Objective: This study aims to elucidate the pharmacological mechanisms and therapeutic targets of Shengxian Sanren Granules in the treatment of Chronic heart failure (CHF), with particular emphasis on the regulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR-mediated autophagy signaling pathway.

Methods: The major blood-absorbed components of Shengxian Sanren Granules were identified using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). Network analysis was applied to predict potential targets and signaling pathways, revealing 37 core targets predominantly enriched in the PI3K-Akt and mTOR pathways.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) represents a progressive stage of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and is characterized by steatosis, inflammation, hepatocyte ballooning, and fibrosis. Resmetirom, a thyroid hormone receptor β (THR-β) agonist, is the first drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of MASH. The beneficial effects of THR-β agonists on lipid levels primarily result from their action on THR-β in the liver, whereas adverse effects, including impacts on cardiac and bone health, are mediated through thyroid hormone receptor α (THR-α).

Melanoma, a highly aggressive malignancy with increasing global incidence, faces significant therapeutic challenges due to drug resistance, systemic toxicity, and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Despite advances in targeted therapies and immunotherapies, the need for safer and more effective treatment options remains urgent. Chinese herbal medicine-derived polysaccharides (CHMPs), characterized by their natural origin, biocompatibility, and multifaceted bioactivities, have garnered increasing attention as promising candidates for melanoma therapy due to their low toxicity and multi-targeting capabilities.

RNA viruses have high mutation rates and constitute an increasing global risk. As the viral target approach to develop antiviral drugs is inadequate for responding to an increasing diversity of viruses, an urgent need exists for the development of new antivirals to prevent future outbreaks. Here, we show that aglycone ionophores maduramycin (Mad) and endusamycin (End) from are broadly virucidal against cytoplasmic replicated viruses, including Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), rabies virus, hepatitis C virus, vesicular stomatitis virus, hantavirus, dengue virus, Zika virus, chikungunya virus, and SARS-CoV-2 in vitro.

Post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) pancreatitis (PEP) is a common complication in patients undergoing ERCP for choledocholithiasis, yet effective predictive models are lacking. This study included 2,247 patients who underwent ERCP for complete stone removal at the First Affiliated Hospital of USTC from January 2015 to January 2023. Six machine learning algorithms were utilized, incorporating 25 clinical parameters, to develop a predictive model for PEP risk.

Motivation: The objective of EEG data analysis is to extract meaningful insights, enhancing our understanding of brain function. However, the high dimensionality and temporal dependency of EEG data present significant challenges to the effective application of statistical methods. This study systematically addresses these challenges by introducing a high-dimensional statistical framework that includes testing changes in the mean vector and precision matrix, as well as conducting relevant analyses.

Hyperspectral remote sensing (RS) has demonstrated to be useful for estimating vegetation photosynthetic traits, such as the maximum carboxylation rate of Rubisco (Vcmax) and the electron transport rate (Jmax). However, the spectral ranges used by RS models for predicting photosynthetic traits vary, and their predictive performance across different crop varieties is poor. This study aimed to investigate whether augmenting the modeling dataset's variability through various nitrogen experiments on tea chrysanthemum could improve RS-based photosynthetic trait models' applicability.

The synergistic activation of gaseous oxygen and surface lattice oxygen is essential for designing highly efficient catalysts to eliminate VOCs. Herein, an effective acid treatment was carried out to create more oxygen vacancies by modulating the electronic structure of MgMnO spinels and MgMnO mixed oxides. The acid-treated MgMnO exhibited outstanding catalytic performance, with the reaction rate of benzene rising by 8.

Background: Sleep disorder is widespread and involves a variety of intricate factors in its development. Sleep deprivation is a manifestation of sleep disorder, can lead to energy metabolism disturbances, weakened immune system, and compromised body functions. In extreme situations, sleep deprivation can cause organ failure, presenting significant risks to human health.

Hydrogels have attracted extensive attention as wound dressing owing to their excellent multifunctionality, flexibility, and biocompatibility. Due to the frequent movement and stretching of skin as well as complex surface of wound, traditional wound dressings have difficulty to adapt to motion and irregular wounds. Furthermore, excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) and bacterial infection can induce delayed wound healing.

Our study aimed to retrospectively analyze the patients who underwent the combination of negative pressure equipment and RIRS(NP-RIRS) for renal stones, and identified new high-risk factors related to infection. 456 patients with renal stones ≤ 3 cm underwent NP-RIRS in our department, from January 2022 to October 2023. All patients were divided into non-infection group(NIRIRS group) and infection group(IRIRS group) based on infection complications during the perioperative period.

To synergize climate mitigation with poverty alleviation, China has implemented photovoltaic poverty alleviation (PVPA) projects since 2014, with Anhui Province being among the initial pilot regions. However, further exploration is needed to determine the extent to which this policy can improve the economic status of poverty-stricken areas. This study aims to evaluate the effects of PVPA projects in Anhui Province from a macroscopic perspective and via the panel data from 11 poverty-stricken counties, including 5 pilot counties, between 2011 and 2018.

In this paper, the fused graphical lasso (FGL) method is used to estimate multiple precision matrices from multiple populations simultaneously. The lasso penalty in the FGL model is a restraint on sparsity of precision matrices, and a moderate penalty on the two precision matrices from distinct groups restrains the similar structure across multiple groups. In high-dimensional settings, an oracle inequality is provided for FGL estimators, which is necessary to establish the central limit law.

We identified Wdr17 as a highly expressed gene in pachytene spermatocytes by transcriptomic analysis of mouse testis. Germ cell-deficient infertile mouse models had significantly reduced Wdr17 expression. We performed gene interference and overexpression in the mouse spermatocyte cell line GC-2spd(ts) and investigated how Wdr17 affects spermatocyte growth and development.

With a shortage of organs for transplant, the use of marginal donors can be an effective measure to meet the shortfall. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are considered an absolute contraindication for organ donation because of the high invasive potential. Currently, organ transplantation from donors with a past history of MDS has not been reported.
