Adverse factors of postoperative hemodynamic and myocardial performance remain largely unexplored in children with congenital heart disease following cardiopulmonary bypass due to technical limitations. Pressure recording analytical method (PRAM) is a continuous hemodynamic and myocardial performance monitoring technique based on beat-to-beat arterial pressure waveform. Using PRAM, we examined the temporal trends and adverse factors, in clinical management, of these performances.

Family with sequence similarity 20C (Fam20C), the major protein kinase in the secretory pathway, generates the vast majority of the secreted phosphoproteome. However, the regulatory mechanisms of Fam20C transport, secretion, and function remain largely unexplored. Here, we show that Fam20C exists as a type II transmembrane protein within the secretory compartments, with its N-terminal signal peptide-like region serving as a membrane anchor for Golgi retention.

Methods: A total of 57 children who were diagnosed with PA/VSD/MAPCAs and who underwent intraoperative pulmonary blood flow studies at our hospital between August 2016 and June 2019 were included. Surgery and cardiopulmonary bypass records were collected.
Background: Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) infection can cause severe reproductive failure in sows and respiratory distress in pigs of all ages, leading to major economic losses. To date, there are still no effective strategies to prevent and control PRRSV. Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), a phenomenon in which preexisting non-neutralizing antibodies or sub-neutralizing antibodies facilitate virus entry and replication, may be a significant obstacle in the development of effective vaccines for many viruses, including PRRSV.

Pan evaporation (EVP) is an important element of the hydrological cycle and exhibits a close relationship with climate change. In this study, the generalized regression neural network (GRNN) model and extreme gradient boosting (Xgboost) model were applied to estimate the monthly EVP. The spatiotemporal distributions of EVP and influencing factors in China and eight subregions from 1961 to 2017 were analyzed.

Low IgG4 levels in IgAN were noticed in our preliminary experiment. We aimed to verify the low IgG4 levels and investigate the related immune mechanism in IgAN.

The Yellow River Basin (YLRB) and Yangtze River Basin (YZRB) are heavily populated, important grain-producing areas in China, and they are sensitive to climate change. In order to study the temporal and spatial distribution of extreme climate events in the two river basins, seven extreme temperature indices and seven extreme precipitation indices were projected for the periods of 2010-2039, 2040-2069, and 2070-2099 using data from 16 Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) models, and the delta change and reliability ensemble averaging (REA) methods were applied to obtain more robust ensemble values. First, the present evaluation indicated that the simulations satisfactorily reproduced the spatial distribution of temperature extremes, and the spatial distribution of precipitation extremes was generally suitably captured.

Infection by its etiological agent, PRRS virus (PRRSV), shows a highly restricted tropism of host cells and has been demonstrated to be mediated by an essential scavenger receptor (SR) CD163. CD163 fifth SR cysteine-rich domain (SRCR5) is further proven to play a crucial role during viral infection.

Diffuse radiation allocated by cloud cover and aerosols can promote vegetation photosynthesis, which is known as the diffuse fertilization effect (DFE). As an important uncertain factor regulating the DFE, understanding the role of environmental conditions in the response of terrestrial ecosystems to diffuse radiation is vital for quantitative and intensive studies. By using a light use efficiency model and statistical methods with satellite data and ChinaFLUX observation data, the optimal environmental range of DFE was estimated, the indirect role of vapor pressure deficit (VPD) and air temperature (T) on DFE was explored, and the relative contribution of diffuse photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) on gross primary productivity (GPP) was analyzed across Chinese ecosystems under different sky conditions.

Background And Objectives: The impact of acute kidney injury (AKI) on the progression of renal function in idiopathic membranous nephropathy (iMN) with nephrotic syndrome (NS) patients have not yet been reported, we sought to investigate the incidence, clinical features and prognosis of AKI in iMN with NS patients and determine clinical predictors for progression from AKI to advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage.
Methods: We analyzed clinical and pathological data of iMN with NS patients retrospectively collected from Jan 2012 to Dec 2018. The primary renal endpoint was defined as persistent eGFR <45ml/min per 1.

Despite several studies focusing on its involvement in porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) infection, the detailed mechanisms by which vimentin takes effect remain to be fully elucidated. In the present study, we identified a previously unrecognized role of vimentin rearrangement in PRRSV replication.

Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy is a typical autoimmune disease of orbital tissues. Alternative splicing significantly influences many diseases progression, including cancer, age-related macular degeneration, and multiple sclerosis, by modulating the expression of transcripts. However, its role in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy is still unclear.

However, the diversity of the DNA and retro-transcribing viruses in these host groups was left uncharacterized. Given that RNA sequencing is capable of revealing viruses undergoing active transcription and replication, we collected previously generated datasets associated with lower vertebrate hosts, and searched them for DNA and retro-transcribing viruses.

The relationship between serum uric acid and risk of stroke is still controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis based on the cohort study to explore the relationship between serum uric acid and risk of stroke, and further illuminate whether there is a linear or non-linear relationship between them. We manually searched the database including Cochrane, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and selected cohort studies focusing on the relationship between serum uric acid and stroke risk.

Pyroglutamate aminopeptidase (PGP) specifically cleaves the peptide bond of pyroglutamic acid linked to the N-terminal end of a polypeptide or protein. Previous studies showed that PGP was associated with several physiological processes and diseases especially those involving inflammation. Utilizing a 'caging' strategy, we designed and synthesized a bioluminescence probe (PBL) with a limit-of-detection of 3.
