Intrauterine adhesions (IUA), characterized by fibrotic adhesions within the uterine cavity, frequently result in menstrual irregularities, recurrent miscarriages, secondary infertility, and increased pregnancy risks among women of childbearing age. Unfortunately, conventional clinical interventions mainly including surgical separation and physical isolation exhibit limited efficacy in promoting the regeneration of the injured endometrium and are associated with a high recurrence rate. Consequently, it is imperative to investigate novel therapies aimed at repairing the injured endometrium in IUA patients, particularly those desiring fertility.

With the increasing demand for ecofriendly air filtration materials, poly(lactic acid) (PLA) nanofibrous membranes (NFMs) show significant potential for efficient air purification while evading plastic pollution. However, there is still an urgent need to solve the issues of intrinsically low electroactivity and poor electret performance for PLA. Here, we prepared MOF-functionalized core-shell beaded PLA (MCSB-PLA) gradient nanofibers at fibrous cellulose, featuring a PLA/MOF-5 composite shell layer by coaxial electrospinning.

The triglyceride glucose-waist circumference (TyG-WC) index, a novel measure for assessing IR, may hold significant predictive value for NAFLD. However, the relationship between TyG-WC and the risk of NAFLD remains elusive.

This study aimed to identify the most effective examinations for evaluating BMI in DLBCL, including positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT), immunoglobulin gene rearrangement (IGR), flow cytometry (FCM), bone marrow cytology (BMC) and bone marrow biopsy pathology (BMB), and to further explore its prognostic significance in DLBCL patients.
Methods: This retrospective study included 364 newly diagnosed DLBCL patients, all of whom underwent PET/CT, IGR, FCM, BMC, and BMB at diagnosis.

Background: Unexpected cardiovascular events are likely to occur within a short period following an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2-I) is a recently recommended drug for the treatment of AMI. However, its role in the risk of the outcomes following an AMI, including all-cause death and heart failure readmission, remains controversial.

Surround modulation is a fundamental property of V1 neurons, playing critical roles in stimulus integration and segregation. It is believed to be orientation-specific, as neurons' responses at preferred orientations are suppressed more by iso-oriented surrounds than by cross-oriented surrounds. Here, we investigated an alternative hypothesis that surround modulation is primarily orientation-unspecific, in that the observed "orientation-specific" surround effects actually reflect overall gain changes that affect neurons tuned to all orientations.

Cisplatin (Cis) is among the most widely employed antitumour agents, although its clinical application is limited by self-induced multiple-organ toxicity. Previous studies have demonstrated the essential role of mitochondrial injury in the pathogenesis of Cis-induced ovotoxicity. Notably, mesenchymal stem cell-extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs), potential cell-free therapeutic agents, exhibit pronounced advantages for the treatment of ovarian dysfunction.

Herein, a combined electrospinningelectrospray approach was employed to firmly anchor MOF nanocrystals onto poly(lactic acid) (PLA) nanofibers, resembling the naturally occurring dense protrusions at the lotus leaf. The formation of unique MOF-protruding superstructures gave rise to an exceptional combination of increased electroactivity, in-situ electret properties and charge regeneration mechanisms, as well as remarkable humidity resistance.

Objective: The effect of sodium intake on atrial fibrillation (AF)/atrial flutter (AFL), with respect to sex and age, has yet to be elucidated. This study aims to compare long-term trends in AF/AFL death and disability due to high sodium intake in China from 1990 to 2019.
Methods: We utilized data from the Global Burden of Disease study to assess the mortality and disability burden of AF/AFL attributable to high sodium intake (> 5 g/d) in China from 1990 to 2019.

Background: Numerous studies have shown that insulin resistance (IR) is closely related to the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study aims to summarize the correlation between the triglyceride-glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI index), a novel surrogate indicator of insulin resistance, and the incidence of CVD in patients without CVD at baseline through meta-analysis.
Method: Cohort studies assessing multivariate-corrected hazard ratios (HRs) for associations between the TyG-BMI index and cardiovascular disease (CVD) were obtained by searching PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science.
This study evaluated the ability of the triglyceride (TG) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio to identify individuals at risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) population. We retrospectively studied 4,769 patients with NAFLD from the Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University (2020-2023). Binary logistic regression models were used to evaluate the association between the TG/HDL-C ratio and lipid parameters with T2DM.

Hubel and Wiesel's ice-cube model proposed that V1 orientation and ocular dominance functional maps intersect orthogonally to optimize wiring efficiency. Here, we revisited this model and additional arrangements at both cellular and pixel levels in awake macaques using two-photon calcium imaging. The recorded response fields of view were similar in size to hypercolumns, each containing up to 2,000 identified neurons and representing full periods of orientation preferences and ocular dominance.

Exposure to benzene causes acute myelosuppression and other hematologic disorders. However, the detailed mechanism by which benzene exerts its severe hematotoxicity and potential treatments still require further deciphering and exploration. Herein, we found that hydroquinone (HQ), a main benzene metabolite, significantly increased intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation and subsequently caused damage to DNA, leading to impaired colony formation capacity and induction of apoptosis in human hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) in vitro.

Herein, we report a near-infrared transparent film that achieves high-efficient combination of thin thickness (16 μm), suitable cut-off wavelength (890 nm), and ideal transmittance (T > 90%, T < 1%). Moreover, the film is photo-chemically stable, heating resistance and moisture insensitive.

Methods: Using data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database in the United States from 2011 to 2015 (N = 118,293), the association between marital status and cardiovascular death (CVD) risk in patients with lung cancer was assessed by competing-risks regression models.
Results: Unmarried status was associated with increased risk of cardiovascular death in lung cancer patients [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.
Organic carbon mineralization is the main driving force of metal migration and transformation in sediments, greatly influencing the distribution, pollution degree, and toxicity of toxic metals. However, relevant research on this subject is still limited. In this study, the concentration of toxic metals (Cr, Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Fe, Mn, Ni, As) in the solid and liquid phase (porewater) of sediments were measured, toxic metal pollution degree and toxicity of the Yellow Sea (YS) and the East China Sea (ECS) were assessed.
