Garnet-structured LiLaZrO (LLZO) is considered as one of the most promising solid electrolytes for high safety all-solid-state Li batteries (SSLBs) applications. However, this type of SSLB utilizing LiCoO/LLZO as composite cathode faces high capacity degradation because of delamination between LiCoO (LCO) and LLZO and possible oxygen vacancy-driven microcrack formation within LCO. Herein, a pure oxygen atmosphere is used for sintering the composite cathode to limit oxygen vacancy formation in LCO.

Genetic and microbial factors influence inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), prompting our study on non-invasive biomarkers for enhanced diagnostic precision. Using the XGBoost algorithm and variable analysis and the published metadata, we developed the 10-species signature XGBoost classification model (XGB-IBD10). By using distinct species signatures and prior machine and deep learning models and employing standardization methods to ensure comparability between metagenomic and 16S sequencing data, we constructed classification models to assess the XGB-IBD10 precision and effectiveness.

3D bimetallic carbon nanofibers (CNFs) are promising interlayers for regulating Na deposition/dissolution on the Na metal or directly on current collectors like Cu. However, uncontrollable solid electrolyte interface (SEI) growth on the interlayer during the repeated Na plating/stripping process leads to low initial Coulombic efficiency (CE), impeding the practical applications of such a protective layer in Na metal batteries. Herein, an artificial SEI-coated interlayer decorated with sodiophilic Ag and sodiophobic Cu on CNF is applied on Cu foil to regulate the Na deposition/dissolution behavior.

Disruption of the circadian clock is associated with the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we observe that mice in the early active phase (Zeitgeber time 12, ZT12) of the circadian clock are more tolerant to dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced colitis, compared to those in the early resting phase (ZT0). The expression of the circadian gene Bmal1 peaks in the early resting phase and declines in the early active phase.

Lgr5 intestinal stem cells (ISCs) are crucial for the intestinal epithelium renewal and regeneration after injury. However, the mechanism underlying the interplay between Wnt and BMP signaling in this process is not fully understood. Here we report that Bcl11b, which is downregulated by BMP signaling, enhances Wnt signaling to maintain Lgr5 ISCs and thus promotes the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium upon injury.

We present a novel approach for measuring the differential static scalar polarizability of a target ion utilizing a "polarizability scale" scheme with a reference ion co-trapped in a linear Paul trap. The differential static scalar polarizability of the target ion can be precisely extracted by measuring the ratio of the ac Stark shifts induced by an add-on infrared laser shed on both ions. This method circumvents the need for the calibration of the intensity of the add-on laser, which is usually the bottleneck for measurements of the polarizability of trapped ions.

The up-to-date lifespan of zero-excess lithium (Li) metal batteries is limited to a few dozen cycles due to irreversible Li-ion loss caused by interfacial reactions during cycling. Herein, a chemical prelithiated composite interlayer, made of lithiophilic silver (Ag) and lithiophobic copper (Cu) in a 3D porous carbon fiber matrix, is applied on a planar Cu current collector to regulate Li plating and stripping and prevent undesired reactions. The Li-rich surface coating of lithium oxide (LiO), lithium carboxylate (RCOLi), lithium carbonates (ROCOLi), and lithium hydride (LiH) is formed by soaking and directly heating the interlayer in -butyllithium hexane solution.

Solid-state polymer electrolytes (SPEs), such as poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), have good flexibility when compared to ceramic-type solid electrolytes.
