30%, OF 40%), along with underlying mechanisms. OF substitution enhanced the system's water-binding capacity, the integrity of starch granules, and viscoelasticity, while inhibiting gelatinization and promoting short-term retrogradation, as evidenced by reduced pasting enthalpy and increased pasting temperature and setback value.

Modelling studies and recent observations suggest that the westerlies-monsoon interactions (WMI) have led to a spatial imbalance in lake expansions across the Tibetan Plateau (TP) during the past decades under anthropogenic warming. However, whether such imbalance reflects a short-term phenomenon or a long-term climatic trend remains unclear. Here, we present a 240,000-year lake level reconstruction from the inner TP to examine the extent to which WMI also operated for previous interglacials, natural warm regimes with large-scale climatic boundary changes.

Mode matching conditions at 1550 nm are selected to facilitate power coupling between the two RC-EDFs, enabling the coupling, transmission, and amplification of both second-to-first order OAM modes and second-to-second order OAM modes. By designing the structural parameters and ring spacing of the two RC-EDFs, two types of all-fiber in-line OAM amplifiers are developed, each achieving a gain exceeding 30 dB.

The Optics Group at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) specializes in optical component metrology and fabrication. Established alongside the SSRF phase I beamline construction, the optical metrology laboratory is equipped with a 1D-scanning Long Trace Profiler (LTP), laser interferometers, white light interferometers, and atomic force microscopes. This instrumentation enables characterization of surface errors across high, medium, and low spatial frequency domains.

Against the background of global warming, the drivers of heavy precipitation (HP) and flooding have become markedly more complex. Soil moisture (SM) not only contributes to flood generation but also influences the occurrence of HP through land-atmosphere feedback, underscoring its central role in predicting extreme events. In this study, precipitation intensity and frequency conditioned on antecedent SM states were quantitatively assessed utilizing a novel SM memory-based statistical framework.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a highly heterogeneous, multifactorial complex disease. Its pathogenic mechanisms are extremely intricate, primarily characterized by immune dysregulation caused by the combined influence of genetic, environmental, and biological factors. In recent years, increasing evidence has shown that gut microbiome play a crucial role in the onset and progression of SLE.

Myopia, a highly prevalent refractive error worldwide, occurs when parallel light rays are refracted by the optical system of the eye and converge in front of the retina, leading to blurred vision, with limited effective intervention options available currently. As a natural small-molecule carotenoid, zeaxanthin (Zea) demonstrates antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; however, its involvement in myopia is not yet well understood. Accordingly, this research was designed to examine the effects of Zea in treating myopia and the underlying mechanisms involved.

The controlled growth of perovskite on flexible substrates is essential for achieving highly efficient and stable flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs). Herein, a novel strategy of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4-HBA) is developed to regulate the crystallization dynamics of perovskite. In situ cross-linking network of 4-HBA provided an excellent formwork for high-quality perovskite growth by controlling excessive nucleation and prolonging crystallization.
