Objective: This study aims to explore the effects of artificial light on ovarian function in female guinea pigs and the possible mechanism.
Methods: The levels of serum sex hormone expression in the natural light group (N) and LED group (L) were detected via ELISA. The differentially expressed proteins and changes to acetylation levels in the ovaries of female guinea pigs from both groups were analysed via 4D-DIA proteomics and 4D-DIA acetylation quantitative proteomics.
Phyllanthus fluitans, a member of the Phyllanthaceae, is a unique free-floating aquatic species exhibiting considerable ornamental value. In this study, we assembled the mitochondrial genome of P. fluitans representing the first mitochondrial genome report of the Phyllanthaceae family.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on forty-six (59% female, median age: 24.5 years) clinically identified anti-NMDAR encephalitis patients from December 2012 to April 2022.
Purpose: To assess retinal and choroidal changes following rapid mydriasis in healthy adults.
Methods: Seventy-one volunteers (71 right eyes) participated in a prospective randomised controlled trial. They were divided into two groups: tropicamide (n=36) and a mixture (tropicamide:phenylephrine=1:1, n=35) groups.
Background: Although ordering food online has become a leading lifestyle factor among the Chinese urban population, its health impact is understudied. This study aims to examine this aspect, focusing on online takeaway food impacts related to foodborne illness, nutrition, and suboptimal health (i.e.

However, TIAs are widely used in clinical anticancer research, their content is extremely low in plants, and currently insufficient to meet market demand.

Methods: We generated proteomic data from plasma collected from participants enrolled in the longitudinal observational cohort study Project Baseline Health Study (PBHS) (evaluated cohort, n = 738, 27.9% of the total PBHS cohort), and integrated those data with information from their medical history and laboratory tests to determine diabetes status.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Antler base (Cervus nippon Temminck), a traditional Chinese medicine, is categorized as deer antler. Antler base extracts can delay osteoarthritis (OA); however, the underlying molecular pathways and effective substances remain unclear.
Aim Of The Study: to clarify the potential mechanism of action and effective substance structure of Cervus nippon Temminck antler base peptides (CNCPs) in improving OA.

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 induced coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has posed a great challenge to public health worldwide and also increased susceptibility to colorectal cancer (CRC). Natural killer (NK) cells serve as the first line of defense in the host's innate immune system, performing natural killing functions and mediating cytotoxicity against tumors and viruses. Therefore, a better understanding of NK cell cytotoxicity may facilitate the development of treatment strategies for CRC-associated with COVID-19.

The dynamics of tubulin are crucial in maintaining ocular homeostasis, closely linked to cellular proliferation and angiogenesis. Elucidating the molecular mechanisms driving this process is vital for formulating effective therapeutic strategies.

This unique metabolic energetic feature is attributed to activation of mitochondrial m-aconitase in TCA caused by decreased cellular Zn level. Evidence suggests that a small subpopulation of cancer cells within prostate tumors, designated as prostate cancer stem cells (PCSCs), play significant roles in advanced prostate cancer progression.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective study included 27 patients who underwent hyperopic KLEx. According to the transition zone (TZ) sizes, they were divided into two groups: group A (21 eyes) with a 2.
The study aimed to investigate changes in the eye axial length in juvenile guinea pigs and the expression of scleral specificity protein 1 (Sp1) and collagen type I (Col-I) under different light environments with varying spectral composition. The animals were randomly divided into five groups: natural light (N), LED light with a low colour temperature (L), E light (E), Fulia light (F), and Gulia light (G). Axial lengths were measured every two weeks, and the expression of Sp1 and Col-I in the sclera was assessed by immunohistochemistry, Western blot and RT-qPCR.

Parents of children and adolescents, adolescents, and young adults with and without a history of COVID-19 were invited to fill in a questionnaire from October 2022 to June 2023. There were 386 valid parent proxy-reported responses, 433 valid adolescent self-reported responses, and 324 valid young adult self-reported responses included in the final analysis.

Background: Because cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is one of the most common complications following liver transplantation (LT), it is important to analyze the impact of CMV infection on the LT-associated changes in T cells polarization. This study aimed to investigate T helper (Th) and T cytotoxic (Tc) cells polarization and their correlation in infant LT recipients with active CMV infection.
Methods: Twenty infant LT recipients with active CMV infection (the CMV group) and 20 recipients without CMV infection (the stable group) were enrolled.

Petal pigmentation in carnations is closely associated with the biosynthesis of anthocyanins. This biosynthetic process is tightly regulated by transcription factors, which activate or repress key genes involved in anthocyanin production. Here, we aim to explore the mechanisms involved in the transcriptional regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis in carnation petals.

The great potential of polysaccharides in immunological regulation has recently been highlighted in pharmacological and clinical studies. Polysaccharides can trigger immunostimulatory responses through molecular identification, intra- and intercellular communication via direct or indirect interactions with the immune system. Various immunostimulatory polysaccharides or their derivative compounds interacts at cellular level to boost the immune system, including arabinogalactans, fucoidans, mannans, xylans, galactans, hyaluronans, fructans, pectin and arabinogalactans, etc.

Toxicological assessment of compounds to aquatic life plays an important role in protecting the environment from their hazards. However, animal testing approaches for aquatic toxicity evaluation are time-consuming, expensive, and ethically limited, especially when there are a great number of compounds.
