Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Acute lung injury is one of the most fatal lung diseases and has a significant impact on mortality and morbidity. Currently, ALI treatment options remain limited. Pegaeophyton scapiflorum (DHJ) has been documented in Dumu Materia Medica, as clearing heat from the lungs, and are clinically used for respiratory disorders.

Background: The underexplored potential of PD-L1 blockade in advanced renal cell carcinoma highlights an urgent need for novel agents. This trial aimed to compare benmelstobart (a novel PD-L1 inhibitor) plus anlotinib with sunitinib as first-line treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma.

Methods: ETER100 was a multicentre, randomised, open-label, phase 3 trial conducted at 37 medical sites in China.

Background: Patients with synchronous colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) often face sub-optimal outcomes from systemic therapy or resection. This study investigates the prognostic value of the pre-treatment S-index, a reliable non-invasive marker for liver fibrosis, for outcomes in synchronous CRLM patients.

Methods: This study included two populations of patients with synchronous CRLM: one population undergoing resection and another population receiving systemic therapy for unresectable CRLM.

Inspired by the electron-withdrawing ability of nitroxide radicals, a novel open-shell material, EDOT-TPAO is reported, synthesized via one-step demethylation and oxidation of its closed-shell precursor, EDOT-TPAOMe. Time-dependent density functional theory calculations confirm an acceptor-donor-acceptor configuration of EDOT-TPAO where radical termini act as electron acceptors. This structural transformation narrows the optical bandgap from 2.

Rationale: Intramural adenosarcoma of the uterine myometrium is an uncommon gynecologic malignancy, often diagnosed postoperatively, and may arise from pre-existing benign lesions such as adenomyoma.

Patient Concerns: A 46-year-old woman presented with irregular vaginal bleeding during the postmenstrual period for 3 months. She had a prior history of adenomyoma resection and breast cancer treated with tamoxifen.

Microplastic pollution has become a global environmental problem, posing a potential threat to ecosystems and human health. Traditionally, microplastic monitoring has relied on spectral methods, which have significant limitations in terms of cost and time efficiency. To achieve low cost, rapid and large-scale detection, remote sensing technology has been applied to microplastic monitoring, but its accuracy needs to be improved.

Objective: This study aims to identify the latent profiles of resilience among patients with colorectal cancer and an enterostomy, analyze potential influencing factors, and explore the differences in patient activation across different profiles.

Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited a total of 375 patients with colorectal cancer and an enterostomy from three large public hospitals in Chongqing, China, between August 2024 and January 2025 using convenience sampling. Questionnaires used include sociodemographic information, a 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and a Patient Activation Measure.

Microalgae are a rich source of high-value natural products. The green microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii has long been used as a model organism for studying lipid metabolism in photosynthetic organisms. Here, we comprehensively characterized the enzymatic activity and substrate preferences of the plastidial glycerol-3-phosphate:acyl-CoA acyltransferase (GPAT1) from C.

Seedless watermelons are increasingly dominating the consumer market due to their convenience and high quality. However, traditional triploid watermelon breeding faces challenges such as long breeding cycles and low survival rates of triploid F progeny, severely hindering both breeding and production. In this study, we identified the ClPS1 gene as being associated with the formation of 2n gametes in watermelon.

Insufficient alveolar bone thickness increases the risk of periodontal dehiscence and fenestration, especially in orthodontic tooth movement. Abaloparatide (ABL), a synthetic analog of human PTHrP (1-34) and a clinical medication for treating osteoporosis, has recently demonstrated its potential in enhancing craniofacial bone formation. Herein, we show that intraoral submucosal injection of ABL, when combined with mechanical force, promotes in situ alveolar bone thickening.

Gender differences play a significant role in human adaptation to both natural and social environments. In high-altitude regions, the reduced oxygen pressure leads to hypoxia, which is reflected in structural changes in the brain. However, the mechanisms by which gender regulates the effects of hypoxia on brain structure remain unclear.

Objective: To determine the characteristics of anxiety at five different points during tooth extraction, explore the relationship between anxiety and pain, and identify predictors of overall anxiety.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 302 patients undergoing tooth extraction. Anxiety levels were evaluated using a modified dental anxiety scale (MDAS) at five time points: pre-extraction night (T1), hospital waiting period (T2), local anesthesia administration (T3), extraction procedure (T4), and post-extraction (T5).

Aims: Tripterygium glycoside tablet (TGT), a first-line anti-inflammatory drug for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is severely limited in clinical use by male reproductive toxicity with unclear mechanisms. This study aimed to confirm TGT's anti-RA efficacy, characterize its reproductive toxicity in collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rats, and elucidate whether the NELL2-Lumicrine system mediates such damage.

Materials And Methods: TGT's anti-inflammatory efficacy in CIA rats was evaluated via arthritis scoring, histopathology, and cytokine quantification.

Carbon dots (CDs) have emerged as promising nanomaterials for bioimaging and stress monitoring due to their unique optical and functional properties. CDs were synthesized using citric acid and -phenylenediamine via microwave-assisted heating, named as CP-CDs. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy observed an average particle size of 3.

Unlabelled: While variant is an adverse prognosis factor in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)/acute myeloid leukemia (AML), current clinical prognosis and variation feature analysis of alterations remain limited. We evaluated 333 MDS/AML patients with mutations, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and wild-type to characterize clinical features and identify prognostic factors using next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. Interpretation requires caution due to sample size limitations, particularly in subgroup analyses.

Background: Double heterozygosity (DH) is rarely reported in hereditary ovarian cancer. The clinicopathological and pedigree features of ovarian cancer patients harboring DH of cancer-predisposed genes are not well established.

Methods: This study included ovarian cancer patients who received genetic counseling at Peking University Third Hospital between 2018 and 2024.

Importance: Current prognostic models for colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) primarily incorporate clinicopathologic features assessed at a single time point, resulting in a static risk assessment for individuals. Given that tumor progression is a dynamic process, especially for patients with CRLM, and patients' data are continuously collected during the follow-up visits, dynamic prediction is a natural model for risk assessments via reflecting the latest prognosis, whenever new marker measurements are available.

Objective: To develop CRLM prognostic models and a clinical web-based tool to facilitate dynamic predictions.

Targeting the innate immune response is a critical factor in vaccine success. There are numerous serotypes of Salmonella, and cross-reactivity among different serotypes or even strains within the same serotype is limited. This makes it difficult for vaccines to provide broad protection, posing a challenge to effective prevention and control.
