Background: Small cell lung cancer is extremely aggressive. Although liver metastasis is common, cases of diffuse intra-sinusoidal metastasis leading to liver failure and death are quite rare.

Case Presentation: This paper reports a case of a 58-year-old male diagnosed with small cell lung cancer through a pathological biopsy, who died due to the rapid progression of liver failure caused by diffuse hepatic sinusoidal metastasis during subsequent treatment.

Background: This study investigated the mechanism through which the Dark Triad traits (Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy) relate to career adaptability. While previous research primarily focused on the role of bright traits in enhancing career adaptability, the potential benefits of dark traits on career adaptability have often been overlooked. By integrating career construction theory (CCT) and conservation of resources theory (COR), this study proposed that adaptive readiness, operationalized in terms of the Dark Triad traits, would be related to career adaptability through political skill, offering a novel perspective on how dark traits, like the Dark Triad, can be related to career adaptability.

Background: Large and impacted common bile duct stones (CBDSs) cannot be removed by conventional endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) or cholangioscopy-guided lithotripsy is recommended as a second-line treatment. The aim of this study is to compare safety and efficacy of ESWL for difficult CBDS.

Methods: Patients at our hospital diagnosed with complex large CBDS between January 2021 and June 2022 were randomly assigned to the ESWL group or the cholangioscopy group for lithotripsy.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of multiple photon-counting CT (PCCT)-derived parameters for hepatic fat quantification, using MRI-derived proton density fat fraction (PDFF) as the reference standard.

Methods: This prospective study included 59 adult participants who underwent both MRI and PCCT within 2 h. Standardized CT values, Liver-virtual non-contrast (VNC) fat fraction, and liver-to-spleen/fat-derived indices (L-S, L/S, L-F, L + F, L/F) were obtained from non-contrast PCCT.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of virtual non-calcium (VNCa) imaging using photon-counting detector CT (PCD-CT) with MRI in assessing lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD).

Materials And Methods: Patients with low back pain underwent PCD-CT and MRI within 2 h. Quantitative analysis included VNCa-derived CT values and T2 relaxation times in manually placed regions of interest.

Introduction: Spinal osteotomy is indicated for malalignment and deformity, but the degree of osseous resection is mainly determined by the surgeon's experience. Navigation and robotics are techniques for the precise placement of pedicle screws.

Research Question: Can an innovative combined navigated trajectory (CNT) design based on a spinal robot achieve precise 3-column osteotomy.

: Previous studies indicated the potential role of consumption of different types of meat in the etiology of acute pancreatitis (AP), but no clear link has been established. This study aimed to investigate the association between consumption of 4 types of meat (processed meat, unprocessed red meat, poultry, and fish) and the risk of incident AP. : We included 489 708 participants from the UK Biobank between 2006 and 2010.

BackgroundTraditional dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) radiomics approaches for predicting lymphovascular invasion (LVI) in invasive breast cancer (IBC) frequently neglect the importance of dynamic phase alterations, and their diagnostic efficacy is often constrained by limited sample sizes. We have developed the Tabular Prior-data Fitted Network (TabPFN) algorithm, which synergistically combines clinical and MR morphological features with delta-radiomics, thereby substantially improving the performance of binary classification.MethodIn this retrospective study, 276 IBC patients were divided into a training group (n = 193, 70%) and a validation set (n = 83, 30%).

Background And Purpose: Lung metastasis directly affects the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, How to predict the occurrence of lung metastasis and assist in advance can improve the efficacy of surgical treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma. This study aimed to develop and validate a model for predicting future lung metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to assist in timely intervention.

Methods: We retrospectively collected MRI (T2W, CE-T1W, and DWI) images of liver tumors and their full slide images of H&E stained biopsy sections for annotation and feature extraction.

Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), organized clusters of immune cells within non-lymphoid tissues, significantly influence tumor progression and therapeutic response. However, their prognostic relevance and underlying regulatory mechanisms in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remain insufficiently characterized. We integrated transcriptomic and clinical data from 928 ccRCC patients to construct a TLS-related prognostic RiskScore using machine learning algorithms.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of Virtual Monoenergetic Image (VMI) reconstructions and radiation dose on radiomic feature reproducibility in photon-counting CT (PCCT) and compare its performance with dual-energy CT (DE-CT).

Methods: An anthropomorphic abdominal phantom (Kyoto Kagaku CTU-41) simulating liver, kidney, and vertebral tissues was scanned on a PCCT system at four dose levels (1, 3, 6, 12 mGy) with VMI reconstructions (40-100 keV). DE-CT acquisitions (80/140 kVp) at matched doses served as the comparator.

Bacterial infections, slow angiogenesis, and wound irregularities continue to present great clinical challenges in infected wound repair. While recent years have seen increasing interest in advanced composite hydrogels with antibacterial, angiogenic, and wound-healing properties, traditional dynamic hydrogels remain limited by inadequate mechanical strength despite their adaptability to irregular wounds. Here, we used double-bonded functionalized recombinant collagen (CFGMA), sulfhydrylated hyaluronic acid (HA-SH), silver ions (Ag), and VEGF peptide (V-pep), which formed a composite hydrogel that could accommodate irregular wounds as well as have excellent mechanical properties.
