Background: Lumbar spondylolisthesis (LS) is a spinal disorder that often necessitates surgical intervention. However, evidence on the comparative clinical value of robot-assisted full-endoscopic transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (RA FE-TLIF) versus conventional FE-TLIF in early-grade (Grades I and II) LS remains limited, leaving uncertainty about its true clinical value in this patient population. This study aims to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of FE-TLIF with RA FE-TLIF in patients with Grade I and II LS.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition affecting over 10% of the global population, with high sodium intake identified as a critical modifiable risk factor. This study investigated the global burden of CKD due to excessive sodium intake in 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2021 and made the first future projections to 2040, addressing gaps in longitudinal analysis of sodium-related CKD trends and demographic differences.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 database were analyzed to quantify CKD-related deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) linked to high sodium intake.

Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CI/RI) is a critical event causing secondary neurological deterioration following vascular recanalization in patients with ischemic stroke (IS), involving multiple interrelated pathological processes that synergistically aggravate brain injury. However, the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely elucidated, necessitating systematic investigation. This review systematically elucidates the dynamic pathological mechanisms underlying CI/RI during ischemic and reperfusion phases.

The complex pathogenesis of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) underscores the therapeutic potential of targeting lung epithelial cell apoptosis. Makorin ring finger protein 2 (MKRN2), functioning as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, plays a critical role in regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis by specifically recognizing and promoting the degradation of p53. However, the precise mechanisms by which MKRN2 contributes to ARDS progression remain poorly understood.

The case report by Elsayed presented a multidisciplinary approach to treating recurrent biliary strictures following proximal bile duct injury. Bioresorbable biliary stents, an innovative option for managing biliary strictures in recent years, are a key part of this approach. Unlike traditional metal/plastic stents, bioresorbable stents made from materials like polylactic acid (PLA) or polycaprolactone gradually degrade in the body.

Background: Morel-Lavallée lesion (MLL) is a rare closed degloving injury from high-energy shear/crush trauma, often linked to pelvic/acetabular fractures. Due to limited clinical awareness, it is highly prone to misdiagnosis, potentially causing severe complications like infection and skin necrosis. Existing literature rarely documents giant MLL with open pelvic fractures.

In the study published in the by Xu , the expression profiles of cuproptosis-related genes in esophageal cancer and their prognostic significance were investigated. Cuproptosis, a novel form of copper-dependent cell death, has garnered significant attention in cancer research due to its mechanism closely linked to mitochondrial metabolism and protein lipoylation. This research systematically analyzed the prognostic value of cuproptosis-related genes by integrating multi-omics data from 151 esophageal cancer and normal tissue samples.

Background: Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is one of the major complications of stroke and exhibits a dynamic progression. This study uses the Group-Based Trajectory Model (GBTM) to fit cognitive development trajectories in stroke patients and analyze the influencing factors and trends of PSCI across trajectory groups. It aims to facilitate early identification and intervention for high-risk PSCI patients, providing a theoretical basis for optimizing intervention strategies.

Relugolix is the first oral GnRH receptor antagonist. However, its oral formulation requires daily administration, leading to poor patient adherence and suboptimal treatment outcomes for long-term users. To address these issues, we developed a long-acting microcrystalline formulation of relugolix administered once every 28 days.

Background: Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMVD) significantly impairs cardiac function and worsens prognosis in patients with cardiovascular diseases, yet no definitively effective pharmacological treatment currently exists. Endothelial cell injury stands as the core pathogenic mechanism of CMVD, however, the molecular mechanisms underlying X-ray radiation-induced endothelial damage remain poorly understood. Although our research group has previously demonstrated that RAS-RH possesses pro-angiogenic properties, its therapeutic potential and mechanistic basis in treating CMVD remain unexplored.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by abnormal deposition of amyloid-β protein (Aβ) and the formation of neurofibrillary tangles (NFT). Although there are drugs available for clinical treatment, they do not fundamentally cure AD, so early diagnosis and intervention for AD are essential. In recent years, near-infrared fluorescent (NIRF) probes have been widely used in diagnosing AD due to their advantages of high tissue penetration, low autofluorescence interference, and non-invasiveness.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is still as a major cause of morbidity and mortality in men at the global level, highlighting the necessity for improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies beyond current PSA screening limitations. This mini-review focuses on the complex and often opposing roles of two key cytokines, IL-33 and IL-38, within the tumour microenvironment and their implications for host immunosurveillance in PCa. Intra-tumoral IL-33 expression is significantly reduced in PCa tissues and correlates with aggressive disease features such as higher Gleason scores and lymphatic metastasis, suggesting an inherent anti-tumour function.
