Cyanobacteria achieve highly efficient photosynthesis using a CO-concentrating mechanism relying on specialized Type I (NDH-1) complexes. Among these, NDH-1 and NDH-1 catalyze redox-coupled hydration of CO to bicarbonate, supporting carbon fixation in carboxysomes. The mechanism of coupling electron transfer to CO-hydration by these variant NDH-1 complexes remains unknown.

This study explores the relationship between TXNIP levels and obesity-associated IR in women with PCOS.
Methods: A case-control study was conducted from January 2019 to December 2020, including 161 women with PCOS and 107 healthy controls.

Methods: 257 women aged 40-55 years, within three years after their final menstrual period were randomized to receive transdermal oestrogel (t-E2) ( = 128) or oral estradiol valerate (o- E2V) ( = 129; both with micronized progesterone 200 mg for 14 days each month). Menopausal symptoms were recorded at screening and at 4, 12, and 24 weeks post-randomization.

Background: We investigated the key factors that influence the awareness, health beliefs, and self-efficacy of osteoporosis among the staff of an obstetrics and gynecology hospital to identify the key target population for carrying out education and promotion in medical institutions, hoping to improve women's awareness and prevention and treatment consciousness of osteoporosis from the source.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from October 15 to October 24 in 2023, and 200 staff members were randomly sampled from an obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Hangzhou city for a questionnaire survey. We used a quantile regression model to analyze the key factors influencing the scores of each item.

Purpose: Perimenopause is associated with an increased risk of anxiety disorders, largely due to hormonal changes affecting the body's regulatory feedback mechanisms. This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the global burden of anxiety disorders among perimenopausal women.
Methods: Data from the 2021 Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database were utilized to assess disability-adjusted life years associated with anxiety disorders linked to perimenopause.

Introduction: Aplastic anemia (AA) and hypoplastic myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS-h) are bone marrow failure disease and difficult to distinguish merely by morphological analysis. In this study, we investigated the value of flow cytometry (FCM) in the differential diagnosis of AA and MDS-h.
Methods: We included 822 patients (626 control, 69 AA, 22 MDS-h and 105 dilution patients) from January 2017 to December 2022 for a retrospective study.

Mixed phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) is a type of acute leukemia in which encompasses mixed features of myeloid, T-lymphoid, and/or B-lymphoid differentiation. Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph) MPAL is a rare subgroup with a poor prognosis and accounts for <1% of adult acute leukemia. Until now, there is still no consensus on how to best treat Ph MPAL.

Background: A growing number of cytogenetic techniques have been used for prenatal diagnosis. This study aimed to demonstrate the usefulness of karyotyping, BACs-on-Beads (BoBs) assay and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array in prenatal diagnosis during the second trimester based on our laboratory experience.
Methods: A total of 10,580 pregnant women with a variety of indications for amniocentesis were enrolled in this retrospective study between January 2015 and December 2020, of whom amniotic fluid samples were analysed in 10,320 women.
Objective: The aim of this research was to determine whether systemic inflammatory indicators, including aggregate index of systemic inflammation (AISI), neutrophils lymphocyte to platelet ratio (NLPR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), are related to bone mineral density (BMD) in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.
Methods: One hundred and eighty-one perimenopausal and 390 postmenopausal women were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. Continuous variables by analysis of variance and Kruskal Wallis test for comparing the clinical characteristics.

Premature ovarian failure (POF), also known as primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), refers to the loss of ovarian function in women after puberty and before the age of 40 characterized by high serum gonadotropins and low estrogen, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, and decreased fertility. However, the specific pathogenesis of POF is unexplained, and there is no effective therapy for its damaged ovarian tissue structure and reduced reserve function. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), with multidirectional differentiation potential and self-renewal ability, as well as the cytokines and exosomes they secrete, have been studied and tested to play an active therapeutic role in a variety of degenerative pathologies, and MSCs are the most widely used stem cells in regenerative medicine.
