Background: Morel-Lavallée lesion (MLL) is a rare closed degloving injury from high-energy shear/crush trauma, often linked to pelvic/acetabular fractures. Due to limited clinical awareness, it is highly prone to misdiagnosis, potentially causing severe complications like infection and skin necrosis. Existing literature rarely documents giant MLL with open pelvic fractures.

This study employed multivariate analysis to identify arsenic-tolerant maize varieties, evaluating growth parameters such as shoot fresh weight, dry weight, plant height, chlorophyll content, and arsenic accumulation across 20 maize varieties exposed to 50 mg kg.

Although the existing literature extensively investigates the mechanisms underlying parental maltreatment, the interdependence of parental behaviors and the unique role of cultural context-specifically, the potential influence of parental self-esteem on maltreatment behavior within the Chinese cultural framework-remain underexplored. Therefore, this study utilized a longitudinal Actor-Partner Interdependence Mediation Model (APIMeM) to track 627 pairs of parents of fourth-grade elementary school students (fathers: M_age = 35.

Previous studies indicates that helping behaviors (prosocial behavior, which benefits others, and social support, which benefits oneself) are closely associated with adolescents' self-development. However, it is still unclear what the mutual relations and potential mechanisms are between prosocial behavior, social support, and core self-evaluation. A total of 1214 Chinese adolescents were surveyed three times, with a six-month interval between each survey (M = 15.

The objective of this study is to provide up-to-date epidemiologic information on the global burden of diabetes in WCBA to inform the development of targeted public health policies.
Methods: The data on the burden of diabetes among WCBA from 1990 to 2021 at the global, regional, and national levels were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 database.

This study aimed to develop a deep learning (DL) model for bone age (BA) assessment using hand and wrist X-ray images, addressing the challenge of classifying BA in adolescents. The results of this DL-based classification were then compared and analyzed with those obtained from manual assessment.

Persistent intraoperative hemorrhage is the major cause of trauma-related mortality, emphasizing the need for hemostatic dressings with improved efficacy. In this study, we designed a PLGA-CTS-TXA composite sponge, which was fabricated by grafting of poly (lactic-co-glycol acid) (PLGA) and hemostatic small molecule tranexamic acid (TXA) onto chitosan (CTS), for rapid hemostasis. The sponge integrates the advantages of CTS, PLGA and TXA, showcasing superior porosity (nearly 85 %) and water absorption capacity (3197 ± 105 % within 30 s).

The surface coating incorporated tannic acid, and 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (TA-APTES) contains plentiful nanospheres with secondary reaction sites, which is favorable for surface modification. In this research, a TA-APTES coating with a unique hierarchical structure was grown in situ on the skeleton of a porous melamine sponge under mild conditions.

The relationships between modifiable risk factors and neuroimmunological disorders are not fully understood.
Methods: We utilized multiple logistic regression to estimate the relationships between 38 modifiable risk factors and two neuroimmunological diseases using data from nearly 500,000 individuals in the UK Biobank.

Background And Objective: The 12-lead electrocardiography (ECG) is a widely used diagnostic method in clinical practice for cardiovascular diseases. The potential correlation between interlead signals is an important reference for clinical diagnosis but is often overlooked by most deep learning methods. Although graph neural networks can capture the associations between leads through edge topology, the complex correlations inherent in 12-lead ECG may involve edge topology, node features, or their combination.

Nevertheless, the observed abscopal effect remains modest, and its underlying mechanism remains poorly elucidated. This study aims to systematically examine the utilization of α-PD-L1 to enhance the abscopal effect induced by MWA and to comprehensively investigate the associated mechanisms.

However, current reports are somewhat chaotic, especially concerning whether the gut microbiota has a causal effect on various neurological diseases. Furthermore, whether there is a common mechanism involving gut microbial communities in these neurological disorders has not to be revealed.

The treatment of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) remains a challenge for modern medicine due to its complex pathogenesis. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has demonstrated significant success in the prevention and treatment of variable medical conditions. For AD pharmacological management, TCM could provide promising approaches.

Metal-air batteries desire highly active, durable, and low-cost oxygen reduction catalysts to replace expensive platinum (Pt). The Fe-N-C catalyst is recognized as the most promising candidate for Pt; however, its durability is hindered by carbon corrosion, while activity is restricted due to limited oxygen for the reaction. Herein, TiN is creatively designed to be hybridized with Fe-N-C (TiN/Fe-N-C) to relieve carbon corrosion and absorb more oxygen when catalyzing oxygen reduction.

However, diagnosis remains challenging for patients lacking specific autoantibodies.
Objective: To characterize a syndrome of unknown meningoencephalomyelitis associated with an astrocytic autoantibody.
Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), as one of the most advanced methods for the green production of hydrogen, is greatly impeded by inefficient mass transfer. Here we present an efficiently reactant enriched and mass traffic system by integrating high-curvature Pt nanocones with 3D porous TiAl framework to enhance mass transfer rate. Theoretical simulations, in situ Raman spectroscopy and potential-dependent Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results disclose that the strong local electric field induced by high-curvature Pt can greatly promote the HO supply rate during HER, resulting in ∼1.

Perovskite-based photodetectors (PDs) are broadly utilized in optical communication, non-destructive testing, and smart wearable devices due to their ability to convert light into electrical signals. However, toxicity and instability hold back their mass production and commercialization. The lead-free CsAgBiBr double perovskite film, promised to be an alternative, is fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD), which compromises film quality.

We report a case and follow-up of an adult male with intracranial yolk sac tumor (YST). Initially, the patient presented with abnormal high signals in the right basal ganglia on MRI, misdiagnosed as a cavernous hemangioma. However, within 2 years, the condition rapidly progressed into a large, hypervascular solid neoplasm leading to a basal ganglia hemorrhage.
