Background: The Child-Pugh (CP) score is widely used to evaluate the severity of liver dysfunction in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Recently, both the albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) and platelet-albumin-bilirubin (PALBI) grade have been raised to be objective measurement indexes of liver function which can sufficiently stratify HCC patient survival. In this study, we aim to compare the ability of albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) and platelet-albumin-bilirubin (PALBI) grade to predict outcomes in hepatitis B-Induced HCC after liver resection with curative intent.

Introduction: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), accounting for 90% of primary liver cancers, is a high-mortality malignancy and the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, with major risk factors like hepatitis B/C, aflatoxin exposure, and obesity. Most patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, with a 5-year survival rate below 10%. Therefore, HCC treatment and research still face significant challenges, and more effective treatments need to be further explored.

An organoid is a cell-based structure that shows organ-specific properties and shares a similar spatial organization as the corresponding organ. Organoids possess powerful capability to reproduce the key functions of the associated organ structures, and their similarity to the organs makes them physiologically relevant systems. The primary challenge associated with the development of skin organoids is the complexity of the human skin architecture, which encompasses the epidermis and the dermis as well as accessory structures, including hair follicles, sweat glands, and sebaceous glands, that perform various functions such as thermoregulation.

This study focused on identifying the interleukin (IL)-related genes that influence the head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients' prognosis and response to anticancer therapy in patients with HNSCC. We developed a risk model that included three gene signatures, IL Enhancer Binding Factor 2 (ILF2), IL 36 alpha (IL36A), and IL10, based on differential expression analysis, survival analysis, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) analysis, and Cox regression analysis. We found that the low-risk group was scored with higher immune cell infiltration, higher expression of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) family genes and immune checkpoint genes, higher cytolytic activity (CYT), tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS), and CD8A/PD-L1 ratio.

To study the enhancement effect of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the splitting tensile properties of foamed concrete backfill in which cement and fly ash were used as the cementitious materials and natural sand was used as the aggregate, specimens of CNT-modified foamed concrete backfill were prepared. Brazilian splitting tests were used to investigate the splitting tensile strength of the CNT-modified foamed concrete backfill, and the digital speckle correlation method was used to analyze the stress field characteristics and crack expansion law of the specimens during splitting tensile testing. The stress-strain characteristics and energy dissipation laws of the backfill were studied at various static loading rates, and a relationship between the splitting tensile strength, ultimate strain, and loading rate was established.

Despite the immense potential of tetrazine bioorthogonal chemistry in biomedical research, the in vivo performance of tetrazine probes is challenged by the inverse correlation between the physiological stability and reactivity of tetrazines. Additionally, the synthesis of functionalized tetrazines is often complex and requires specialized reagents. To overcome these issues, we present a novel tetrazine scaffold-triazolyl-tetrazine-that can be readily synthesized from shelf-stable ethynyl-tetrazines and azides.
