Reducing psychological craving is critical for preventing relapse in methamphetamine use disorder (MUD). This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of virtual reality (VR)-based cue exposure therapy (CET) and cue exposure with aversion therapy (CETA) in reducing methamphetamine craving in men with MUD. In this randomized controlled trial, 89 men with MUD were assigned to three groups: VR-based cue exposure therapy (CET, n = 30), VR-based cue exposure combined with aversion therapy (CETA, n = 29), and neutral scenes (NS, n = 30).

The direct functionalization of small heterocyclic molecules is an efficient strategy for constructing large heteroatom-doped polycyclic aromatic systems. However, due to the unique reactivity of acridone, π-extension on the benzene ring generally leads to the formation of angular-shaped acridone derivatives. In this study, we present the selective synthesis of both linear and angular π-extended acridone derivatives incorporating acenaphthylene units with intervening five-membered rings.

Objective: This study aimed to develop and assess an advanced Attention-Based Residual U-Net (ResUNet) model for accurately segmenting different types of brain hemorrhages from CT images. The goal was to overcome the limitations of manual segmentation and current automated methods regarding precision and generalizability.

Materials And Methods: A dataset of 1,347 patient CT scans was collected retrospectively, covering six types of hemorrhages: subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH, 231 cases), subdural hematoma (SDH, 198 cases), epidural hematoma (EDH, 236 cases), cerebral contusion (CC, 230 cases), intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH, 188 cases), and intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH, 264 cases).

Myeloid cells are pivotal in autoimmune disorder development due to their varied immune response functions yet understanding them at the single-cell level in such conditions is limited. To address this gap, we analyzed 351,905 myeloid cells from 375 single-cell RNA sequencing samples covering 14 autoimmune diseases, which allowed us to classify myeloid cells into 13 distinct subsets with unique immunological profiles. Through pseudotime analysis, we identified a branching process leading to two intermediary inflammatory subtypes and observed dysregulation in eight co-expression modules crucial for monocyte function across autoimmune conditions.

Background: Carapace color in Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) influences both commercial value and physiological traits, yet its molecular basis remains unclear. The intestine plays a key role in pigment absorption and metabolism, but its involvement in pigmentation has been understudied. This study aimed to investigate intestinal gene expression differences among red, white, and green carapace strains.

Unlabelled: Mitochondrial quality control is essential for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis, particularly in brown adipocytes where dynamic mitochondrial remodeling supports thermogenesis. Although the SEL1L-HRD1 endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway and autophagy are two major proteostatic systems, how these pathways intersect to regulate mitochondrial integrity in metabolically active tissues remains poorly understood. Here, using adipocyte-specific genetic mouse models combined with high-resolution 2D and 3D ultrastructural imaging technologies, we reveal an unexpected synergy between SEL1L-HRD1 ERAD and autophagy in maintaining mitochondrial structure and function in brown adipocytes.

Background: Depression is a prevalent non-motor symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD) that significantly impacts patients' quality of life. The Wuling capsule, a traditional Chinese medicine, is often utilized for treating depression, and this herbal medicine has been used to treat those PD patients with depression. This study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of Wuling capsule in treating mild depression in patients with early PD.

Unlabelled: Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) leads to a high mortality in neonatal piglets and causes serious harm to the global swine industry. PEDV has been shown to exploit diverse strategies for antagonism of host innate immunity and promotion of self-replication. However, the underlying mechanisms involved in PEDV immunosuppression remain to be fully elucidated.

Mollicutes, known as the simplest bacteria with streamlined genomes, were traditionally thought to evolve mainly through gene loss. Recent studies have highlighted their rapid evolutionary capabilities and genetic exchange within individual genomes; however, their evolutionary trajectory remains elusive. By comprehensive screening 1433 available Mollicutes genomes, we revealed widespread horizontal gene transfer (HGT) in 83.

Purpose: To assess the treatment efficacy, long-term outcomes and ocular toxicity of ultra-low-dose radiotherapy (4 Gy) in managing conjunctival mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma.

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 15 patients with conjunctival MALT lymphoma between 2020 and 2022, who received 4 Gy radiotherapy (RT) delivered in consecutive 2-Gy fractions. The long-term outcomes included response rate, response time, recurrences or progression, and RT-related toxic effects.

Background And Aim: The 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) recognizes gaming disorder (GD) as a behavioral addiction, but its implications for the clinical diagnostic practice of GD remain underexplored. This study examines the clinical diagnosis of GD since its inclusion in ICD-11 to understand trends in diagnosis rates in psychiatric departments and patient characteristics, particularly comorbidities.

Method: This multicenter, retrospective observational study was conducted in five large tertiary hospitals and mental health centers across four Chinese provinces.

Introduction: High glucose-induced angiogenesis is the main component in Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (PDR) development. In PDR, ischemia and hypoxia have been identified as key stimuli that promote pathological neoangiogenesis by increasing Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A (VEGFA). Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that TRIM65 knockdown in tumor cells reduces VEGFA expression.

Background: Stroke primarily results from the interruption of cerebral blood flow. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a noninvasive and promising therapeutic intervention, has been widely used to treat various ischemic and hypoxic conditions. Over the past two decades, extensive research has demonstrated HBOT's efficacy in reducing cerebral infarct volume, establishing it as a viable neuroprotective strategy.

Photocatalytic reduction of oxygen to hydrogen peroxide (HO) represents an attractive solar-to-chemical conversion pathway. Nevertheless, it remains a significant challenge to achieve efficient HO photosynthesis while simultaneously mitigating photocorrosion of the catalysts owing to the presence of superoxide radicals (O) and the accumulation of photoexcited holes (h). In the present work, a 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (THIQ)-water two-phase system was developed to achieve high-efficiency and durable production of HO by suppressing O intermediates and rapidly consuming h.

Members of the heat shock protein 90 family (HSP90s) are evolutionarily conserved and play crucial roles in protein transport, immune regulation and antigen presentation. In this study, five hsp90s were identified from the genome of large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) and analyzed using bioinformatics. All five identified hsp90s encode proteins with HATPase_c and HSP90 domains, and are mainly localized in the cytoplasm, mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum.
