Phthalate esters (PAEs) existed in household environment globally, and household airborne dust PAEs (HD-PAEs) have garnered significant attention due to their endocrine-like toxicity. In on-site study investigating PAE contamination from 60 households across three Chinese cities, we analyzed 43 dust samples for specific PAE components and conducted comprehensive total DNA demethylation potential (TDP) toxicity assays. Ten congeners were detected across all cities (130.

Personalized precision dosing remains an unmet clinical need. This study used population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) modeling to evaluate transitioning lacosamide (LCM) in children with epilepsy from body weight (BW)-based (mg/kg) to simplified BW-band or fixed-dose (mg) regimens. Real-world data from 190 patients were analyzed using nonlinear mixed-effects modeling program, comparing a BW-based model (Model I) and a genotype-guided model (Model II); the latter showed superior predictive performance.

However, most existing BCI technologies are based on simple signal transmission and are independent of other interface devices, with limited consideration for the reliability and security of the human brain's information interaction in complicated wireless environments. Here, we propose a deep fusion coding scheme that combines the BCI visual stimulation coding with metasurface space-time coding at the physical layer, enabling reliable and secure information transfers between the human brain and external devices.

However, its contributions to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) 2030 Targets and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) remain understudied due to limited indicator assessments and regional case comparisons. This study applied circuit theory to construct and optimize a PAN in China's coastal region.

This study investigated household airborne dust's total DNA demethylation potential (TDP) and its association with 14 priority polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in 43 residences across Lanzhou, Suzhou, and Harbin. The median TDP (5-AZA-CdR equivalent) was 0.

Background: Subepithelial lesions (SELs) present significant diagnostic challenges in gastrointestinal endoscopy, particularly in differentiating malignant types, such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) and neuroendocrine tumors, from benign types like leiomyomas. Misdiagnosis can lead to unnecessary interventions or delayed treatment. To address this challenge, we developed ECMAI-WME, a parallel fusion deep learning model integrating white light endoscopy (WLE) and microprobe endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), to improve SEL classification and lesion characterization.

Cancer constitutes a significant global public health challenge, resulting in millions of fatalities annually. Gene mutations are pivotal in initiating and advancing cancer, disrupting regular cellular growth and differentiation mechanisms, thereby fostering tumor development. Consequently, comprehending the intricacies of gene mutations and their interplay with pharmaceuticals is imperative for cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Herein, a novel Ketjen black (KB) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)- multifunctionalized metal-organic framework nanocomposite (ZIF-67/KB-MWCNTs) was synthesized, which was used for the modification of bare electrode (GCE), achieving simultaneous and ultrasensitive detection of hydroquinone (HQ), catechol (CC), and resorcinol (RS) in environmental water. The proposed electrochemical sensor (ECS) was constructed based on the synergistic effect of ZIF-67 with an ultra-large specific area and KB-MWCNTs with 3D chain structure and high conductivity resulted in both high electrocatalysis and fast electron transfer.

We report that composite transposons harbor bivalent histone marks, with activating and repressive marks in distinct regions. Genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 screening, using a reporter driven by the hominid-specific composite transposon SVA (SINE [short interspersed nuclear element]-VNTR [variable number of tandem repeats]-Alu) in human cells, identified diverse genes that modify bivalent histone marks to regulate SVA transcription.

Smoking and a high-salt diet are behavioural risk factors for gastric cancer that can be easily controlled; however, comprehensive and systematic studies are lacking. This study reports the variation trend in the attribution of the burden of gastric cancer in different regions from 1990 to 2021 and suggests personalised recommendations developed for regions with different sociodemographic indices (SDI).

There is significant attention on the characteristics of PAEs in household dust (HD-PAEs) in China, driven by an increasing awareness of their endocrine-disruptor toxicity. In this study, 876 peer-reviewed papers published between 2000 and 2023 were evaluated and screened for raw numerical data of HD-PAEs in residential households, including 27 papers available for final analysis.

The construction of pseudo-dimers often requires elaborate synthetic effort with low efficiency. Dearomatization reactions represent an ideal method to transform planar aromatics into 3D skeletons, which has attracted increasing interest in medicinal chemistry and total synthesis.

Despite the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria providing a standardised approach, nationwide validation and implementation remain limited. We aimed to estimate the national prevalence of GLIM-defined malnutrition among Chinese adult inpatients and assess the predictive value of the GLIM criteria for short-term clinical outcomes.

As individuals age, their ability to make efficient and accurate pragmatic inferences may decline, leading to communication difficulties.
Objectives: This study examined the cognitive aging phenomenon of pragmatic inference and its neural mechanisms using EEG recordings.
-Inositol, a water-soluble B vitamin compound, has broad applications in the food, pharmaceutical, and feed industries. Sustainable production of -inositol from starch can be achieved using an synthetic enzymatic biosystem (ivSEB) comprising four key enzymes. The NAD/NADH self-recycling hyperthermophilic inositol 1-phosphate synthase (AfIPS) from catalyzes the rate-limiting reaction.

Reinforced concrete structures are prone to the development of microcracks during service. In this study, a composite-modified epoxy potting adhesive was formulated using nano-TiO, carboxyl-terminated butadiene nitrile liquid rubber (CTBN), and the reactive diluent D-669. The mechanical properties and effectiveness of this composite adhesive in repairing oblique cracks were systematically evaluated and compared with those of single-component-modified epoxy adhesives.

When discussing childhood epilepsy and children's serum vitamin D status together, the matter becomes complex and intriguing. A long-standing question has been whether there is a causal link between epilepsy itself and the serum vitamin D status: does vitamin D deficiency lead to seizures, or do seizures occur alongside or result in vitamin D deficiency, or is the deficiency caused by anti-seizure medication therapy? Clarifying these questions would significantly enhance our understanding of the relationship between them and improve the treatment and management for childhood epilepsy. This narrative review summarized existing literature on vitamin D and pediatric epilepsy and collected those clinical and non-clinical researches in this field to see if sufficient evidence has accumulated to address these questions.
