Copper (Cu) catalysts with abundant defects are pivotal for converting CO into valuable multi-carbon products. However, the practical application of Cu catalysts is challenged by the thermodynamic instability of the defects, often leading to surface reconstruction during catalytic processes. Here, it is found that particle size and COO-containing intermediates are key factors driving reconstruction, as the defect stability is size-dependent and can be amplified by leveraging the highly reactive intermediates as the initial reactant.

To address this dilemma, we developed a novel microbial-nitrate-zero valent iron/manganese synergy (MNZS) system that establishes dynamic redox gradients through Fe/Mn-mediated electron flux regulation. The MNZS mechanism leverages zero valent iron/manganese (ZVI/ZVM) oxidation to create oxygen-depleted microzones, generating bioavailable Fe(II)/Mn(II) species while initiating microbial nitrate-reducing-coupled Fe(II)/Mn(II) oxidation (NRFO/NRMO).

Familial frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a genetically heterogeneous disease with various clinical manifestations, making it difficult to diagnose. There are three main gene mutations in familial FTD: repeat expansion in chromosome 9 open reading frame 72 (), microtubule-associated protein tau (), and progranulin (). These mutations can produce corresponding changes in fluid biomarkers years before symptoms appear.

The strategic modulation of proton transport kinetics and precise control of migration energy barriers in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are essential for developing next-generation proton conductors. Inspired by biological proton channels, this study introduces a dynamic regulation strategy by keto-enol tautomerism to reconcile the intrinsic trade-off between low activation energy (E) and sustained proton mobility. We successfully construct a hierarchical proton conductive system (denoted as FU@MOF-808-SOH) by integrating 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) molecules into sulfonic-functionalized MOF-808 through a two-step post-synthetic modification.

Here, we developed a three-component cascade of unactive alkenes with sulfur dioxide and aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates to generate sulfonylated tetrahydropyridines and azepines via the cleavage of alkenyl C-H bonds. Moreover, this protocol exhibited excellent chemical and regioselectivity and compatibility with broad functional groups.

However, replicating the diverse movements of natural microorganisms in artificial microrobots presents a considerable challenge. This paper introduces a laser-based approach that utilizes lattice metamaterials to enhance the deformability of hydrogel-based microrobots, resulting in untethered light-driven lattice soft microrobots (LSMR).

Background: To explore the impact of using nano-carbon suspension for lymph node tracing on the number of detected lymph nodes and short-term clinical outcomes in patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection for rectal cancer following neoadjuvant therapy.
Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 109 patients who underwent neoadjuvant therapy and laparoscopic radical resection for rectal cancer at Weifang People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022. Of these, 43 patients received an endoscopic submucosal injection of nano-carbon suspension (experimental group), with 22 patients receiving the injection before neoadjuvant therapy and 21 patients receiving it 24 h before surgery.
The NaVMn(PO) (NVMP) cathode is considered one of the most promising candidates for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), but it suffers from a low capacity due to the limited kinetics of V/V and Mn/Mn in the electrochemical reaction. A higher capacity can be achieved by activating a redox pair with high valence states like V/V. However, activation of those redox pairs in conventional NVMP cathode requires a redox potential beyond 4.

Initially, it was considered as a feasible solution to replace the harmful bisphenol A with structurally similar bisphenol S (BPS). However, with the deepening of research, BPS has also been pointed out to have similar endocrine-disrupting effects and physiological hazards to bisphenol A. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an efficient and convenient method for BPS detection.

Methods: During the period from April 30, 2023 to June 30, 2024, clinical isolates of were collected from multiple centers in Ningbo, including The Affiliated Li Huili Hospital (Yinzhou District, Ningbo), Xiangshan Red Cross Taiwan Compatriot Hospital Medical and Health Group (Xiangshan, Ningbo), and the Second Hospital of Ninghai County (Ninghai, Ningbo). A total of 81 CR-KP strains were identified using the broth dilution method for carbapenem resistance screening.
T-bet (T-box transcription factor TBX21), encoded by the Tbx21 gene, is a key regulator of T helper 1 (Th1) cell differentiation and cellular immunity. However, the role of T-bet in avian species remains elusive. To investigate the role of T-bet in avian immune response, we cloned chicken T-bet (chT-bet) from a White Leghorn chicken spleen-derived cDNA library.
