The heavy metal hyperaccumulator Sedum is limited by sensitivity to intense sunlight. This study compared light-tolerant Sedum alfredii and light-sensitive Sedum plumbizincicola under light intensities (600-1400 μmol m⁻² s⁻¹). Sedum plumbizincicola exhibited complete mortality at 1400 μmol m⁻² s⁻¹ after six days, while Sedum alfredii showed minimal to moderate mortality.

This work evaluated the role of casein kinase 2α (CK2α) and FUNDC1 in high-fat diet (HFD)-evoked MASLD. WT and CK2α deletion (CK2α ) mice were subjected to low fat or HFD for 20 weeks.

In this study, we demonstrate that dipeptidyl peptidase 7 (DPP7) high expression correlates with poor prognosis in CRC patients. Functional analyses revealed that DPP7 promotes CRC cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis, while its depletion enhances natural killer (NK) cell-mediated cytotoxicity against tumour cells.

SIK1 was identified as a key regulator of ferroptosis resistance in PDAC by kinase database screening. Targeting SIK1 could significantly reverse ferroptosis resistance and enhance cytotoxic effects of gemcitabine via increasing ferroptosis sensitivity in PDAC cells.

The diagnosis and monitoring of NMOSD can be challenging, particularly in seronegative cases, highlighting the need for reliable biomarkers to enhance clinical management. This study aimed to identify serum lipid biomarkers for the diagnosis and monitoring of NMOSD and to assess their potential to improve clinical decision-making.

Vascular endothelial cells form a single layer of flat cells that line the inner surface of blood vessels, extending from large vessels to the microvasculature of various organs. These cells are crucial metabolic and endocrine components of the body, playing vital roles in maintaining circulatory stability, regulating vascular tone, and preventing coagulation and thrombosis. Endothelial cell injury is regarded as a pivotal initiating factor in the pathogenesis of various diseases, triggered by multiple factors, including infection, inflammation, and hemodynamic changes, which significantly compromise vascular integrity and function.

Background: Biopsy is the gold standard method for diagnosing liver fibrosis. FibroScan is a non-invasive method of diagnosing liver fibrosis, but it still faces some limitations. This study aimed to establish a nomogram model and identify patients at high risk of advanced liver fibrosis associated with hepatitis B infection.

However, its application is limited due to severe adhesion between the mesh and the abdominal viscera, leading to complications such as chronic pain, intestinal obstruction, and hernia recurrence. Currently, building anti-adhesive PP mesh remains a formidable challenge.

Introduction: Acute myeloid leukemia(AML) is a diverse malignancy with a prognosis that varies, being especially unfavorable in older patients and those with high-risk characteristics. Metabolic reprogramming has become a significant factor in AML development , presenting new opportunities for prognostic assessment and therapeutic intervention.
Methods: Metabolism-related differentially expressed genes (mDEGs) were identified by integrating KEGG metabolic gene lists with AML gene expression data from GSE63270.

For stochastic nonlower triangular nonlinear systems subject to dead-zone input, a neuroadaptive tracking control frame is constructed by applying the dynamic surface technique with a state observer in this work. Its primary contribution lies in extending the stability criteria to encompass stochastic nonlinear systems characterized by nonlower triangular structures and unmeasured states. The control strategy is delineated as follows.

Although MQC activation has cardioprotective effects in various cardiovascular diseases, its precise role and regulatory mechanisms in alcoholic cardiomyopathy (ACM) remain incompletely understood.
Methods: We explored whether two mitochondria-related proteins, phosphoglycerate mutase 5 (Pgam5) and prohibitin 2 (Phb2), influence MQC in male mice during ACM.

Early detection of AD is significant to patients for personalized intervention since effective cure and treatment methods for AD are still lacking. Despite the severity of the disease, existing highly sensitive AD detection methods, including neuroimaging and brain deposit-positive lesion tests, are not suitable for screening purposes due to their high cost and complicated operation.

These factors play a crucial role in the progression of endotoxemic cardiomyopathy. Sepsis-related multiorgan damage involves the participation of the catalytic subunit of DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PKcs).

Background & Aims: As the most abundant memory T cells and major source of tumor necrosis factor α in the intestinal mucosa of Crohn's disease (CD) patients, CD4 tissue-resident memory T (T) cells play a critical role in CD pathogenesis. We investigated the role of metabolic reprogramming in the regulation of proinflammatory and apoptosis-resistant phenotype for CD4 T cells.
Methods: CD4 T cells were collected from intestinal resection tissues from control and CD patients.
The DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit (DNA-PKcs) promotes pathological mitochondrial fission during septic acute kidney injury. The mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c (MOTS-c) is a mitochondria-derived peptide that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties during cardiovascular illnesses. We explored whether endotoxemia-induced myocardial microvascular injury involved DNA-PKcs and MOTS-c dysregulation.

SCM's pathogenesis is strongly affected by mitochondrial metabolic dysregulation and immune infiltration disorder. However, the specific mechanisms and their intricate interactions in SCM remain unclear.

Background: Migraine, a complex brain disorder, is regarded as a possible clinical manifestation of brain energy dysfunction. The trigeminovascular system is considered the basis for the pathogenesis of migraine, hence we depicted the proteomics profiling of key regions in this system, then focusing on protein alterations related to mitochondrial function. The aim of this study is to illustrate the role of mitochondria in migraine.

Plasma samples contain a large number of leaked proteins from different tissues in the body, immune proteins and communication signal proteins. However, MS signal suppression from high-abundance proteins results in a large number of proteins that are present in low abundance in plasma not being detected by the LC-MS method.
