Objective: The aim of this study was to develop a machine learning model that can predict spread through air space (STAS) of lung adenocarcinoma preoperatively. STAS is associated with poor prognosis in invasive lung adenocarcinoma. Therefore non-invasive and accurate pre-surgical prediction of STAS in patients with lung adenocarcinoma is essential for individualised patient management.

Reducing the number of renal myofibroblasts by inducing cell apoptosis is a novel strategy for treating renal fibrosis. The functional domain BH3 from protein Bak (BH3 peptide) exerts pro-apoptotic activity and the affibody Z shows a superior high affinity for PDGFβR.

Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) are promising, cost-effective, large-area solar collectors for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPVs). However, most of the recently reported efficient LSCs contain heavy metal ions, such as Pb or Cd, which limits their potential practical applications. Here we demonstrated eco-friendly ZnCuInSe/ZnSe (ZCISe/ZnSe) core/shell quantum dots (QDs) and integrated them into a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) polymer matrix to fabricate LSCs (10 × 10 × 0.

The presence of BTEX in surface waters in arid regions and its associated health risks, as well as the primary influencing factors, are crucial concerns that impede the protection and management of water environments in these areas. By employing a combination of the Monte Carlo risk assessment model and the geographical detector model, this study elucidates the health risks associated with benzene-based compounds in surface water within the Tarim Basin (TRB), China's largest inland basin, while identifying the primary driving forces influencing their distribution in the research area.

The main function of this protein is to maintain osmotic pressure balance inside and outside the cell. To investigate the role of the Na/K-ATPase gene under high-salt stress in the Hong Kong oyster (Crassostrea hongkongensis), full-length cloning and expression analysis of Na/K-ATPase β subunit (ChNa/K-ATPase-β) were performed.

However, it still suffers from low deactivation, selectivity, and high costs. Herein, we developed a new strategy for preparing mesoporous nitrogen-doped carbon catalysts by carbonization of phenolic resin with silica as a hard template.

The composition of the gut microbiota in patients with bronchiectasis has been proven to be distinct from that of healthy individuals, and this disrupted gut microbiota can exacerbate lung infections. However, the responsible microbes and mechanisms in the "gut-lung" axis in bronchiectasis remain unknown. Here, we report that was enriched in the gut, and taurine ursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) was enriched in both the guts and sera of patients with bronchiectasis, with both being associated with disease severity.

To investigate the characteristics of taurine and betaine and identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with traits in C. hongkongensis, we cloned the full-length cDNA of key genes involved in taurine and betaine metabolism (unpublished data), determined taurine and betaine content and gene expression in different tissues and months of the oyster specimen collection, and developed SNPs in the gene coding region.

The crystal phase composition, microstructure, and electromagnetic properties can be regulated by varying the thermal treatment temperature. The synergistic integration of heterogeneous interfaces, magnetic materials, microstructures, and defect engineering helps optimize impedance matching and enhance polarization and magnetic losses.

Results: We cloned the full-length cDNA of cysteine dioxygenase () and cysteine sulfite decarboxylase (), which are key genes involved in taurine metabolism in , and found that betaine and taurine contents and the expression of key genes were regulated by seawater salinity.
Background: Population ageing and cancer burden are important global public health problems that pose unprecedented threats to health systems worldwide. Frailty is a common health problem among elderly patients with cancer. In recent years, the use of prehabilitation to improve frailty has received widespread attention.

CsPbI perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have emerged as promising photovoltaic materials for third-generation solar cells, owing to their superior optoelectronic properties. Nevertheless, the performance of CsPbI PQD solar cells is primarily hindered by low carrier extraction efficiency, largely due to the insulative ligands. In this study, we introduced a semiconductor molecule, [6,6]-phenyl C butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM), onto the surfaces of CsPbI PQDs as surface ligands to enhance photogenerated charge extraction.

It is important to determine the factors controlling PTEs and to assess the likelihood that they will pose a risk to human health in order to support the development of environmental protection and risk management strategies. In this study, a structural equation model and Bayesian method were combined to discuss the distribution and probabilistic health risks of PTEs in surface water in arid area, and the Tarim River Basin was taken as a case study.

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is a hot research area that is widely required in many robotics applications. In SLAM technology, it is essential to explore an accurate and efficient map model to represent the environment and develop the corresponding data association methods needed to achieve reliable matching from measurements to maps. These two key elements impact the working stability of the SLAM system, especially in complex scenarios.

Background: Posterior mediastinal leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare malignant mesenchymal tumor with no special clinical symptoms, which is easily confused with some common tumors in the posterior mediastinum, affecting the accuracy of the first diagnosis by clinicians and delaying the treatment of patients.
Case Summary: We report a 59-year-old woman with a space-occupying lesion in the posterior mediastinum. The patient was mistakenly diagnosed with lumbar muscle or vertebral body lesions due to chest and back pain and underwent conservative treatment, but her symptoms did not improve significantly and she gradually developed pain in both lower limbs.

Spatial transcriptomic (ST) clustering employs spatial and transcription information to group spots spatially coherent and transcriptionally similar together into the same spatial domain. Graph convolution network (GCN) and graph attention network (GAT), fed with spatial coordinates derived adjacency and transcription profile derived feature matrix are often used to solve the problem. Our proposed method STGIC (spatial transcriptomic clustering with graph and image convolution) is designed for techniques with regular lattices on chips.
