On high-risk construction sites, frontline workers are constantly exposed to dual channels of safety communication: supervisory safety communication (SSC) and coworker safety communication (CSC). While existing research has emphasized the general importance of safety communication in promoting safety performance, the differentiated effects and psychological mechanisms of SSC and CSC remain underexplored. To address this gap, this study aims to adopt a Conservation of Resources (COR) theory framework to examine how SSC and CSC influence construction workers' safety behavior (SB) through psychological mechanisms, and how these effects vary under different levels of work pressure (WP).

Carbon dots (CDs) have been widely employed to fabricate various fluorescent chemosensors owing to their favorable photo-physicochemical properties and versatile surface modification feasibility. However, reports on CDs as a dual recognition platform for sensitive and selective detection of different analytes are very limited. In this study, highly negatively charged green emitting nitrogen-doped CDs were synthesized by a hydrothermal approach using 1,3,6-trinitropyrene and ascorbic acid as precursors, which subsequently self-assembled with positively charged methylviologen (MV) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) to form CDs-MV and CDs-PEI nanocomposites, respectively, by electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bond.

Electrically Modulated Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (E-SERS) technology can effectively increase Raman signal intensity. Compared with conventional E-SERS, self-powered E-SERS sensors provide an electric field through energy conversion, which reduces the dependence on external power sources and thus facilitates the development of portable real sample detection. Herein, high-performance piezoelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) with dopamine-functionalized reduced graphene oxide (rGO@PDA) was embedded into a polyvinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) matrix, which was innovatively used for E-SERS technology.

Light-responsive materials with intrinsic negative feedback enable self-oscillation in non-equilibrium states. Conventional systems rely on self-shadowing in bending modes but fail when shadowing is constrained. Here, we demonstrate that external mechanical forces can bypass this limitation, enabling sustained oscillations without complete shadowing.

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water reduction offers a promising method for generating "green" hydrogen. The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) at the photocathode is significantly constrained, primarily because of the rapid recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs and the high energy barrier encountered during the water splitting step. Here, a unique "sandwich" structure FeOOH/CuO/ZnO composite photocathode is fabricated by hydrothermal and electrodeposition methods.

Transition metal spin-crossover (SCO) complexes with magnetic bistability show great promise as spin-switches for molecule-based devices. Using first-principles calculations combined with the non-equilibrium Green's function technique, we explored the spin-resolved electronic and transport properties of photochromic Fe(II) SCO complexes in the high-spin state with the open-ring (HS-O) isomer and in the low-spin state with the closed-ring (LS-C) isomer, since the photocyclization and photocycloreversion between the HS-O and LS-C isomers can be reversibly realized under light radiation with different wavelengths at room temperature as in previous experiments. Our results clearly reveal that the examined Fe(II) SCO complexes with photochromic diarylethene-based ligands in the HS-O isomer have lower energy than the LS-C isomer of 0.
