Diabetes mellitus has emerged as a global public health crisis, with over half of patients experiencing gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms that exacerbate glucose fluctuations and impair quality of life. While prior research on the pathophysiology of diabetic gastroenteropathy (DGE) focused primarily on autonomic neuropathy, particularly involving the vagus nerve, recent studies have shifted toward the impairment of the enteric nervous system (ENS). As the largest autonomous neural network governing GI motility independent of central control, structural and functional abnormalities of the ENS constitute the fundamental pathological basis for DGE.

However, it remains unclear whether ciprofol is a more appropriate sedative than propofol in gastrointestinal endoscopy, especially in the elderly population. This study aimed to compare the safety of ciprofol with propofol in elderly patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy.

HYJDF's bioactive components were identified via ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-Quadrupole-Exactive-mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QE-MS). Network pharmacology integrated the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform database-predicted ACI targets and multiple databases to construct herb-component-target networks (Cytoscape).

Methods: The dataset containing the data of and deficiency constitution was identified through the Gene Expression Omnibus database. This database was used for differential expression genes (DEGs) analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and the characteristic genes were then obtained in the dataset using a machine learning method.
Background: Probiotics have garnered increasing attention for their potential role in managing insomnia. This meta-analysis evaluated the effects of probiotics on sleep quality and mood in patients with insomnia.
Methods: Eight public databases were searched to identify relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published before December 2024.
Objective: The effects of lipidome and its metabolites on Parkinson's disease (PD) have not been fully elucidated. This study aimed to assess the causal effects of lipidome on PD and the mediated effects of metabolites using Mendelian randomization (MR).
Methods: Datasets of the lipidome, metabolites, and PD were acquired from genome-wide association studies, and single nucleotide polymorphisms were screened according to the basic assumptions of MR.
Objective: The benefit of Chinese herbal foot-baths in treating diabetic foot remains unclear. This study aims to assess the efficacy of Chinese herbal foot-baths for diabetic foot with Wagner grade of 0 or 1 and identify key candidate herbs.
Methods: A comprehensive search of eight databases was conducted for studies published up to 24 May 2025.
Background: Ciprofol, a propofol derivative, is increasingly used for sedation in China. However, the specific benefits of ciprofol in gastrointestinal endoscopic sedation have not been fully evaluated. This meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of ciprofol with propofol in gastrointestinal endoscopy.

To address this gap, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of manual acupuncture for treating CSU.
Methods: Seven major databases were searched for relevant literature published up to 1 January 2025.
No notable developments in the existing therapeutic approaches for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) exist to date, leaving many patients seeking alternative treatments. Among these alternatives, acupuncture has gained increasing popularity among physicians due to its perceived effectiveness. Acupuncture has been applied in the treatment of RP and has achieved good therapeutic effects, as reflected in the improvement of vision.

The aim of this study was to assess the causal effects of lipidome on senility and the mediated effects of metabolites by Mendelian randomization (MR). Lipidome, metabolites, and senility datasets were acquired in genome-wide association study, and single nucleotide polymorphisms were screened according to the underlying assumptions of MR. Subsequently, inverse variance-weighted was used as the primary method to analyze the causal effect of lipidome on senility and the mediated effect of metabolites.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most prevalent malignancies among men, with its incidence steadily increasing worldwide. Recent advances in microbiome research have opened new avenues for understanding and treating PCa; however, studies focusing specifically on the prostate tissue microbiome remain limited. Evidence suggests that the microbial communities within PCa tissues exhibit significant diversity and regional variability, with certain bacteria potentially contributing to PCa initiation and progression through chronic inflammation.
