Aim: To quantitatively assess central macular thickness (CMT), macular neovascularization (MNV) area, vascular tortuosity (VT), and vascular dispersion (VDisp) in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), type 1 and type 2 MNV, by means of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT angiography (OCTA) techniques.
Methods: In this retrospective and observational case series, patients were classified into type 1 or type 2 MNV groups. A comprehensive panel of OCT and OCTA metrics was evaluated, including CMT, MNV area, VT, and VDisp.
Alkali metal poisoning remains an essential issue causing the deactivation of vanadate-based catalysts for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts of NO with NH. In this paper, MnVO was loaded onto TiO (mwt%MnVO/TiO, m = 3, 5, 7) to improve the low-temperature activity and resistance to K poisoning. The activity tests demonstrated that 5 wt%MnVO/TiO catalyst was remarkably resistance to SO and HO, sustaining a NO conversion of over 90 % in the temperature range of 200-340 °C even after K poisoning.

Over the past decade, long-read (LR) RNA sequencing techniques have advanced rapidly, producing datasets that could offer insights into APA mechanisms. Here we introduce (Alternative Polyadenylation Analysis of LOng-ReaDs), an R-based analysis tool for APA analysis of LR RNA-seq data.

BACKGROUND Obstructive Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome (OSAHS) is a common and serious sleep disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of partial or complete airway obstruction during sleep. Polysomnography is considered the gold standard for diagnosing OSAHS and evaluating its severity. However, traditional sensory monitoring methods, while effective, are often cumbersome, expensive, and unsuitable for home use.

Unlabelled: Aberrant levels or structures of RNA isoforms are a hallmark of many cancers, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), yet their role in AML chemoresistance remains unclear. We conducted a paired analysis of RNA isoform changes in patients with AML before therapy and at relapse after chemotherapy and identified intragenic DNA methylation at the proximal promoter of the transcription factor RUNX1, which resulted in elevated expression of the long-isoform RUNX1C through its alternative distal promoter. The unique N-terminal region of RUNX1C orchestrated an isoform-specific transcriptional program that promoted chemoresistance, with its direct target BTG2 playing a role in chemotherapy resistance.

Objectives: This study aims to elucidate the general rules of loading and release of drugs in pH-responsive nano-delivery systems based on CuS NPs and develop a general strategy for efficient utilization of microbicide and sustainable plant disease management.
Methods: Three microbicide-loaded copper sulfide nanoparticles (Microbicide@PAS-CuS NPs) were fabricated via a one-pot route by using polyacrylic acid sodium (PAS) as a flexible framework carrier material and berberine sulfate (BBR), bronopol (BNP), and kasugamycin (KSM) as the loaded microbicides.

Phytoplankton is the most important primary producer in lakes, and its community structure can reflect the changes in lake ecosystems. In order to understand the changes of phytoplankton functional community structure and its influencing factors in Erhai Lake, a plateau lake, the phytoplankton community composition, water quality changes, and zooplankton and zoobenthos abundance in Erhai Lake were continuously observed every quarter from 2022 to 2023. The results showed that 7 phyla and 81 genera of phytoplankton were identified from 2022 to 2023.

Cancer therapy based on extracellular vesicles faces several practical challenges, such as low production, inadequate stability, and inefficiency, making it difficult to achieve ideal therapeutic effects. To address these issues, a novel engineering technology of EVs was developed based on the autonomous "fusion-exocytosis" process. Specifically, membrane fusogenic liposomes (MFLs) with unique physical and chemical properties were engineered by tailoring the components, which could interact with cells to facilitate mutual fusion of lipid membranes and release fusogenic extracellular vesicles (FEVs).

Endowing ionizable lipids with tailored biological properties could potentially augment the therapeutic efficacy of mRNA-based treatments. Herein, a functional vitamin E (VE)-based lipid library with distinct head groups was designed and synthesized.

Direct urea fuel cells (DUFCs) have great potential in recovering chemical energy from wastewater containing urea. The efficiency of the urea oxidation reaction (UOR) on the anode of a DUFC has a significant influence on its power output. Currently, the development of UOR catalysts with high catalytic activity and durability remains extremely challenging.

A cohort of 75 chemotherapy-naive LCs without brain metastases and 29 age-, sex-, and education-matched HCs underwent cognitive assessments and structural MRI. The MRI focused on cortical thickness, surface area, and volume of subcortical structures.

Unlike the transient endosperm in Arabidopsis, cereals follow a different developmental program after the cellularization phase, producing a persistent endosperm. In contrast to the single, constitutively expressed Fertilization Independent Endosperm (FIE) gene in Arabidopsis, cereals have evolved a duplicated, grain-specific counterpart, such as maize ZmFie1 and rice OsFie1.

We have found that decitabine, an epigenetic regulator, can increase antigen exposure and induce double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) accumulation in tumor cells. The corresponding cell-derived nanovesicles (NV) have the ability to stimulate both cellular and humoral immunity due to the internal dsRNA.

Background: Cardiac arrest caused by acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is the most serious clinical circumstance, necessitating rapid identification, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and systemic thrombolytic therapy. Extracorporeal CPR (ECPR) is typically employed as a rescue therapy for selected patients when conventional CPR is failing in settings where it can be implemented.
Case Summary: We present a case of a 69-year-old male who experienced a prolonged cardiac arrest in an ambulance with pulseless electrical activity.
C-MYC is a proto-oncoprotein whose dysregulation triggers tumorigenesis and tumor progression in ≈70% of cancer cases. It is presently demonstrated that aberrantly upregulated MYC is caused by the overexpressed and "extra-nucleolar" PDCD11 in p53-mutant breast and colon cancer cells, which is highly correlated to tumor progression, metastasis, and recurrence. In the nucleoplasm, PDCD11 binds to the TAD of C-MYC to prevent SKP2, a transcriptional target of C-MYC as well as one of the major E3 ligase components targeting C-MYC, from interacting with and ubiquitinating C-MYC in feedback.
