Background: The level of premature deaths (deaths among those aged 30-69 years) caused by cancer is an important indicator of evaluating the level of cancer prevention and control. However, the current burden and temporal trends in cancer-related premature deaths, and their impact on life expectancy at the global, regional, and national levels are not clear.
Methods: Cancer mortality data for 185 countries were obtained from the GLOBOCAN 2022 database.
Lysine succinylation is the covalent modification of succinyl groups (-CO-CH ₂ -CH ₂ -COOH) to lysine residues of target proteins, which causes conformational changes and regulates their functional states. In this figure, mitochondria are used as the metabolic hub to summarize the production and consumption of succinyl-CoA in the TCA cycle and mediate the succinylation of key enzymes and transcription factors such as PDH, SDH, GLUD1, HMGCS2, and FEN1. The central region showed the negative regulation of SIRT5/SIRT7 and the positive regulation of KAT2A, alpha-KGDH, CPT1A, HAT1, and other acyltransferases.

Background: H2B histones play crucial roles in plant responses to biotic stress. However, to date, most research on H2B histones has focused on their roles in post-translational modification, and studies specifically investigating the intrinsic properties of these histones remain relatively limited. Here we identified the ZmH2B in maize () and investigated its role in the response of maize to infection by the Southern corn leaf blight pathogen .

However, the effects and mechanisms by which substrate stoichiometry (SS) adapts to microbial metabolic preferences and influences the dynamics of plant and microbial necromass C (PNC, MNC) remain unclear. Therefore, the variations and controlling factors of PNC and MNC in top- (0-20 cm) and subsoil (20-40 cm) across different SS conditions were investigated during the whole maize season.

Listeriosis is a foodborne disease caused by (Lm) that usually leads to serious adverse outcomes in pregnant women. Interleukin (IL)-33/serum stimulation (ST)2 axis has an important impact on infectious diseases, but its role in listeriosis is rarely studied. Here, the immunomodulatory effects of IL-33/ST2 axis during perinatal Lm infection were investigated.

Whether effectors from Exserohilum turcicum, which causes northern corn leaf blight (NLB), interfere with RNA splicing remains unknown. We identify that the secreted protein EtEC81 (Exserohilum turcicum effector 81) modulates the alternative splicing (AS) of maize (Zea mays) pre-mRNAs and negatively regulates the pathogenicity of E.

TGF-β signaling is a classical pro-fibrotic pathway, and it plays a crucial part in the occurrence and progression of skin fibrosis. Daidzein (Dai), an isoflavone compound, has been proved to possess anti-fibrosis effect by TGF-β signaling in various inflammatory and fibrotic diseases.

Background: Cardiac fibrosis is significant global health problem, which is associated with numerous cardiovascular diseases, and ultimately leads to the progression to heart failure. β-adrenergic receptor (β-AR) overactivation play a role in the development of cardiac fibrosis. Miglustat (Mig) has shown anti-fibrosis effects in multiple fibrotic diseases.

This protocol featured easily available starting materials, excellent functional group tolerance and high efficiency. Moreover, the antitumor activities of selected CF-indazoles against human cancer cell lines were also studied, and the results indicated that several compounds displayed considerable antiproliferative activities.

Fragile X syndrome is the leading genetic cause of intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorders. Female premutation carriers exhibit no obvious symptoms during reproductive age, but the premutation allele can expand to full mutation when transmitted to the fetus. Given the relatively low prevalence but large population, the distinct health care system, the middle-income economic status, and low awareness among public and medical professionals, the optimal genetic screening strategy remains unknown.

In these reservoirs, fractures serve as crucial spaces for fluid migration and storage, making their precise assessment essential. Array acoustic logging stands out as a pivotal method for evaluating fractures.

However, the characteristics and prognosis of MPLC categorized according to the new system have not been evaluated.
Method: We retrospectively analyzed data from surgically treated MPLC patients in a single center from 2011 to 2013 and explored the characteristics and outcomes of different MPLC disease patterns.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed clinical records of patients with AIS (=83) treated in The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College between January 2021 and December 2022 (=83). The control group consisted of 38 patients who underwent IVT alone and the observation group consisted of 45 patients who underwent IVT with MT.
Objective: We aimed to study the correlation between pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) and acute cerebral infarction (ACI).
Methods: Patients who had the symptoms of paralysis, aphasia, or sudden neurological impairment from June 2020 to October 2021 were chosen. There were 159 patients diagnosed with ACI as the experimental group and 102 patients without ACI as the control group.

Ring rot induced by Botryosphaeria dothidea is a major cause of growth and postharvest losses in various fruits. There is an urgent need to develop green fungicides due to pesticide resistance and environmental pressure. Here, we demonstrated the efficacy of dictamnine (DIC, 4-methoxyfuro [2,3-β] quinoline, purity 98%), a compound isolated from the stems and leaves of Clausena lansium, in effectively suppressing pear ring rot by inhibiting the mycelial growth of B.

Cholesterol, the most important sterol in mammals, is known as the "gold of the body" because it maintains membrane fluidity, rigidity, and signal transduction while also serving as a precursor of oxysterols, bile acids, and steroid hormones. Cholesterol homeostasis is primarily controlled by uptake, biosynthesis, efflux, and regulatory mechanisms.

Social heavy metal pollution poses a significant threat to aquatic ecosystems. Heavy metals are easily adsorbed by sediments and have cumulative effects on aquatic organisms, which is different with the hypothesis of the conventional ecological footprint model that the pollutants are independently degraded by water bodies. To solve this problem, an ecological footprint for heavy metal pollution (EFHM) is constructed based on the potential ecological risk index (PERI).

Background: Guillain-Barre syndrome after myocardial infarction occurs infrequently, and its occurrence following percutaneous coronary intervention is extremely rare. Due to the high mortality rate of myocardial infarction and the disability of Guillain-Barre syndrome, early identification of Guillain-Barre syndrome after myocardial infarction and early intervention can decrease the mortality rate, lead to early recovery, and provide a better outcome.
Case Presentation: Herein, we reported a rare case of Guillain-Barre syndrome after myocardial infarction treated with percutaneous coronary intervention.
